Monday Motivation

Yoga Guy
Robert Downey Jr.
While I know today is Presidents' Day, that does not mean it is necessarily time off from the gym. Therefore some Monday Motivation is in order.

Some of you may or may not be in the loop that I do yoga once a week. It is not my favorite thing, but my body is addicted to it, and I listen to my body talk

Well I am trying to up it to twice a week and I needed something, or someone to motivate me to take it today. Hence this shot of Robert Downey Jr. in yoga action.

Honestly I am quite impressed with how flexible he is, something I am not. Which going more than once a week would improve on that situation.

Robert and myself are also the same age, 52. Also considering everything he has been through in his life and the fact that he can commit to the ancient art and do it well...that's motivation for you!

So, I am going to bend it like RDJ today and step up my yoga game.

Hey, it's Monday after all.

A Tale of Two Paris'

I See London, I See France...
Paris Hilton & Paris Jackson
"Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale..." Theme From Gilligan's Island

Here's the tale, it goes something like this Michael Jackson so loved Paris Hilton's first name that he asked Kathy Hilton permission to name his daughter Paris and of course being the game gal she is, she said "yes" - and the beat goes on.

Thus when Paris Hilton celebrated her 37th Birthday, well, yesterday the two Paris' took the time for a photo op, naturally.

Actually this is one time I am not going to state I would like to have been a fly on the wall because, well think about it. While I don't purport to know either of these women, I feel they would have nothing to add to my life experience, collectively or separately.

What slays me is that Paris Hilton is 37! Seriously, it makes me realize how much older I have gotten as I remember when she was doing the The Simple Life with Nicole Richie at a mere 22 years old!

Aye Carumba!

The initial dates for Lee’s 2018 North American tour have been announced (see below) and will kick-off February 15 in Lee’s hometown of Chicago.  In addition, Lee has signed an exclusive deal with CESD, the leading agency for Voice-Over for animation, video and more.

Since emerging onto the scene, Lee’s real breakout moment came when he wrote an original song for The Walking Dead. “Blackbird Song” has over 12 Million YouTube views collectively, and 5.8 Million Spotify streams. The single has sold more than 100k copies and was considered one of the top 10 most influential syncs in 2014 from the Musicians Guild of America.

Since the release of “Blackbird Song," Lee has gone on to have more than 35 syncs and placements in TV shows such as Elementary, Suits, The Fosters, Nashville, Reign, Hart of Dixie, Bull, and many others. His song “Don’t Be Afraid” was the national campaign song for 2 years for Blue Cross Blue Shield, and ESPN used his song “The Ride” in several NASCAR commercials. Lee’s song “Fight” was on the Hot AC Top 40 chart for 10 weeks straight was featured in the highly acclaimed independent movie, Sister. Lee also won an award from the LA Indie Film Festival for his video for the song “Fight,”which he wrote and directed himself.

In 2016, Lee released his album Oil & Water which debuted in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Folk Music chart and received high praise from both Billboard & Huffington Post.  It was also considered a top 10 album of the year by PopDose Magazine while Yahoo Entertainment heralded DeWyze’s music for having “a hymn-like vibe, majestic orchestration and introspective lyrics.”  Lee released the single, “Weight” in Dec of 2016, which was featured in the season finale of CBS’ Elementary. Originally written for the feature “Collateral Beauty,” this song was a turning point in Lee’s writing career.

David Cook Gets "Kinky"

Steppin' Out
David Cook

C'mon Kinky Boots, start walkin'...!!!
Singer-songwriter and American Idol Winner David Cook’s brand-new EP, Chromance was released today.   The EP features all new material that was written over the past year and also includes an ethereal mid-tempo spin on the Phil Collins classic "Another Day in Paradise" -
If putting out a brand new EP wasn’t enough to keep Cook busy, in April he’s heading to the Great White Way for his Broadway debut in Kinky Boots as Charlie Price. “I’ve had conversations about finding creative outlets outside of being a musician, but the timing was never right.” While Cook is excited for his first starring role, he’s also aware how timely and relevant the message behind Kinky Boots is right now. “I am honored I am going to be part of this show and get to work with so many amazing people. I love the collaborative aspect of theatre too, the idea of being part of a creative team and working it out in front of an audience each night.”

Chromance is available through the PledgeMusic campaign: well as all other digital retailers.

Hump Day & VD

Feel The Love
Sandy Zacky & Mike Clifford
This week Hump Day is brought to you by the letters V & D, rather than "Chill,"
because "yes" beautiful people, Valentines Day falls in the middle of the week.

What better way to celebrate than with Entertain Me's resident chanteuse Sandy with a "Y" not "E" Zacky and her singing partner Mike Clifford? Featuring the title track from their joint CD Love is Everything...duh!

Today is the day we are are given a spoonful of love via every media outlet that can spurt word vomit to make it the focus of the day.

So why not me?! However I am prescribing love in general today. Not love to that one "special" person. If you have someone like that, spectacular! But if not, you can still spread love. It's about being a good person today & everyday.

