Michael's Musings

Distant Memories...
Michael Shinafelt
Tis the season to be looting, Fa la la la la - OK being me I had the obligatory insert levity here. While I have certain in depth opinions about who the looters are and why they are doing it (hint it's not the actual individuals angry over the senseless murder of a Black Man) I'm not going there.

How about I go other places, capisce

"Come on and Zoom, come on and Zoom, come on and Zoom, come on and Zoom" - The Theme Song of 2020

I've heard for years Glee's Lea Michele was unpleasant to work with, never did it sink in it would be the nightmare that it actually was

"Not Here To Play" Ada Vox

Vox, Vox, Vox...!!!

"I'm not here to play with anybody. I'm here to chase my dreams and make them come true."

Ada Vox isn’t messing around. She put judge Katy Perry, and America, on notice: she is in this life to win it!

A San Antonio based drag queen who sang her heart out on ABC's "American Idol," Ada became a Semi-finalist, something that would have been unheard of several years ago. Her appearance marks a first for the show, and people still talk about her performance of The Animals “House of the Rising Sun” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofdSsBKW6NU as one of the stand-out auditions of the season.  Ada has released her first single, “Because of You” via Cleopatra Records.  The song was written by Janice Robinson (Kristine W., Deborah Cox) and produced by Bimbo Jones (Rihanna, Kylie Minogue, Lady Gaga).  Click here to listen to the track:https://open.spotify.com/artist/47AqqDOAI8wPNY752aY5Hj?si=gBckf3n1SHigtgPTBTyEcA.

Ada’s excited to share it with all the people (#Voxies) who embraced her on this go-round of American Idol and to brand new audiences as she continues to tour the globe. “Because of You” is available through all digital retailers:

Rewind five years to 2013 when Ada Vox auditioned for Fox’s American Idol back  when she was known as Adam Sanders.  In one of his Season 12 performances, he got a standing ovation from three of the four judges with his performance of Etta James's “I'd Rather Go Blind.” Despite this, he not only got eliminated after Hollywood week, but had to endure taunts, teasing and threats from people on social media. Ada revealed on this year's show that “People attacked my weight, my sexuality, telling me that I was horrible, that I sucked, that I don't deserve to be here, that I shouldn't be who I am. And I let it get to me in a wrong way. It killed me inside...I was contemplating lots of things that I shouldn't have.”

Ada did not let that deter her from her dream and when she heard the show was coming back to ABC, she decided to audition again as Ada Vox, a person with a lot more confidence and an innate belief in herself. “I was an OK singer as Adam. But I'm a hundred times better now than I ever was then. I'm vocally better, I'm a better performer, I'm a better entertainer, I'm more prepared as an adult to take on the challenges that come with a competition like this.”

The 24-year-old University of Texas graduate was born in San Antonio, TX, and had worked at a restaurant by day and been a drag queen by night.  Ada lists her influences as Lady Gaga, BeyoncĂ©, Aretha Franklin, Patti Labelle (with whom she got to perform with on Idol - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UQHF9My1NQ) and other strong women who project an inner self-confidence with their stage personas.  In fact, her performance of Jennifer Hudson’s “I am Telling You I am not Going”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3r_puQXbJA as a Top 10 finalist brought the house down.

Even though Ada didn’t make it to the top, she made history as the first-ever Drag Queen to make it as an American Idol Top 8 finalist. Upon her departure, none other than superstar judge Lionel Richie said, “Listen, I want to say – you have to know how special this is to have you on this show. You are a movement unto yourself. I am telling you, I’m so proud of you, keep it up my dear, it’s fantastic.

What’s next for Ada? The sky seems to be the limit.

I'm not waking up tomorrow morning/And finding that there's nobody there/Darling, there's no way.”

If Your Happy & U Know It...

Clapping On, Clap Off
Laverne Cox & Lea Michele
That's correct peeps it's time to clap your hands! Let's call today the Sunday Clap

Look it's Laverne Cox & Lea Michele flapping their respective fins like barking seals at the GLAAD Media Awards in New York City.

