Pretty In Pink Plaid

In The Pink
Amanda Seyfried

When what to my wandering eyes did appear, but Amanda Seyfried heading into Good Morning America in NYC in Pink Plaid...

Maybe I need to get out more often but I've never seen a Pink Plaid suit before, let alone seen it on someone who wears it as well as Ms. Seyfried.

What a sight for my tired eyes this Saturday in the ayem. Something to put a little fun in my and your day.

After all don't each and every one of us need some pretty right here, right now?

Monday Motivation

Get The Party Started!
Pink & Daughter Willow

While very few of are able to fly with the greatest of ease from a trapeze or anything like it hanging in mid air. Leave it to Pink, who won the Icon Award at last night's BBMA's to show off her acrobatic skills yet again with daughter Willow along ride.

Thus this is all the Monday Motivation you need to kick your week off. That's correct Minions, it's let loose your inner acrobat and push it, real good!

Everyone has an inner acrobat and something that holds them back from reaching those acrobatic heights. You do realize at this point I am using acrobat as a metaphor I hope. I certainly don't think everyone can do the Mother/Daughter act that Pink and Willow did last night. This being stated there are many extraordinary things that each of us as individuals are capable of and know we can achieve, yet...

You get the picture.

It's a new day, and a new week, Monday Motivation is here and it's going to ride you like the horse you are so just do it!

On Saturday's We Wear Pink...

Getting Into Her Groove
Tiffany Haddish

"Yes" I know in Mean Girls it's Wednesday they wear pink, but today is Saturday. It's today I came across this paparazzi photo of Tiffany Haddish out on the town with pink hair and it is giving me life, so there!

Remember when Tiffany shaved her head bald at the beginning of the Pandemic? Well her hair has obviously grown out and now it is pink.

Gotta say I am loving her latest look, not too many peeps could pull of pink hair and Haddish does it with her usual flair. (hair/flair I made a rhyme, did you catch it Minions?)

Not to mention it, like pretty much everything she does puts a smile on your face. Hey get those good vibes anyway you can...

Freaky Friday

Walk Like A Ballerina
Harry Styles
Look up on the stage: It's a peacock! It's a beach umbrella! No, it's Harry Styles in a pink tutu! Well it's Harry Styles in a pink tutu hosting Saturday Night Live to be exact. Thus bringing you the Freaky Friday moment you never know you needed, but did.

Now when someone says you have "Nice long legs" you can produce this photo and confidently state "Well it's not Harry Styles in a pink tutu bending and pointing his toes nice long legs, but I'll take it!"

That's the beauty of things like this, you can assign any narrative you choose to them 😉

For the record Styles does have nice long gams. Being built stocky I will never know the joy of having my legs being complimented as nice and long. They do get compliments though, for being nice or hot, depending on who is giving the adulation and why (if you get my drift, and I think you do.)

So get Freaky with Harry this Friday, you know you want to, I know I do!

Happy Pride!

Proud
Jonathan Bennett
For those of you living over the rainbow, instead of under it, the month of June is official Pride Month. Today is the Los Angeles Pride Parade held in the city of West Hollywood. Thus I thought I would take today and do a special Pride shout out. Oh, and I will be attending the parade as well, because I love a parade...! 😄

So here is a Proud image that caught my attention in a fun way. Well I am sure most of you have seen the movie Mean Girls. They wore pink on Wednesdays for those of you out of the loop. Here we have out Mean Girls star Jonathan Bennett wearing a T-Shirt with a Pride take on the wearing pink thing.

"Yes" Wednesdays are now for wearing rainbows, you know how that connection goes.

Anyway, Happy Pride minions, keep on keeping!

Freaky Friday

I'd Like To Be You For A Day...
Sarah Jessica Parker

T.G.I.F! Friday is here and it's time for a a dose of Sex and the City realness, or maybe it's simply something out of the ordinary, ya know...freaky!

