Don't Let The Door Hit You On The Way Out 2015!

Don't Be Grumpy, 2015 Is Almost Over!!!

While 2015 was far from the worst year I have ever had, there was plenty of room for improvement. It was mainly a year of transition where nothing really happened, but the changes, forced or not, on people's lives that were preparing them for an amazing 2016!!!

2015 also was a pretty boring year overall as well, and I will always remember it as the year ignorance raged on like a bonfire.

So to kiss this year off I have compiled a list of some positive headlines from it. Ya know to show 2015 a little gratitude for having successfully survived it.

Hot Hamburglar !

Where's The Beef?
Nick Jonas
Scream Queens star and possible Kate Hudson fling, Nick Jonas showed up to the 2015 Maxim Halloween Party dressed as the Hamburglar. Now this could make me start eating at McDonald's again! To top off the costume her toted his phone in a hamburger case.

All I have to say is Nick is not only successful and hot, he now proves he has a sense of humor and does not take himself too seriously! Yep, a great treat for Halloween indeed!

I for one am excited for Jonas to re-appear as his charming, sexy gay character Boone on Scream Queens (remember he was seen alive at the end of the last episode he was in) - wearing my favorite thing to see him in underwear and nothing else.

Or showing more skin in the show Kingdom!

Marc Jacobs Does "Believe" in Cher

What Cher is Wearing This Fall
As fall 2015 draws nigh, be on the lookout for images of Cher wearing Marc Jacobs for his fall 2015 campaign.

The multi-faceted Cher now has working Marc Jacobs designs this fall on her vast to do list.

Willow Smith is also on board as well, but does anyone really care with Cher occupying the same orbit?

Cher joining the campaign is definitely a smart move Mr. Jacobs. In Cher we "Believe!"

Happy Manic Monday!

Buffy & Willow 2015

A Buffy Reunion: Alyson Hannigan & Sarah Michelle Gellar
T.G.I.F Peeps!

Recently photos of Sarah Michelle Gellar & Alyson Hannigan reuniting in 2015 went viral.

As a Buffy The Vampire Slayer fan I was all a Twitter, ahem, so to speak.

In what appears to be a children's party or just a fun hang the twosome captured the moment and shared it with fans of the show.

Although I have loved them in other things, notably Gellar in Cruel Intentions and Hannigan in American Pie. Nothing will ever top Buffy.

Thanks for being such givers Sarah & Alyson.

Have a terrific weekend everyone...!

Billie Holiday Honored

The Great Billie Holiday!
PHILADELPHIA MUSIC ALLIANCE
TO CELEBRATE BILLIE HOLIDAY CENTENNIAL
AS 1st 2015 INDUCTEE ON PHILADELPHIA MUSIC WALK OF FAME

Today one of my favorite artists, Billie Holiday would have been 100 years old as a special Birthday gift she is set to be the first 2015 inductee on the Philadelphia Music Walk of Fame. God Bless The Child...

As a special birthday gift to the woman widely considered to be one of the greatest vocalists of the 20th century, The Philadelphia Music Alliance Walk of Fame is proud to welcome BILLIE HOLIDAY as its newest inductee today on the 100thanniversary of her birth in the City of Brotherly Love.

Billie Holiday, aka “Lady Day,” is only the first of this year’s inductees to be announced. The Philadelphia Music Alliance (PMA) will hold a press reception in late May to announce the rest of the Walk of Fame’s Class of 2015. Holiday and the rest of the new honorees will be formally inducted together in October during ceremonies along the Avenue of the Arts.

"The Philadelphia Music Alliance wanted to present what we think is a 'perfect' birthday gift to an extraordinary vocalist, Billie Holiday, and announce her induction on her 100th birthday," said Alan Rubens, Chairman of the Philadelphia Music Alliance.  "It will be an absolute pleasure to be able to walk down Broad Street and see her name where it rightfully belongs, on the Philadelphia Music Walk of Fame, with other homegrown jazz giants like John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie, McCoy Tyner, and Grover Washington Jr.”

Billie Holiday was born Elinore Harris on April 7, 1915 in Philadelphia General Hospital on Curie Boulevard in West Philadelphia. As the official marker on Lombard Street west of Broad Street from the Pennsylvania Historical Museum and Commission says, “[S]he was called the greatest jazz vocalist of her time. Starting in 1933, she recorded with Benny Goodman, Teddy Wilson, and others. Notable songs include ‘Lover Man,’ ‘Strange Fruit.’”

Holiday's voice was limited in size and range, but the emotional breadth of her singing — her ability to transmit desire and despair with utter clarity, and without sentimentality — was astonishing. Her soulful, unique singing voice and her ability to boldly turn any material that she confronted into her own music made Holiday a superstar of her time. Today, she’s remembered for her masterpieces, creativity and vivacity, as many of her songs are as well known today as they were decades ago. Holiday’s poignant voice is still considered to be one of the greatest jazz voices of all time. Though she had numerous outside influences, notably Louis Armstrong and Bessie Smith, Holiday built her reputation through her inner passion and a vocal style that was at once emotive and rugged. A vast array of singers have taken inspiration from Holiday's music and style including Diana Ross – who played her in the 1972 film "Lady Sings the Blues" – to Annie Lennox and the late Amy Winehouse.

As Philly’s own Jill Scott tells Vanity Fair: “Billie Holiday is guts. She is guts, and pain, and challenges. She is the sweetest pain…. Her voice gave me permission to have pain on a record. To convey the heart’s heart. To be able to sing songs about what is happening in society, as well. She did all this with a lot of freedom. There wasn’t a bunch of production. It was just Billie Holiday, being herself. All the miseries and all the wounds, and then reporting it, basically, to society. That is an artist. There is a difference between being an entertainer and an artist, and Billie Holiday is a true artist.”

