Saturday Sinema: 12 Monkeys

Terry Gilliam is a director with vision. I remember seeing "12 Monkeys" upon it's release...amazing!

Hitting shelves on October 30th! Following the commercial and critical success of The Fisher King, Terry Gilliam next feature would turn to science fiction and a screenplay by Janet and David Peoples (Blade Runner, Unforgiven) inspired by Chris Marker's classic short film La Jetée. In 1996, a deadly virus is unleashed by a group calling themselves the Army of the Twelve Monkeys, destroying much of the world's population and forcing survivors underground. In 2035, prisoner James Cole (Bruce Willis, Die Hard) is chosen to go back in time and help scientists in their search for a cure. Featuring an Oscar-nominated turn by Brad Pitt (Fight Club) as mental patient Jeffrey Goines, Twelve Monkeys would become Gilliam's most successful film and is now widely regarded as a sci-fi classic. Arrow Films are proud to present the film in a stunning new restoration.

Roger Ebert calling it a "celebration of madness and doom."

"Revenge" Series Finale May 10th

I'll Get You My Pretty: Emily VanCamp & Madeline Stowe
What can I saw about Revenge? OK, let me start with this, season one was a quite addicting guilty pleasure. Season two lost it's marbles. Season three was hit and miss and season four was really lame until toward the middle and then went limp again toward the end.

Yet, I continued to watch. I guess it like the old saying about not being able to take your eyes off of a train wreck. Seriously last weeks episode leading up to this Sunday's series finale reminded me of a cartoon quite frankly. Hey I gave it name.

Of course I will be watching this Sunday none-the-less. The thing that kept me watching? I found the characters interesting enough to put up with the over the top cartoon storylines.

It will be interesting to see how the saga ends and who will live or die. Honestly I thought the end of season three would have been the perfect end to the series when Amanda Clarke (Emily VanCamp) successfully had her nemeses Victoria Grayson (Madeline Stowe) committed to a sanitarium.

So Revenge fans it's time for the last hurrah Sunday at 10 pm on ABC.

Kim Richards "Revenge" This Sunday

Watch Your Back Hamptons, It's Kim Richards!
Revenge is one of the most uneven, frustrating shows I have ever followed. Every season contains good episodes and bad ones, the week to week quality of the show is like a game of darts sometimes it hits sometimes, OK most of the time, it misses.

The last two weeks episodes have left me underwhelmed. Yet I continue to watch and there is added incentive this Sunday as one of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kim Richards guest stars.

Richards is what drew me to watch RHOBH in the first place as she was a child star when I was growing up. She starred in one of my fave Disney films ever Escape to Witch Mountain. So there!

Obviously Revenge felt the need to call in a drama pro for some extra trouble and Kim is a perfect choice to do just that!

Richards will be playing Stephanie, a society lady and friend of Victoria's (Madeleine Stowe), who is a member of Nolan's (Gabriel Mann) Southampton Beach Club.

Will Stephanie will be carrying some secrets in her purse? Do you really need to ask? She and her friend Heather each have a secret or three and they're willing to pay good money to keep them on the down low.

So Revenge you have managed to rope me in for one more Sunday by choosing a cleverly well cast guest star. Guess who will be back for more? Yep, me, it's a no brainer.

TV Watch: "Revenge" & "American Horror Story"

Two of my most favorite shows ever debuted last year..."Revenge" & "American Horror Story" and while I know I am a little slow on the draw with writing about the latest casting news, well whatever, I was busy writing about other things, so there and bite me!

So now I write as a fan of both shows who is over the moon or licking an udder about two of the most juicy pieces of casting evuh!

You got it, this is a fan gush, get over it. First off how brilliant was it of for the peeps behind "Revenge" to cast one of my favorite actresses, Jennifer Jason Leigh as Amanda's Mom?! She will more than go toe to toe with Madeline Stowe, she will obliterate that beotch, "Single White Female" anyone? JJL glad to have you back in a major role in a high profile project, the last time I saw you was at a Harmony Gold screening of your directorial debut with Alan Cumming - "The Anniversary Party" - "Yes" I know it's not the last time you worked, but it's the last time I saw you...go grrrrrrrrrrl, you are fierce!

Oh, and lest we forget one of the hottest men and stars on the planet, Adam Rivai Levine is on the second cycle of "American Horror Story".

Wonder if he will show butt like Dylan McDermott, odds on bet? "Yes" - hey he is sexy as heck and no proper hottie remains clothed in a horror opus.

Yep, I can't wait for the debut of these two shows, until then...I guess there is always "The People's Court".

Until they premiere tune into:

TV Watch: "Revenge" Is Sweeeeet!

After what will forever be known as “The Hour Of My Life I Want Back” also known as the new “Charlie’s Angels” which I merely stated I wanted to see in the last edition of TV Watch (keep in mind I hadn’t seen it at that point).

Well I am pleased to announce that I have found my official replacement for my “True Blood” addiction - a nasty little show called: “Revenge”

Emily Thorne wants it, and grrrrrrrrrrrrrrl is going to get her some, revenge that is!

Really I can not give too many of the twist and turns of the plot away, because it would take a thesis paper to cover them all - but suffice it to say, this show fills my void and will keep me going until my beloved “True Blood” is back next summer.

Emily Van Camp (from “Brothers & Sisters“), plays, well, Emily Thorne and is perfectly cast, she has the kind of poker face and look that does not betray what lies beneath.

Madeline Stowe as her nemesis, Victoria Grayson, plays herself quite well and is one scary beotch!

However my hat goes off to Gabriel Mann as Nolan Ross, no one says smarmy sleaze bag more when the camera hits them than the Mann, Gabriel.

Quite entertaining and well thought out, if you want “Revenge” this one will give you a vicarious thrill until you can get your act together and do it yourself!
