Michael's Musings

Come Closer, It Doesn't Smell
Michael Shinafelt
"I wish I was like you...Easily amused" - All Apologies, Nirvana

It takes a lot to amuse me in the world of entertainment. In life not so much there are so many amusing and amazing people, places & things to engage in the world around us. While I am not one of those overly perky people I am certainly not a pessimist either. I would clarify myself as a realist.

Life is a series of moments and how you experience them is up to you....time to throw me in the shallow water before I get too deep!

Let's all put on a folk hat and learn something about a foreign culture

Khloe Kardashian & Kylie Jenner are both pregnant. Smells like ratings spirit

Did you know you can purchase Vampire Repellent from Gwyneth Paltrow's life style brand Goop? It's supposed to ward off "Emotional Vampires" - I can save you $100, cut them out of your life. Yeah, it's that simple.

R.I.P. Hugh Hefner you were a true original

Started up yoga again my arms and back are SAF! But it's worth it!

Turns out Tyra Banks is good for something. Whilst trying to treat my dry skin issue I remembered some celebrity had once said they use Vaseline on their face. It works, and the celeb was Tyra.

Vulgarity is an important ingredient of life. F#ck you if you disagree!

Send In The Insane Clown Posse
American Horror Story
No matter what I think about it this season of American Horror Story is certainly the most audacious!

When someone asks you why the response should always be: Because I can

AT&T needs me to spank them, hard!

What's on my mind? You, you are always on my mind

No one needs squad goals - are you listening Taylor Swift???

'Tis The Season For S-E-X With Pamela Anderson

So as the world probably knows, OK for sure they know. Pamela Anderson will appear as the cover model and pictorial for the last nude issue of the iconic magazine Playboy. Yeah, don't ask me why they are ending their wonderful balance between class & sass some financial expert must have advised Hugh Hefner on that. Best Wishes.

Let's get back to Pamela. In my estimation Playboy hailed the official queen of that magazine. The most perfect cover model/icon ever and someone who I greatly respect as a person.

Why you ask? Because I have interacted with her. "Yes" I did an interview with her for Instinct Magazine, for the now defunct column: The Chick We'd Switch For.

She was charming, sweet and very giving during our chat on the phone. She then invited me down to her book signing for Star, which she co-wrote. At The West Hollywood Book Fair. She loves her gays and it was an invitation I gladly accepted.

I was V.I.P. before anyone else, yeah hate me I didn't have to wait in line. She was sweet, remembered me from our phone conversation and even personalized a copy of Star with an autograph dedicated specifically to my Mom ( I gave it to her as a Christmas gift that year.)

Below I hope you can read it, is my interview with Ms. Anderson.

Have A Sexy Holiday Season!

It's All About The Hef, Hugh Hefner That Is

Tony Palmer's 1973 Film About Hugh Hefner, The Founder and
Editor of Playboy, to be released on October 21

Hugh Hefner & Playboy are pretty tame by today's sex tape society, but he will always have a place in the history of the world as a pioneer & visionary -

The quote below that states this little opus is as "distasteful as one might have expected" clearly reviewed it in 1973 when it was released, raise a glass here's some ass!

"A brilliant, thoroughly good humoured and subtle dissection of an extraordinary man
by a master film maker." - The Times
This 1973 documentary by the award-winning director Tony Palmer shone a light on the multi-millionaire Hugh Hefner and his Playboy empire. It gave Hefner the opportunity to tell his story and, of course, it offended the usual suspects - Mary Whitehouse, the Daily Express and many more. The film charts Hefner's rise from a small-time publisher to Playboy becoming one of the world's best known brands.

As Hefner says: "We had no money at all, and I mean literally no money. I doubt that any major magazine in our time has ever been started with as little initial investment. My own investment in Playboy was $600, all of it borrowed. The entire enterprise is now valued, in 1973, at something around $200 million."

He continues: "The real essence of Playboy was trying to put not just sex, but the whole notion of play and pleasure, back into the American concept of living. And that proved to be a little more revolutionary than I realized when I started."

The 53-minute film will be available on DVD on October 21st via MVD Entertainment Group.

"As distasteful as one might have expected."
The Daily Express

"It blatantly flouted TV's legal obligation not to offend against good taste and decency"
Mary Whitehouse
