"We Belong Together" KC and the Sunshine Band

Butterflies + Happiness = KC and the Sunshine Band

KC and The Sunshine Band premiered the audio of their new single, “We Belong Together,” on PerezHilton.com. The song is the latest in an iconic four decade career that has promoted love, unity and happiness through music. Penned by Harry Wayne "KC" Casey, “We Belong Together” captured what the Grammy Award winner was feeling when he first heard the track.

“I remember, I had just met someone, and it was right at that beginning stage when just the sound of their name gives you butterflies,” said KC. “It was around the time my namesake Casey Nayman, who is a DJ and the son of my close friend Larry, brought me this track and ‘We Belong Together’ was born. It came from that feeling of just wanting to be with someone, and knowing you belong with this person.”

Have Some "Sunshine" For Christmas

Have yourself a Merry Little Sunshine Band Christmas!

No matter your distance from the equator this holiday season, the multi-platinum selling, Miami-born dance group,KC and The Sunshine Band, delivers A Sunshine Christmas. The brand new 12-track album is now available in stores and on iTunesAmazon and other digital realms. With four of the album's tracks penned by lead singer, Harry Wayne "KC" Casey, A Sunshine Christmas fuses original never-before-heard songs with holiday favorites from decades past including "The Little Drummer Boy," "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town," "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas," "Last Christmas," "Do You Hear What I Hear," "Carol Of The Bells,"and "Go Tell It On The Mountain."

The sunny new music though seasonal, is cheery and upbeat for all-year round, and is infused with the band's signature sounds of trombone, saxophone and trumpet which helped to make mega hits like "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty," "That's The Way (I Like It)," "Get Down Tonight," "Boogie Shoes," among a multitude of others, so wildly memorable.

Months in the studio to record the band's latest studio album, Feeling You! The 60s, (March 2015), spurred KC to write, record and produce a holiday album that would challenge the traditional cold-weather themes which make up much of today's popular Christmas music. Instead, with the new project, KC and his band strive to bring its listeners to the beaches of Miami where The Sunshine Sound was born.

"I've always loved the holidays… It's my favorite time of the year. A friend had said to me, 'You know, KC? There's never been a Christmas album done 'Sunshine Band' style.' The wheels started turning, and 'Jingle Bell Boogie,' was written in just a few days," said KC, who's been widely dubbed the Founder of The Dance Revolution since his reign in the 70s.

"Some of the tracks are classics that the band and I have put our own spin on over the years, like 'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,' and then there's new material, like 'Jingle Bell Boogie,' which came from my heart. The remaining tracks like 'Carol Of The Bells," are classics reimagined in a way unique to me and my band," he added. "I hope when friends and family are gathered together celebrating, or co-workers are cutting loose at their holiday party, that my record will be playing in the background and bringing some happiness as we look back on the blessings we've enjoyed over the past year."

The award-winning Unity On The Bay Choir, which hails from South Florida, joins KC as the background chorus on the ambient stand-out track, "Carol Of The Bells," and premiere track "The After Christmas Song," penned by KC, kicks off the album with an addictive drumbeat as it wishes listeners a "Happy New Year" at Christmas's end. Colorful cover art of an animated beachfront complete with lighted palm trees, blue parrots and a bright shining sun successfully communicate the tropical essence of the project as a whole.

A Sunshine Christmas was co-produced by Harry Wayne "KC" Casey, the group's lead singer, and Eric Lue Young, with Marc Burrows as a co-producer on select tracks. It was recorded at Circle House Studios in KC's hometown of Miami, Florida for Sunshine Productions, Inc. and distributed in partnership with Sony RED.

"Get Down" KC Is On Top!

KC AND THE SUNSHINE BAND BREAKS TOP 30 ON THE BILLBOARD DANCE CHARTS FOR FIRST TIME IN 31 YEARS

Accolade Comes Exactly Forty Years After Band's First No. 1 Single "Get Down Tonight," Topped Chart on August 30, 1975

KC is doing what he does best, topping....the charts!

August 30, 2015 marked exactly forty years since KC and The Sunshine Band’s 70s decade-defining and transcendent dance hit “Get Down Tonight,” topped the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, marking the band’s first mega No. 1 hit that would spawn several more, and an over forty year career that's still going today. Now, for the first time in 31 years, the Miami-born group led by Harry Wayne "KC" Casey celebrates their first Billboard chart single in 31 years in “I Love You More,” currently at No. 30 on the Billboard Dance Chart.

The electronic and techno-infused "I Love You More," a Tony Moran Mike Lorello radio mix, is gaining popularity among DJs and dance clubs from coast to coast. Penned by Casey, he never expected the tremendous reaction it's been getting.

"In 2013 I woke up out of some sort of musical coma. And started writing again with the energy I had forty years ago. 'I Love You More' is a result of this new energy and path that I am currently on. The song is about having so much love for someone that each day it continues to grow," said Casey.