Honestly I don't know how she pulled this mismatch outfit off, butt it werks. Behold Sarah Jessica Parker in an ensemble that really has no right to even look good on the most fashion challenged person and yet, it really does.

Stripes, floral, yellow & pink - Oh my! On the streets of NYC no less, or more, or less. Whatever. Sex and the City indeed!!!

SJP has always been a fashion forward sort of lass, and she has always done it with class, without a big _____ fill in your blank people, I bequeath it to you.

Thus we head into the weekend with a dose of sex, the city and SJP Freaky Friday fashion (say that three times fast) Life is De Groovy!

Dreams Do Come True!

When Willow Met Rihanna
After a very underwhelming Grammy telecast last night (yes there were a few great moments, but...) comes my favorite part of any award show. "Yes" this is where I honor my favorite Instagram or Twitter moment from last night's festivities.

This year the honor goes to Pink for posting a photo of her daughter Willow with Rihanna on her Instagram captioning it: "Dreams come true. My daughter lives for this woman. So do I"

Awwwwwwww...there really is something charming about kids getting to meet their idols, no?

This pic is too precious for words. Thus I will halt the use of any more adjectives to describe it right here right now.

Now tell me again why you don't like Mondays???

On Wednesdays We Wear Pink

Colorful, As Always
Pink
Hey all you "Mean Girls" out there it's Wednesday, hope you have your pink on, while I am not wearing pink, I am bringing the pink as in Pink the singing superstar!

She was caught looking just as colorful as her namesake in New York City recently. Pink has been keeping a pretty low profile, but has been seen out and about and been performing more recently.

Cheers that she is planning something big and the world will become Pink and we just live in it.

We could all use some of her dynamic singing and performing again in these obtuse times.

It's Wednesday and I am definitely bringing my Pink game to the table.

Ciao!

Let Them Eat Cake!

Surrender The Pink
Lisa Vanderpump
"The crown is heavy, darlings, so just leave it where it belongs" - Lisa Vanderpump

As we all know celebrities do everything bigger than us mere mortals. Lisa Vanderpump is no exception. Check out her decadent Birthday cake, fit, well, for a  Queen. Lisa wears her crown well,

Frosted to the max in her favorite color, pink, duh. Adorned by two giant and I might add, ahem, quite thick sparklers...(wink, nudge) Lisa must be feeling her inner Marie Antoinette at her 56th celebration of her date of birth.

As an added bonus the staff and people dining at Pump where the Queen was presented her cake all sang HBD to her.

Yep, leave the crown where it is people, because nobody wears it better.

Pretty In Pink???

Love It or Leave It?
Ashley Benson
Alright all you Pretty Little Liars fans, of which I am one. Ashley Benson aka Hanna Marin sported pink hair in a photo taken on her vacation to Puerto Rico.

What do you think of the new look? Love It or Leave It?

I say Love It for as long as her heart desires. Even if I personally thought it looked bad, which I don't, I support an individuals right to express themselves however they choose.

Can't wait until April 18th when the final ten episodes of Pretty Little Liars air, it's going to be one doozy of an end to a great show!

PS Next time Ashley I would love to see you with blue hair!

Hump Day: Pink Touches Herself

On Wednesdays We Surrender The
Pink!
OK, I am sure that is news to anyone that Pink touches herself. Masturbation, it's a thing. But I stumbled across this really sensual and quite arousing cover of the song "I Touch Myself" by Pink last night on YouTube. Don't ask me how I found it, and I won't tell.

All I know is that is it a really awesome take on an already amazing song by the late great Chrissy Amphlett of the Divinyls.

So, we made it to the middle of the week affectionately known as hump day. You know what that means?

Let's get to it, check out the video below there's nothing to it. After all everyone is doing it, all the popular people are... .