Get to it and spread your VD love!

Happy Valentines Day Peeps!

Good Vibes

Go Johnny, Go!
John Stamos
"I'm pickin up good vibrations, Shes giving me excitations, I'm pickin up good vibrations (oom bop bop good vibrations)" - Good Vibrations, The Beach Boys

SHE may not be giving me excitations, but HE certainly is! Yep, I'm pickin' up Good Vibrations from this photo of John Stamos taking the stage on guitar with The Beach Boys in Florida.

Nothing like letting loose with the cool vibes of music to soothe your soul. It also does not hurt that Mr. Stamos has gotten hotter in his 50's than he has ever been.

The vibrations I feel when I see John are very good in many ways (wink)....

So come on let me hear you shout and let loose on those good vibes.

You know you want em'!

Thin Mints???

Cookie Monster
Jennifer Garner
Would you buy some Thin Mints from this woman?! "Yes" that's Jennifer Garner shucking Girl Scout cookies outside of grocery store and pimping them out on her Instagram account with the caption:

“Why yes, kind sir, we do have Thin Mints"

Oh really? I myself prefer the Tagalong cookies.

Whatever. I am sure the troop aided and abetted by Ms. Garner killed their competition sales wise.

Hey, that's what a celebrity Mom is for damn it!

Now about those Tagalongs...

Fashion It's a Thing

Birds of a Feather
Julianne Moore & Elizabeth Banks
Continuing on with my weekend fashion posts I just had to bring you a photo op I enjoyed viewing from New York Fashion Week which is happening as I produce word vomit from my keyboard.

Behold one of my favorite actresses Julianne Moore with her beautiful sidekick Elizabeth Banks attending the Tom Ford fashion show. How's that for name dropping???

Julianne as you may recall, or not was in Tom Ford's film directing debut A Single Man. Elizabeth has not only been in all three Pitch Perfect movies and made her directorial debut on Pitch Perfect 2.

These two look like they are truly enjoying each others company and are up to no good.

Oh to be a fly on their designer clothes...mic drop!

Crimes of Fashion

Kirstin Maldonado & Mitch Grassi
OK, as you all know I like the acapella group super group Pentatonix. Also some of you may know I was there from the start before they became worldwide superstars. "Yes" I covered them and know them and have the photos on this blog to prove it.

I will be the first to admit that even though their casual sense of style needed a little oomph in the beginning it was who they were and quite charming. Well that all changed after they signed with RCA a stylist stepped in and has been doing them no favors ever since.

Bear witness to the featured pic. Who in the F#ck told Mitch to sport the look of a 70's porn star, complete with a porn stache accessory?

Oh Kirstie, while I know you have eclectic fashion taste Morticia Addams called and she wants her look back.

Seriously you know I love you guys but it's time for a little push back on whoever is advising you on what to wear.

Trust. That is all Michael has left the building.

Friday Feeling

You Lookin' At Me?!
Josh Brolin
This image of Josh Brolin looking like he's ready to go a second round in Venice, CA  perfectly sums up how I am feeling on this Friday, February 9th, 2018.

Translation? Even if Josh isn't ready, I am more than ready for round two! Wanna take me on?

Having recently dropped 25 lbs and counting it feels like I am on the verge of something bigger than myself at present and what that is will reveal itself to me organically and intuitively in time.

Trust me the best things happen when you feel good about yourself - thus I urge all of you to get out and do things that make you feel that way. Number one on that list is exercise. I can't tell you what a difference it has made for me to keep a schedule that consists of four spin classes, one yoga class and boxing as part of  my weekly routine.

Boxing has been the thing that has propelled me as a person in all honesty. It makes me feel like I can take on anything and it, believe it or not, centers me.

Now you get why Josh is the poster boy for my Friday Feeling. Find an image of someone and something to inspire you today and then make that inspiration happen.

There is no time like now! T.G.I.F!

Michael's Musings

I Get My Kicks Below The Waistline, Sunshine
Michael Shinafelt
"I get my kicks above the waistline, sunshine" - Murray Head, One Night in Bangkok

The 80's hit One Night in Bangkok came to mind this week, Thus I juxtaposed the lyrics to caption my photo and then presented the actual ones.

Why? Well because the sentiments are two contrasting extremes and life is about balance. Like everyone some of my kicks are mental while others are physical.

But when mental and physical connect it's spectacular. In case you were wondering if that's something I have, why "yes" it is. If your happy and you know it clap your hands!

It's so bizarre, the floating chicken...

Hump Day & Chill

Mr. O'Connell I Presume
Jack O'Connell
Today I give 100% credit to Tye Briggs Favorite Hunks & Other Things for today's Hump Day man candy.

Jack O'Connell is an actor I have never heard of until I spied him, well, naked on Tye's blog coverage of him in a production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof in London

In this particular production of it Brick played by Jack starts and ends the first act totally nude on stage.