The Philadelphia Music Alliance Walk of Fame is a living tribute to Philadelphia’s rich music history and a vital force unifying the city’s diverse cultural communities along the Avenue of the Arts. Holiday’s induction furthers the renewed commitment by the Philadelphia Music Alliance to shed new light on the City's cultural legacy and incredible contribution to the world of music past, present and future as a major tourist attraction. This agenda to recognize more local music greats in all genres is part of the community based, non-profit organization's overall mission to encourage the creation, celebration and historical preservation of Philadelphia music, and the foundation of a renewed commitment to schedule multiple induction ceremonies each year.

Dudley Saunders, "Jesus Didn't Love Us Enough"

Dudley Saunders

One of my favorite artists, Dudley Saunders, has just released a video for his song - Jesus Didn't Love Us Enough. Read the statement below from Dudley himself:

After a year of performing multimedia-style in IN THESE BOXES, I decided 2015 is about releasing all the videos I used.  Plus.  Meaning every two weeks until my entire catalog is up.

Here's the first one.

Now, back to work on the next video!

Best,
Dudley

It's Chumming! Sharknado 3!

You know the old saying "When pigs fly out my ass?" Well F#@k those trough eaters, the likelihood of sharks flying out your ass is inevitable, bitches!
That's correct flying out of our collective asses in 2015, Sharknado 3 is coming, or is that chumming?
Whatever! This I know Tara Reid and Ian Ziering are returning. Yippee ki yay shark bait!
Sharknado 2: The Second One was Syfy's most-watched original movie with 3.9 million viewers.
When viewers last saw Ziering's Fin and Reid's April, they were battling sharks in New York. Reid's character got a saw hand. Is that the opposite of a not seen hand, just asking?
Location, location, location.. Ian Ziering had different ideas on that topic. "I think it should be a European city. We have so many foreign fans, I think we should take the movie to them," Ziering stated "I thought wouldn't it be great instead of demolishing a city, if we, through a Sharknado, could rebuild it? Wouldn't it be fantastic if we went to Italy and Sharknado straightened the Leaning Tower of Pisa."
Food for thought.

Brooke Shields Inspires

Brooke Shields: Hot and She Knows It

So this 49 year old got back from Christmas with his family and hit the eating healthy and back to the gym thing. When what to my wandering eyes online did appear? A fantastic photo of a same aged Brooke Shields, minus the tiny reindeer.

Brooke looks amazing at 49, and is my inspiration for the New Year to make myself my own personal best I can be.

OK, I will never look like Ms. Shields, for obvious reasons. The main one being I am not a woman.

She is inspirational though as she has been one of the few Hollywood stars who has aged gracefully without a grotesque Nip/Tuck - a show which she has guest starred on coincidentally.

Am I saying she hasn't had work? No. I actually have nothing against plastic surgery I would get it on my eyes if I had the dough. What I am stating is, she has aged well and looks like a magnificent older version of herself.

Yes, I am a Brooke fan, from The Blue Lagoon to Suddenly Susan, I think she is terrific!

She currently has a tell all book out that is quite juicy titled: There Was a Little Girl: The Real Story of My Mother and Me.

Best to the two of us turning 50 in 2015, Cheers!

LA screening event with Mark Mothersbaugh, Gerald V. Casale & Bob Mothersbaugh, Director Keirda Bahruth and Producer Rick Ballard

Saturday, January 17 - 7:30 PM
6712 Hollywood Boulevard
Hollywood, CA 90028 Map

Watch ROLLING STONE premiere "Uncontrollable Urge" HERE

DEVO was among the most thought-provoking bands to emerge in the aftermath of punk, but before hits like "Whip It," they worked in the basements and garages of Akron, Ohio to make raw, unfiltered music that the group called "Hardcore DEVO."

In the summer of 2014, DEVO did ten shows performing these seminal pre-fame songs, created between 1974 and 1977 and rarely played since then. Shot at the Fox Theater in Oakland, California, this exciting concert film captures these groundbreaking artists performing the songs that started it all, interwoven with interviews revealing the history of the band. In total, these 21 oddities serve as a tribute to departed, original DEVO bandmate, Robert "Bob 2" Casale.

A special screening event will be held on Saturday, January 17th at 7:30 PM at the Egyptian Theatre (6712 Hollywood Boulevard - Hollywood, CA 90028). A discussion with director Keirda Bahruth, coproducer Rick Ballard, and DEVO members Mark Mothersbaugh, Gerald V. Casale, and Bob Mothersbaugh will follow.

"Fashion Police" Will Still Be On Patrol

Pull Over In The Name Of Fashion: Fashion Police

Joan RiversFashion Police legacy will still go on without her. Cue My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion, kidding, I am sure Joan would appreciated the joke though...

E! Announced recently after a lot of consideration, Rivers' colleagues came to the conclusion that the show must go on.

"We decided, with Melissa Rivers' blessing, that Joan would have wanted the franchise to continue," the statement continued. "Fashion Police will return in 2015 commencing with Golden Globes coverage on Monday, January 12. No further details will be announced at this time."

Joan was the face of the show and her high heels are big ones to fill.

"They are looking at different scenarios, a lot of that will be up to [Melissa] and how she's feeling and how she decides what she wants to do, along with the execs here at E!. There is no word now -- they are seeing what Fashion Police looks like without Joan."

Fashion Police will not be the same without Joan, how could it? She was one of a kind, but her legacy should continue and will, that's the way she would have wanted it.

Keep Calm And Joan Rivers
