Seniors, A Dogumentary

SENIORS, A DOGUMENTARY

Coming to DVD and VOD on September 29th

Featuring the photography of Jane Sobel Klonsky, the author of UNCONDITIONAL, a best selling photo book from National Geographic

NEW HAVEN, CT: Seniors, A Dogumentary, the newest feature-length animal documentary from filmmaker Gorman Bechard is set for release on DVD and Video-On-Demand on September 29, 2020.

The film is a passionate portrayal of the vitality of senior dogs, and the people who cherish and protect them. Featuring the beloved Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary of Mount Juliet, Tennesse and Chaser the Border Collie, known as "The Smartest Dog In the World," their stories converge through the keen lens of famed photographer Jane Sobel Klonsky, author of the book Unconditional: Older Dogs, Deeper Love.

Director Bechard, creator of A Dog Named Gucci, winner of the 2015 ASPCA Media Excellence Award, wanted to make an animal welfare film which would highlight a need yet make people smile. "We see so much animal abuse on a day-to-day basis," he explains, "especially on social media. I wanted to make an animal film that would bring a smile to everyone's face. It's hard not to fall in love with these dogs!"

The film follows Zina and Michael Goodin, the Old Friends founders, as they relocate into their current facilities, and introduces us to Leo, social media star and the most popular dog in the sanctuary's history. We also meet Chaser and her owner Dr. John W. Pilley Jr, who spent his final years working to show just how much a dog was capable of learning, even into her senior years. Not only did Chaser learn the names of over one thousand toys, she was able to differentiate between nouns and verbs, understand full sentences, and mimic Pilley's actions after observing them just once. Seniors, A Dogumentary also features a song from Nashvillle musician Matthew Ryan.

The DVD, coming from the MVD Entertainment Group, features numerous extras, including the World Premiere Q&A from Nashville's Belcourt Theatre in March, with Bechard and most of the film's participants.

That one and only screening brought 31 user reviews to IMDb, with the film averaging a rating of 9.7, and eliciting comments like: "A great uplifting movie," "Best documentary of the year," and " Heartwarming, happy, and inspiring!"

Dog Duty

Doggy Style
Dylan McDermott
It's time to let the dogs out, that's correct minions tis the day for Dog Duty, surrender the leash!

Oh, and what better way to report for such a task than with stud Dylan McDermott walking his pooch (not a euphemism) in NYC.

Dylan is so hunky, how hunky is he you ask? Well he actually attended a play I was in many moons ago, where I bared my backside to the audience and my front side to my fellow cast members.

I believe he was there because one of my co-stars was his waiter at a restaurant and told him about it. Anyway...he has the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen and so handsome to boot.

What does this have to do with Dog Duty you may ask? Nothing really, I simply used the dog walking pic as an excuse to swoon over Dylan. "Yes" I am feeling naughty - so there!

Now get out there and crack that whip (this is a euphemism)

Ciao!

I Wanna Be Your Dog

What's wrong with the world going to the dogs???

Dogs Of Democracy coming to DVD on June 12th via EPF Media

A film about the stray dogs of Athens and the people who take care of them...
A universal story about love and loyalty.

"A powerful film narrative, the stray dogs of central Athens are transformed from mere symbols of a peculiar freedom to witnesses of a heart-wrenching human crisis."
- Yanis Varoufakis, Greek economist, academic and politician
Dogs of Democracy is a documentary about the stray dogs of Athens and the people who take care of them. Filmmaker Mary Zournazi explores life on the streets through the eyes of the dogs and peoples' experience. Shot on location in Athens, the birthplace of democracy, the documentary is about how Greece has become the 'stray dogs of Europe', and how the dogs have become a symbol of hope for the people and for the anti-austerity movement. A universal story about love and loyalty and what we might learn from animals.
