Visions Of Babysitters Screaming Danced In Their Heads...

Boo!
l -r
Annie, Laurie & Lynda

What would Halloween be without this iconic trio of Babysitters. So here they are straight outta Haddonfield, IL Laurie Strode, Lynda van der Klok & Annie Brackett!

As we know one of these things is not like the other and managed to escape to Notorious MM (Michael Myers) and become the ultimate Final Girl.

While the other two met their grisly fate at the hands of the Boogeyman.

Even thought Michael Myers is the ultimate Halloween icon (Laurie Strode is right up there with him) where would he be without these young women screaming in terror and being his victims? I ask you??? I'm waiting...forever I'm guessing.

So remember without Laurie, Lynda & Annie you are nothing Michael Myers!

So There.

Halloween is tomorrow Minions gird your loins...

Halloween Kills

Revenge of the Nerd
Anthony Michael Hall
You knew it was inevitable after Halloween 2018 made $159,342,015 million at the domestic BO on a $10 million budget, coming at ya October 16, 2020 the f/u Halloween Kills...Yikes!

Anyone who knows me, knows I am a HUGE fan of the original Halloween and of the 2018 reboot. So what could make the news of this sequel even better? Well I was also a fan of John Hughes films as well and guess what? Perennial Hughes nerd Anthony Michael Hall is joining the cast as, wait for it...Tommy Doyle

For the uninitiated Tommy Doyle is the boy that Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie Strode (who, duh, is of course returning) was babysitting in the 1978 original.

The scene in Halloween 1978 where she tells Tommy Doyle to run across the street to the neighbor’s house is one of my favorites - it has an authentic urgency to it that still resonates with me to this day.

OK, my excitement meter for this follow up just rose to an insane level of anticipation!

Halloween 2018

Halloween 2018
So this weekend, like many, I saw the current incarnation of Halloween starring the fantastic Jamie Lee Curtis. What a clever idea it was to abolish all the other sequels and make a direct one to the original 40 years later.

While I don't review movies I would like to give you my thoughts on this one. To put it enthusiastically this is the sequel that the original 1978 Halloween deserved/deserves!

Every little thing about it is just right from the atmosphere to the tone. Jamie Lee Curtis is dead on as traumatized woman suffering from PTSD. Too bad they don't nominate performances from these types of films for an Oscar, since Jamie Lee deserves one for it!

Behind You! Behind You!
Jamie Lee Curtis & The Boogeyman aka Michael Myers
This movie is also quite meta, there are many references to the 1978 classic as well as a wink and a nod to Halloween III: Season of the Witch - "yes" some kids wear the Silver Shamrock masks while out and about tricking peeps for treats.

Michael Myers is still as terrifying as ever and I just loved this movie! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time!

There is only one quibble I have with it. The "New Loomis" what was up with that cornball fake accent? Seriously?!

I give Halloween a five knifes up, out of five!
