Macho Man - Burt Reynolds

Deliverance
Burt Reynolds
Burt Reynolds passed away yesterday at the age of 82. He was an actor, a movie star and manly perfection. Which he proved time and time again in the roles he played.

Nobody did it better than Burt. He first came to my youthful attention for the infamous film Deliverance which I have to revisit since I viewed it when I was way too young to fully comprehend it.

I was however hooked on Burt a few of my favorite Reynolds films, beside Deliverance? Starting Over, Sharky's Machine, Boogie Nights, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas to name a few...

Oddly enough I never saw any of the Smokey and the Bandit movies. For some reason they never appealed to me.

But the thing that will always stick with me most about Burt was his iconic nude centerfold for Cosmopolitan. Wow! Seeing that as a young impressionable gay man was quite stunning. Words can't describe how that shaped my world, but trust me, it did.

R.I.P. stud.

We're kicking off with an excellent selection of interviews
That's right, we're streaming Dr. Ruth's '80s interviews with celebrities, rock stars and lots of special guests. Dr. Ruth's shows are known for their mix of on-air therapy sessions and candid celebrity interviews. We preserved these 12 episodes in their original format, so you'll get the full Ruth experience. For our first batch, we bring you Jerry Seinfeld, LL Cool J, Burt Reynolds, Anthrax, Gloria Steinem and more... Watch.
An eclectic mix of Dr. Ruth programming from 1984-1992
Our first batch of episodes highlights the diversity of Dr. Ruth's programming. From the very popular mid '80s program "Good Sex with Dr. Ruth," to 1989's teen advice show "What's Up Dr. Ruth," you'll get the feel for Dr Ruth's signature formats and style.
In these episodes, you'll see Ruth answer letters on the air, stage short therapy sessions with troubled couples in studio, and answer phone calls from the TV audience watching at home. There are other surprises now and then too, but you'll just have to watch the episodes to see what happens.
What Dr. Ruth Westheimer did for the conversation around sex in the '80s broke the mold and had a real social impact while being wildly entertaining. We're honored to help preserve this legacy. Start watching tonight!

Snuggle Up With Ryan Reynolds

Come Hither It's Ryan Reynolds
Ryan Reynolds wants to seduce you as Deadpool.
He shared a photo of himself dressed as the anti-hero he originally played in X-Men Origins: Wolverine on Twitter this past Friday.
The image is a parody of the 1972 nude centerfold Burt Reynolds did for Cosmopolitan.
Along with the photo he also Tweeted "No bears were harmed in the making of this photo, though many bears were likely turned on."
Cheeky.
The Deadpool movie is out February 12, 2016.