KC and the Sunshine Band, Yep, Disco Never Died

I'm With The KC and the Sunshine Band
KC AND THE SUNSHINE BAND PROVES DISCO NEVER DIED WITH NON-STOP ON-SCREEN APPEARANCES SINCE THE 70s INCLUDING 2015 BLOCKBUSTER HIT, KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE

Celebrating Over 40 Years Together, The Band Transcends Over 200 Musical Appearances in Films, Television Commercials, TV Shows and Video Games

I knew it in 20013 when I had an exclusive interview with KC himself, this band would hit the comeback road in a big way...thus I jumped at the chance to exchange sound bites with the legendary man himself check it out at the link below, and here's what he and his posse are up to now!!!

It's been over forty years since KC and The Sunshine Band danced onto the music scene, transforming the landscape of pop music, and creating a signature sound spanning generations young and old. With sales of over 100 million records, nine Grammy nominations, three Grammy Awards and an American Music Award, they are still known today as one of the most progressive bands of the 70s; and in the midst of a millennial, digital age, their music is still discovered daily by millions around the world through its continual placement in top box office movies, TV commercials, TV shows and video games. This month, the band celebrates international recognition with 1984 hit "Give It Up," licensed for use in one of the leading scenes in blockbuster action movie, KINGSMAN: The Secret Service -- marking over 200 on-screen musical appearances for KC and The Sunshine Band.

Whether the scene is fun and light-hearted or violent like in KINGSMAN, (where "Give It Up" plays as the villain acts out his infernal plan), and new Australian indie film, Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead, (where "Get Down Tonight" is the anthem of choice as the lead character, a mad scientist, goes to town on terrified, live "cadavers" in his lab), KC and The Sunshine Band seems to have created an R&B, funk and disco infused soundtrack for pretty much every type of scene imaginable, whether its scored by music supervisors out of irony, or logic.

"It makes me happy to know that my music has withstood the test of time," said Harry Wayne "KC" Casey. "Disco and funk have never really gone away. Look at Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' current No. 1 Billboard smash, "Uptown Funk." That song takes it back to the sound of my day. I'm glad to see my musical style being preserved not only on-screen but in current radio hits too."

Over the past forty years, the list of films and commercials KC's music has been summoned for is seemingly endless. In the early 70s, at the height of the KC and The Sunshine Band phenomenon, they made their on-screen debut with "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty," in Top of the Pops and The Brady Bunch Hour, before "That's The Way I Like It," made its way into a comedic skit inSaturday Night Live. Then, in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s, viewers and KC were reacquainted once again in Deuce Bigalow, Blow, Legally Blonde, Austin Powers, Saving Silverman, Rush Hour, The Simpsons, Dr. Dolittle, Forrest Gump, The Players Club, Space Jam, Picture Perfect and She's So Lovely, to name a few.

More recently, in 2010, Sun Life Financial enlisted KC and his band as actors in its TV ad, humorously commissioning the band to change their name to the "SunLife Band," and their Saturday Night Fever hit, "Boogie Shoes," made its resurgence in 2014 in a Raisin Bran commercial. Other modern-day hit series like Scandal, The Big Bang Theory, Dancing With The Stars, Lovelace, Three Many Weddings, and the East Enders have all featured KC's music within the past two years. Furthermore, this March, Director Mark Moormann and Beacon Films, LLC will bring the music and career legacy of KC and The Sunshine Band to the Miami International Film Festival in the feature-length documentary, THE RECORD MAN, capturing the life of KC's long-time producer and record executive Henry Stone.

Though so much history is written, KC and his band are not ready to call it quits. Their long-awaited new album Feeling You! The 60s, will impact stores, iTunes and Amazon on Tuesday, March 10. A tribute to the era that shaped H.W. Casey into the revolutionary artist he became in the 70s, the brand-new release is part one of the two-partFeeling You project, and features covers of songs by sixties legends Bob Dylan, Ben E. King, The Kinks, The Righteous Brothers, Jackie DeShannon, Aaron Neville and many more.

“I’m excited for my fans to hear this album,” said KC. “I really went outside of the box vocally and creatively. Feeling You! The 60s is autobiographical, showing how I feel about love, life and the world through the music of that era.”

Pre-order the album on Amazon here: http://hyperurl.co/kcthe60samazon, and look for it on iTunes beginning March 3. Fans who purchase the album early will receive the "instant grat" free track download from the album, "You Really Got Me," (originally recorded by The Kinks).

KC and the Sunshine Band Will Be "Feeling You" In 2015

Features Songs by Sixties Legends Bob Dylan, Ben E. King, The Kinks, The Righteous Brothers, Jackie DeShannon, Aaron Neville & More

Face it everyone loved KC and the Sunshine band at the height of their popularity in pop music. Who could resist songs like "Shake Your Booty" & "I'm Your Boogie Man?"

Well they have a new album of 60's covers coming in 2015, yep KC and the Sunshine Band are going to be "Feeling You" in the New Year, oh yes they are!