While the Tye's coverage is great as usual we all know what you want...the un-coverage!

That comes courtesy of images from a film Mr. O'Connell did in 2013 called Starred Up  you get to see everything, and it's spectacular!

So no more teasing on with the show. Hit it at the link and get your hump on!

A Need For Speed

Fast Car
Kylie Minogue
"No one wants to stay at home, Nobody wants to be alone, When you come knocking, I’ll be at your door" - Dancing, Kylie Minogue

No truer words were sung and Ms. Minogue certainly practices what she sings. Case in point here she is seen riding shotgun with Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag in the BMW i8 Safety Car during the Santiago ePrix.

Apparently she felt a need for speed on this particular day, but with her upcoming album Golden, not so much.

All we know is it will be out sometime in 2018, well that could mean the end of the year for all we know given the vague time frame.

C'mon Kylie your fans are waiting and like you, they have a need for speed as well!

Mic drop!

Sh!t Helen Mirren Says

Paint It Black
Helen Mirren
Let's face it at 72 Helen Mirren is da bomb! Look it's Helen looking stunning in black at a screening of her current movie Winchester

Based on the real life of Winchester rifle heiress Sarah Winchester here is the synopsis for it: The most haunted house in the world sits on an isolated stretch of land that's 50 miles outside of San Francisco. Built by Sarah Winchester, heiress to the Winchester fortune, it stands seven stories tall and contains hundreds of rooms. To an outsider, it looks like a monstrous monument to a disturbed woman's madness. But Sarah's actually building a prison, an asylum for hundreds of vengeful ghosts -- and the most terrifying among them have a score to settle with the Winchesters.

But that's not the point of today's post, today is Helen Mirren Day here on Entertain Me! I could extrapolate on why I adore her, but why don't we let this dame speak for herself. From the mouth of a broad here is some sh!t Helen Mirren says!

There's no good way to waste your time. Wasting time is just wasting time.

All you have to do is to look like crap on film and everyone thinks you're a brilliant actress. Actually, all you've done is look like crap.

I am so happy that I didn't have children. Well, you know, because I've had freedom. And I've so loved my freedom.

It's great to be queen!

The trick in life is learning how to deal with it.

Flesh sells. People don't want to see pictures of churches. They want to see naked bodies.

Girls go out together to see a chick flick or something. I loathe, I hate, chick flicks.

You write your life story by the choices you make. You never know if they have been a mistake. Those moments of decision are so difficult.

Want more Helen? Of course you do...!

Superbowl Schwing! Justin Timberlake

Bringing Booty Back
Justin Timberlake
Today is Superbowl 52, between the Philadelphia Eagles & the New England Patriots. Oh yeah! Lots of football players with tight asses!

However the main Schwing attraction for many at this edition of Gladiators Gone Wild is one Justin Timberlake.

Yep, good old Justin is the main, I mean half time show attraction.

Will he be bringing Sexy Back? Or will he Cry Me A River? If he's smart he will avoid Can't Stop This Feeling (blech!)

Butt one thing Justin does perfectly  is give good ass which is gloriously displayed in 2011's Friends With Benefits while he is "getting busy" with co-star Mila Kunis. I never saw the movie, butt luckily there is the WWW and bare booty shots make their way onto it.

So without further hyperbole here is Timberlake's delicious bum via Tye Briggs Favorite Hunks & Other Things.

Margaret Cho Extended

All Cho, No Bloat
Albert Sahnchez

She's here, she's extended, and it's huge!
Five time Grammy & Emmy nominated comedian Margaret Cho has announced brand new spring dates to her wildly popular “Fresh Off The Bloat” tour which launched last fall.

Margaret was named one of Rolling Stone magazine’s 50 Best Stand-Up Comics of All Time and has received rave reviews for the initial shows with the Chicago Tribune saying “Be it on-screen (“30 Rock,” “Drop Dead Diva”) or on stage, Margaret Cho has been one of the most exciting, unpredictable stand-up comics working for some time, and that hasn’t changed in 2017. If anything, the Asian-American female comedian’s voice has become more valuable than ever, given today’s social climate, and Cho’s material remains just as compelling, thanks in part to—and sometimes in spite of—her unapologetic delivery.”

“Fresh Off The Bloat” is certainly her sickest stand-up comedy show to date. A pioneer amongst women in comedy, Margaret doesn’t take anything for granted as she continues to tackle difficult subjects with sensitivity and her razor sharp insight with her takes on addiction, abuse, activism and Asianness. It's all about the politics of disgust and what is disgusting about politics. Aptly titled, Fresh Off The Bloat,” Margaret says, “Fresh Off The Bloat” is my sickest show to date.  My grandmother said "You look like bloated as if you've been found dead in a lake after several days of searching." Koreans are the most savage of all the Asians. My new show is all about being fresh off drugs and drinking and suicide and coming back to life - finally fished out of the river Styx. It's meta. It's magical. It's me.
