Michael's Musings

Peek-A-Boo, I See U & I Know What U Do
Michael Shinafelt
Once upon a time there was a man who lived in a house of cards...and so the story goes. It's that time of week when I spout word vomit.

This past week brought us a variety of things, such as The Grammy's, Valentine's Day, Fifty Shades Darker and the shit show we all affectionately refer to as Donald Tump.

Wonder what will spew fourth from the corners of my mind this week? Let's find out...

Lady Gaga continues to amaze and show her versatility by teaming up with Metallica and blowing us away by nailing hardcore rock music. I wasn't surprised she could get her head banger on, and frankly I wished she do an album of it.

Thirsty Ivanka is a thing. Apparently Ms. Trump inherited her father's lech gene, I am sure by now you all got a look at the way she drooled when she met Justin Trudeau.

VD was Tuesday, and that of course meant the release of the Fifty Shades of Grey sequel Fifty Shades Darker - a Harlequin Romance for the domestic abuse set.

Let me extrapolate on the domestic abuse comment re: Fifty Shades. Author E.L. James is a terrible writer. I read two paragraphs excerpted online from the first novel and couldn't bear anymore. Not to mention she does not know the first thing about BDSM. Anastasia Steele is an abused woman, end of story.

Dear Pentatonix, please get a new stylist
Fierce! This is How U Red Carpet!

Remember that time when James Hetfield's mic didn't work at The Grammy's? So does everyone else. Really Grammy's?! The whole premise of the fucking award is based on sound, enough said.

AC/DC said it best: "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap"

Toughen up buttercups, it's going to be a wild ride!

Ask yourself this, are you a good little pony worthy of a biscuit?

In case you were wondering, Erika Jayne is my favorite Real Housewife of Beverly Hills. She out classes and sasses them all while giving no fucks.

Enjoy your Thursday, it's the day before Friday after all.

Guns N' Roses "Leave Your Ugly Friends At Home"

No Plus Ones
Guns N' Roses
"She's got a smile it seems to me, Reminds me of childhood memories" - Sweet Child Of Mine, Guns N' Roses

One of my favorite rock groups evah, Guns N Roses have reunited and hit the road. They recently played Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles

Well since LA is the city of illusion the aging Casanova's team shot off an E-mail to Photogenics a modeling agency based in the City of Angels extending an invite to every female model on their roster.

The first fifty got free seats in the first couple of rows, backstage passes and a coveted spot on the guest list to the after party at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

Rule of accepting this invite no plus ones, only models. Marketing at it's finest.

In the immortal words of AC/DC: Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap!

My Quick Take On The Grammy's

Annie Lennox - Queen of the Night
Opening with AC/DC pleased this Rock N Roll dudes heart, yes, it truly is a Highway To Hell people!

While I was a huge Madonna fan once that was so Confessions On A Dance Floor ago.

Madonna so sucked last night it was like a vacuum on it's last legs - I am over gay men who are drooling over her performance. (hey being one I have a lot of them on my Facebook page, so this is first hand experience.)

Annie Lennox was IT last night, she had the last werd!

Have loved her since the Eurythmics and all of her solo work is bomb!

Although Hozier is very talented I was annoyed and over hearing his song Take Me To Church. My spin instructor has been playing it every class for the last 3 months, I go Saturday and Sunday, do that math!

Note to Kanye West, quit always defending Beyonce you jackhole. She was tre' boring last night. If people weren't already asleep by the end of the show, they sure would have dozed off then.

Taylor Swift, quit getting down, white girl you have no rhythm and it's uncomfortable when the camera cuts to you and you pretend to.

Katy Perry is a lovely and gracious loser.

Congratulations Sam Smith, the appeal is lost on me.

Love Beck, but I did not even know he had an album out last year.

Jessi J. & Tom Jones, that was cool. Not a show stealing performance like Annie Lennox, but fifty shades of cool none the less.

Pentatonix so glad you won, you deserved it for your Daft Punk medley.

Yeah, I'm done, I said it was a quick take, capice?

Until next year!

Are You Good Monsters Or, "Hollywood Monsters" ?

King Kong, Godzilla, King Kong, Godzilla...My Sister, My Daughter...

Hollywood Monsters - Big Trouble

Eeny Meeny Miny Moe, grab Hollywood Monsters by the toe...

Featuring Tim Bogert (Vanilla Fudge, Cactus - on bass), Don Airey (Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Michael Schenker - on keyboards), and Vinnie Appice (Dio, Black Sabbath - on drums)

Hollywood Monsters are the brainchild of vocalist, guitarist, composer, Stephane Honde, a French expatriate, who after living in Los Angeles since 2012, recently moved to Sacramento, California) Honde first became noticed when fronting Mamooth, subsequently garnering a well-deserved reputation as a guitar virtuoso when playing in Cafe Bertrand, a French rock group he joined in 2004. The band toured, playing humongous stadiums such as the Stade de France, with an audience capacity in excess of 80.000 - performing with classic rock giants such as AC/DC and Deep Purple, the latter for whom they opened on thirty-six dates across Europe in November 2006, and another 12 in March of 2007.

Honde recorded two albums with Cafe Bertrand - both critically acclaimed and commercially successful - "Les Airs Empruntes" (2005) and "L'Art Delicat du Rock'N'Roll" (2008), before leaving the band in 2011. Honde then embarked on a length tour with Paul Di'Anno, oriignal voaclist with Iron Maiden before absconding to California. Once in Los Angeles Stephane Honde befriended Tim Bogert, coaxed him out of retirment and convinced Bogert to play on his debut album...and voila, the Hollywood Monsters were born.

Stephane Honde recently signed an agreement with Mausoleum Records for the release of the debut album entitled "Big Trouble" by his new band: Hollywood Monsters. The talented Hollywood Monsters line-up on "Big Trouble," besides Tim Bogert (Vanilla Fudge, Cactus) - on bass, additionally welcomes the performances of some more of Stephane's talented pals, including: Don Airey (Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Michael Schenker and dozens more - on keyboards), and Vinnie Appice (Dio, Black Sabbath - on drums), the latter for whom Stephane had written the song "Village Of The Damned" as an hommage...before ever meeting Vinnie!