What's that??? "No" I have nothing against either of them. It was simply the alternative fact image that came to my mind when I spied this pic on the WWW. So don't get your undies in a bind.

For those of you out there scratching your heads thinking WTF is GLAAD? Well here is the definition - Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. Those of you needing anything further explanation click on the link provided below.

Michael has left the building.

The Little Mermaid

Splash!
Lea Michele
If only the world was made up of unicorns, fairies & mermaids, but alas it's not. Well let's settle for a close facsimile shall we?

I present to you a whimsical image of one Lea Michele donning a mermaid tail in a swimming pool. Why she is pretending to be half woman, half fish I do not know, but it's fun and provides levity to the world so I am putting it out there for your enjoyment.

Loosen up and free your imagination and have a blast making up all sorts of scenarios and tranquil fantasies while gazing upon the Little Mermaid.

Mine is that I am a Merman and we are combing the ocean depths together in search of the ruins of Atlantis. Bet you thought I wasn't going to share mine, right???

Have a magical Hump Day

Heartthrob John Stamos

Tell It To My Heart
John Stamos
Proving he is still a heartthrob at 53, John Stamos plays a hot doc in season two of Scream Queens, which in case you haven't guessed is set in a, duh, hospital.

Question? Would you let this guy steal your heart? You answered too late, as you can see he already has!

Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele and the rest of Chanels return along with new comer Taylor Lautner.

Season One of the show started out promising then became a flat out disappointment overall. That being stated being a horror fan of course I will be tuning in to season two, here's hoping they right the previous seasons wrongs.

Can't wait for the premiere? Don't have a heart attack, Scream Queens season two shrieks it's way onto your TV Tuesday September 20th on Fox.

Sunday Schwing! Jonathan Groff

Wait For It, I'm Naked!
Jonathan Groff
It's Sunday morning and I am at my computer having my morning smoothie before I am off to Gold's Gym Hollywood for spin class. For some reason I woke - up thinking about Looking star and sexy piece of guy Jonathan Groff. Remembering back to when Andy Cohen asked him what his turn on's and turn off's were on Watch What Happens Live and realizing I stood a chance. Here are Groff's answers:

Very hairy: "Turn on"
Sex on the first date: "Absolutely"
Someone who is only a power bottom: "No, you've got to be versatile."
Someone who dislikes his bestie Lea Michele: "Definitely a turn off."
A Broadway queen: "Borderline"
Someone who's in the closet: "Turn off."
Balding: "Turn on"
Gym rat: "Turn off"
Not interested in marriage: "Turn off"
Mama's boy: "Turn off"

Order for him at a restaurant: "Turn on"

I then ventured over to one of my go to sites Favorite Hunks & Other Things knowing if images of Jonathan naked were to be found I could search and and find them there and "yes" I did find what I was seeking...Groff in all his glory from an indie film called: Twelve Thirty.

Check them out at the link below and bend it like there's no tomorrow.

Happy Schwing Time!

G.B.F.F. (Gay Best Friend Friday)

G.B.F.F!
Jonathan Groff & Lea Michele
The rumors are true most grown ass women have a gay male best friend. In honor of this I am posting an adorable photo of Glee and Scream Queens star Lea Michele and her GBF Jonathan Groff, who also appeared on Glee as Jesse St. James snuggling in bed together.

Michele posted the photo on Instagram with the caption: "And suddenly all is right"

Can I get an Awwwwwwwwwww???

Jonathan wrote this about he and Lea's deep bond in Teen Vogue:

"Lea Michele and I have shared some pretty unique experiences since we met. We've simulated sex more than 1,000 times onstage in Spring Awakening. We've performed everything from show tunes to 'Like a Virgin' on Glee. I've watched her sing for the President and accept Billboard's first-ever Triple Threat Award, and I've seen her laugh so hard that she peed her pants,"

Nothing says GBF like having simulated sex I always say. On that note T.G.I.F and have a terrific weekend!
