Palm Springs

Palm Springs like any other town is creepy this time of year and the DTPS famous retro vibe restaurant Lulu is no exception.

I went there like a virgin for the very first time the other day and had pretty standard fare a cheeseburger with fries. I also had a not so standard fare adult beverage a Blood Orange Margarita (blood is the talk of the season) which was delicious!

Of course they had their Halloween finest out. I opted to take the photo op of the entrance to the establishment.

Give a shake rattle and roll for Mr. Skull and his not so Eensy Weensy hairy spider buddy and only 10 more days until Halloween Minions!!!

Just Because...Booty Call

Getting Cheeky With It!
John Barrowman

Just Because...fun is a good thing, Just Because...you know you like to watch & Just Because...It's cheeky, quite literally and figuratively, here's John Barrowman flashing his booty in Palm Springs.

Mr. Barrowman is known for his, shall we say, candid Instagram postings. Going commando in Washington, DC anyone? Well he decided to shoot some video footage of himself roller skating captioning it: "The view behind me...roller skating in Palm Springs. Can you see the moon?"

If you know how this guy rolls, no one should have been surprised to get a peek at his supple bottom. "Yes" he laughs at his own naughty boy ways, hey he's having fun and wants you to as well.

What's that you say? You wanna see it? Well fear not and click on the link below Just Because...!!!

Hump Day & Chill: Ariel Beesley

Ariel Beesley

"Here it is !! The “Palm Springs” music video. I wanted to do something different with this video, to show people a little window into the things I care about outside of the music. On a personal level this video stands for what I can accomplish when I take myself out of toxicity and love myself instead. I hope you love it" - Ariel Beesley

Let your inner activist Hump Day & Chill today in one of the best ways I can imagine, with Ariel Beesley. This young woman who I have know since she was, oh never mind, no need to go there. But she is a complete source of inspiration to me in everything she does. Trust me, it takes some kind of special to inspire me.

The video for her latest single "Palm Springs" has dropped and I LOVE what she co-directed along with Lili Peper. It documents Ariel putting together a benefit for the ACLU called "Front Line Girls" (which I attended) and I couldn't be more blown away by this young woman's passion. She puts her money where her vocal chords are.

Thus, I'm going to leave you with the video and a way to find Ms. Beesley on Instagram, as well as a link to donate to the ACLU to honor the artist and humanity.

A Quickie With Ted Casablanca

It's My Gallery & I'll Do What I Want To
Ted Casablanca
Once upon a time there was a gossip named Ted Casablanca real name, Bruce Bibby. He worked at E! as a correspondent and online columnist. Well Teddy moved on from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood to Hollywood lite in Palm Springs, CA - where he opened an art gallery called the Ted Casablanca Gallery, naturally. From gossip to art, how does that shift happen?

Here to answer that in a quickie 10 is Mr. Casablanca, Bibby, Casablanca - my sister, my daughter, oh fuck it! Here is Ted Casablanca

MS: Ted Casablanca

TC Yep, he's a fag. A big one.

MS: Bruce Bibby

TC: He's a fag, too, just not as averse to vaginal exploration as Ted is.

MS: Art

TC: My first love and talent, before film and writing.

MS: Valley of the Dolls

TC: Trashy but truthful.

MS: Gossip
TC: Truthful but trashy.

MS: Have you ever danced with the Devil in the pale moonlight?

TC: Yes. But luckily I don't see Kris Jenner much anymore.

Party Like A Lesbian With Lady Gaga

The Ladies Who Party
Lady Gaga & Friends
Lady Gaga took some time off from Taylor Kinney to indulge her sapphic side. She is an admitted bi-sexual after all and headed West to Palm Springs, CA for the Club Skirts pool party during Dinah Shore Weekend. I am sure about half of the women attending do not even know who Dinah Shore was at this point and juncture, but hey, any excuse to party, riiiiiiiiiight?!

Gaga hung out and mingled where the girls are and paid a visit to Lindsay Lohan's ex Samantha Ronson who was the pool party DJ. From the photo above it's looks like a good time! I'm thinking I should attend next year...oh right no men allowed. Does this mean you have to check any strap-on's at the door too?

Happy Monday and have a terrific week!

PS Why the Fuck was sapphic spell checked and there was no word suggestions to replace it, that were remotely like it? Fuck never gets flagged as misspelled anymore and sapphic does? Just sayin'...

Hitch A Ride With Marilyn Monroe

The Traveling Marilyn Monroe Statue
Photo: Michael Shinafelt
As anyone who knows me knows, I am a big Marilyn Monroe fan, which should come as no major surprise to those of you who may have just found out this information.

Here is a piece I did on this blog when My Week With Marilyn came out:

http://mshinafelt.blogspot.com/2012/01/reel-life-my-week-with-marilyn.html

So in honor of that I am posting some rare photos of one of my favorite actresses that are part of a traveling pop up exhibit. Also included at the top of this article is the photo I took of the traveling MM statue in Palm Springs, CA when I was there this past February, hey I may not have gotten to shoot the real thing but it was good enough for this fan.

Marilyn frequently let crew members  photograph her on set when the cameras weren't rolling, to calm her nerves.
Here, is a sneak peek at the lost photos of Marilyn Monroe, being showcased this month in a traveling exhibition curated by Pierre Vudrag.

Happy 2013....!

Me & Pamela Sue Martin
OK I may be a tad late wishing everyone a Happy 2013 - but the Holiday Season was extremely busy for me not to mention I was without a computer for an entire week which is pretty much a major deal for those of us who write.

So here I am communicating on my new lap top and finally catching up on work, that's right for some reason and I never do this, I actually enjoyed the Holiday Season instead of stressing about things like I do with precision every year they roll around.

I spent the weekend in Palm Springs with friends at their house I had four separate Birthday celebrations with various friends not to mention the usual life things that one has to take care of. Of note I also attended the 40th anniversary screening of "The Poseidon Adventure" at The Egyptian in Hollywood, CA - the theatre that it actually premiered at some 40 years ago. I got to say "Hello" to past interview subject and Poseidon star, Pamela Sue Martin (pictured with me above).

Keep your eyes peeled she will be an upcoming interview on "Entertain Me" soon.....

Enough of my prattle, time to move onward into 2013, and what better way to kick my first posting of the New Year off than with some Pentatonix and the video for their latest song: "Save The World/Don't You Worry Child".

2013 is underway let's get crackin'!