KC and The Sunshine Band dominated the 1970s, ruling the airwaves with a unique meeting of Caribbean, pop, R&B and latin styles that inspired infectious grooves and the distinctive Sunshine Sound, producing such #1 hits as “Get Down Tonight,” “That’s the Way (I Like It),” “Boogie Shoes,” "Shake Your Booty,” and many more. Before he impacted the world, teaching them how to boogie, Harry Wayne “KC” Casey was, like the rest of America, being shaped by the music, conflicts, innocence, sex, social and political movements and counterculture of the 1960s.

“The widespread social and political issues of the 1960s was, in part, the inspiration to do something that would make people forget about their problems and be happy,” said Casey. “People were looking for something that would divert their attention from the negative aspects of everyday life surrounding them.”

KC and The Sunshine Band pays tribute to the era on March 10, 2015, with Feeling You! The 60's. "Shake Your Booty" KC and the Sunshine Band

It's KC...!
KC & the Sunshine Band has earned lifetime worldwide album sales well past the 100 million mark and secured #1 hit smashes with “That’s the Way (I Like It),” “Get Down Tonight,” and “(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty” as well as numerous signature songs like “I’m Your Boogie Man,” “Boogie Shoes,” “Keep It Comin’ Love,” “Please Don’t Go” and more...

The band is celebrating 40 years by going on tour both across the country and internationally. Oh and they have some new music out, hit it KC!

MS: Hey KC, it's funny I was watching one of my favorite shows last night, "Scandal" and you had a song on there last night.

KC: What song?

MS: "Get Down Tonight" I thought well isn't that ironic, I am speaking with him tomorrow.

KC: A little haunting there, wasn't it? (laughs)

MS: You've had a 40 year career which is pretty amazing!

KC: That is pretty killer! The fact that I'm still alive, too!

MS: Part of that has to do with your knowledge of how the music business works, you started out doing a internship in the biz.

KC: I surrounded myself with something I loved. When I worked in record distribution I was able to know exactly what was coming out on the radio before it was even promoted.

MS: Well it worked in your favor, your videos on YouTube have millions of hits.

KC: That's pretty crazy, right?

MS: I had an album with some of your music on it when I was growing up.

KC: Oh, was that one of those K-Tel compilations?

MS: Yes! It was K-Tel.

KC: There's a company called Now 100 that does the same thing currently.

MS: I've never heard of them, but my knowledge of current music is limited. I lean more towards alternative music.

KC: My musical taste is R & B, unfortunately I think music froze my taste for me on that. It seems like it's coming back around, but I don't think it will ever be like those great R & B records from the 60's & 70's, ya know.

MS: Ike & Tina Turner were my favorites from that era, their stuff was amazing!

KC: They were incredible. I grew up with all the Mowtown stuff, Atlantic Records, you know, with The Drifters and Aretha Franklin....God all that great music.

MS: Let's address what being in the music business for 40 years has been like for you, what kind of a ride has it been?
Get Down Tonight

KC: Well, you know, it has been exciting! There have been some ups and downs, some of them were calculated, well all of it has been I made all or the decisions and did what I wanted to do. In the beginning it was very lonely for me and also very exciting. I was very saddened to find out how political the business was, I knew that going in, but I did not realize it was as political to the extreme that it is. It was disheartening and kind of took the bang out of the whole thing...that was the 70's.

In the 80's after my last hit with "Give It Up" I kind of retired and partied up until '93 - '95, until I went into drug rehab. During that part of my career I didn't want to have a career, I didn't want to be told what to do anymore...how to do it, when to smile, when not to smile, when to be happy, when not to be happy, I didn't want to have to worry about making a record or dealing with lawyers and agents, managers or anything. I just shut down and partied, I wanted to get back to the reality of life, which was who I was, all that sort of thing.

Then in the 90's Arenio Hall wanted to see a reunion of the band. I did a reunion show and realized: "Wow, dude this is what you really love to do". So I started booking shows and started doing it again, but in '93 I was still on the drug thing, I had to make a choice do I go back to my career or keep partying? I chose my career.

I've been performing again for the last ten years doing all these shows and stuff. It's taken me thirty to forty years of the last ten years to realize "I'm KC of KC and the Sunshine Band" number one, number two to understand everything that happened to me and be comfortable with it. Most importantly to go with the flow more and stop fighting everything.

MS: Oh, I get that.

KC: Understanding being KC and having my life outside of that.

MS: The down time can be weird, you kind of feel like you should be on all the time.

KC: Right!

MS: Let's talk about your song "I Can't Get You Out of My Mind".

KC: My manager suggested I get in touch with Bimbo Jones - their DJ's in Europe, who've done remixes for Madonna, Lady Gaga...you name it. I met with them, they sent me this track and nothing clicked. So I went on tour and then went on Holiday, so a year later I contacted them about working on the track, I was procrastinating, I don't really know why I was doing that. So I put that track on and listened to it, and all of the sudden, boom! The melody was there, the word were there, the title was there! Everything just started happening like crazy, insane I had no control over it, I went in the studio and did the vocal, pretty much within an hour.

Right now we are getting a lot of remixes of the song, from the song an album has started happening as well, that has evolved into two albums now. (laughs)
