Icons

Iconic
Sylvester Stallone & Lynda Carter

What does one do when they have a photo opp with Sylvester Stallone and Lynda Carter? Well you photo shop their iconic chracters into the mix with them, naturally.

"Yes" someone got the clever idea of photo shopping Rocky Balboa and Wonder Woman into the image of these two icons, taken where, I don't know. But when I saw this on the WWW I loved it!

I'm 99.9% sure I will see nothing cooler than this for the rest of the week, maybe month.

Why don't we call today Super Saturday to honor them, yeah, I like that.

Be the Rocky or the Wonder Woman today, the choice is yours...

Just Because, Lady Gaga & Elton John

Ladies Who Lunch
Lady Gaga & Elton John
Today is one of those nebulous Post Holiday/Pre-Holiday days. Yes kids it's the first Tuesday after Christmas and the Tuesday that falls before New Year's Eve aka 2017.

So I thought I would run this image of Lady Gaga & Elton John out and about in Aspen, CO.

Why? Just because the two of them together represent so much talent and creativity it would make a pig in lipstick jealous, and look, it's two icons who are still alive, together!

Hey, it's great to be here!

Have a TT! Terrific Tuesday, in case you didn't get the gist.

Dolly Parton Is Your Guide To Tennessee

My Name Is Dolly, I'll Be Your...Guide To Tennessee!

International Entertainment Icon Dolly Parton Graces Cover of
2016 Official Tennessee Vacation Guide

OMG! The Liquid Crack distillery as my friend Karen Castricher-Stegall and I call it aka Jack Daniels is turning 150! Thanks Dolly Parton without you I would have never known!

FREE Guide Available Online and at Tennessee Tourism Welcome Centers

The Tennessee Department of Tourist Development released today its highly-anticipated 2016 Official Tennessee Vacation Guide featuring international entertainment icon and native Tennessean Dolly Parton. More than 550,000 guides are available to inspire potential guests to book a trip filled with authentic experiences that are part of “The Soundtrack of America - Made in Tennessee.”

Parton, a legend known around the globe, graces the Soundtrack of America-themed cover and is described in the guide as “the living, breathing, stiletto-wearing, songwriting, sweet-singing, play-writing, movie-starring, philanthropizing, bookscribing, arts-championing embodiment of the spirit and creativity of the Volunteer State.”

“Dolly Parton is a Grammy Award winner (10 and counting), a Kennedy Center Honoree, a Country Music Hall of Famer, and currently experiencing tremendous attention with the tremendous success of her TV movie, Coat of Many Colors,” states Commissioner Kevin Triplett, Tennessee Department of Tourist Development. “But she is first and foremost a Tennessean and provides unparalleled support of her home state. She welcomes guests to her new resort, is expanding Dollywood and other attractions and is making new music. We are fortunate to work with Dolly in marketing Tennessee and honored to have her grace the cover of the 2016 Official Tennessee Vacation Guide.”

Additional highlights featured on the guide’s cover include the 150thanniversary of Jack Daniel Distillery, The Guest House at Graceland coming to Memphis, Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Lightning Rod Coaster, 75 years of the Chattanooga Choo Choo song, the Battle at Bristol, Nashville – Music City, and Knoxville’s Urban Wilderness.

Commissioner Triplett continues, “We have five pillars that we focus on in sharing with the world what our great state has to offer to its guests: scenic beauty, history, family, outdoors, and of course, music. Every city, every county, every destination in Tennessee falls under one or all of these pillars. As one of our top marketing tools, the 2016 Official Tennessee Vacation Guide celebrates each of these.”

The 228-page guide is a compilation of stories, photographs, annual events, regional overviews, maps, and listings showcasing the state’s incomparable scenic beauty, outdoor recreation, history, family fun, the arts and spectacular culinary scene with accompanying handcrafted spirits.

And let’s not forget about a vibrant music scene that simply cannot be matched.

From legends like Elvis Presley, B.B. King, Tina Turner and Johnny Cash to current hit-makers such as Kings of Leon, The Black Keys, and Usher to up-and-coming artists like Judah and the Lion and Delta Saints, readers will find countless Tennessee music icons throughout the guide.

                                                                     Travelin' Thru

And the soundtrack doesn’t stop there, the guide also highlights “Music Venues that Just Might Change Your Life” along with festivals and events to be added to every Tennessee traveler’s bucket list. Just to name a few, featured experiences include Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, Beale Street Music Festival, the CMA Music Festival, the Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion and the Rhythm N’ Blooms Fest, the Americana Music Triangle and numerous music-themed driving trails as part of the diverse network of Discover Tennessee Trails & Byways. The publication sends a powerful message that the “Soundtrack of America” is Made in Tennessee and is amplified from Memphis to Mountain City.

An initial printing of 550,000 guides will be distributed free at the state’s 14 Welcome Centers and to guests requesting the publication via tnvacation.com and 1.800.GO2.TENN. It is also available as an e-guide at tnvacation.com/guide. As in previous years, an iPad app of the guide will be available soon in iTunes offering additional rich media and interactive content, as well as links to all advertisers.

Romy & Michele - It's Time For Another Reunion

Give Us A Sequel, Or We Kidnap The Mouse

It's been 17 years since Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, That's correct, 17 whole long years since Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow cracked our collective asses up!

Wow time flies, but if memory serves me, High School Reunions happen every 10 years, so these two are overdue for another kick ass time at the place of their awkward years.

Sorvino says that she and Kudrow as well as the movie's creator and writer, Robin Schiff, want to do a sequel to the 1997 cult favorite, but Disney doesn't seem to agree.
"Disney, if you're listening—everybody wants it!" states Sorvino, "Me and Lisa and Robin would love to do a sequel. We have asked Disney before. It's Disney that has to decide to say yes."
Mira further extrapolates  "I don't think they realize what a cult phenomenon it has become. I mean, people dress up as us for Halloween!"

That's right Haus of Mouse, we want to know what happened to these two icons post their ten year reunion, Mickey can you hear us?!

Were here were Romy & Michele fans, deal with it!

I for one would love to see this happen, oh and a note to the Haus of Mouse, if you have not had green cheese before (although I am 100% sure you have)  there will be plenty if you grant fans of this awesome movie their wish.

When you wish upon a star...

Demand this sequel!