"So Fetch" Lindsay Lohan & Jonathan Bennett

Discussing Math Equations?
Lindsay Lohan & Jonathan Bennett
Everyone loves the movie Mean Girls, right? I know I personally do. Well yesterday this happened Lindsay Lohan hooked-up with her co-star from it Jonathan Bennett, via a FaceTime conversation, Regina George must be so jealous that she went out and boinked Shane Owen in the projection booth upon hearing the news.

"Yes" Aaron Samuels and Cady Heron are reunited and it feels so grool!

The screen shot is courtesy of Lindsay and her Instagram page. Wonder what these two were talking about? It couldn't have anything to do with October 3rd, because the exchange took place on October the 6th. Seriously you two get it together!

Whatever they spoke about it's nice to know the two co-stars still keep in touch. It gives us a nice warm fuzzy feeling like the color pink on Wednesdays.

As Gretchen Wieners would say "T.G.I.F! hope your weekend is so fetch!"

Janis Joplin Rules!

"FIERCELY BRILLIANT!"
-Guy Lodge, Variety

"ENTHRALLING!"
-Stephen Holden, New York Times (Critics' Pick)

This is going to date me...one of my first cassette tapes was Janis Joplin's Greatest Hits. Which of course lead to Pearl and others. They don't make em' like they used to. I mean the rock stars, not the cassette tapes.

The critically acclaimed, box office smash Janis: Little Girl Blue is coming to DVD on May 6th viaBrooklyn-based film and TV distributor FilmRise. MVD Entertainment Group will distribute the film with exclusive, never-before-seen bonus features.

Directed and written by Academy Award®-nominated documentarian Amy Berg ("Deliver Us From Evil," "West of Memphis") and produced by Academy Award®-winner Alex Gibney ("Taxi to the Dark Side," "Going Clear"), Janis: Little Girl Blue is an intimate portrait of the iconic but troubled rock 'n' roll singer Janis Joplin. FilmRise released the film in theaters in Fall 2015 to rave reviews, and it wowed audiences in over 100 cities across the country with electrifying archival footage, exclusive interviews with friends and family, and rare personal letters from the iconic rocker herself. The film features musicians Pink, Kris Kristofferson, Melissa Etheridge, Juliette Lewis, and Bob Weir, TV presenter Dick Cavett, producer Clive Davis, counterculture filmmaker D.A. Pennebaker, and more.

The DVD will include bonus features such as an a capella performance from Janis's first band, Big Brother and the Holding Company; footage from Janis's posthumous Walk of Fame ceremony; a fascinating look at Janis's early venues, The Avalon and the Fillmore; and a rare interview with Chan Marshall aka Cat Power, who narrates Janis's letters in the film.

Janis Joplin is one of the most revered singers of all time, a tragic and misunderstood figure who thrilled millions of listeners and blazed new creative trails before her untimely death in 1970 at age 27. Janis: Little Girl Blue examines her story in-depth for the first time on film, presenting an insightful look at this complicated, driven, often beleaguered artist with rare personal and performance footage and interviews with friends and family. The Joplin family provided unfettered access to their vaults for the first time, through which Berg unearthed previously unreleased letters, photos, audio and footage of Joplin. The singer's own words tell much of her story through a series of letters she wrote to her parents over the years, never before seen by the public (read by Cat Power). Joplin was a powerhouse when she sang, and her surprising rise and sudden demise changed music forever.

Janis: Little Girl Blue premiered at the 2015 Venice Film Festival, and screened at the Toronto and London Film Festivals, as well as the prestigious DOC NYC. The film opened in theaters in November 2015.

Pre-order now at the MVD SHOP or on Amazon.

Pretty In Pink - Jared Leto

Jared Leto
One Night In Paris
You know I really don't give a rip roaring Fuck what Jared Leto does no matter what he does he is always one of the hottest thing on three legs. I love that he expresses himself in a pure and creative way, now that's hot!

Of course it doesn't hurt that he is extremely sexy and good looking to begin with, so him being eccentric is the icing on the cake.

Leto took to the streets of Paris with cotton candy colored hair and a technicolor dream coat that would make Joseph green, purple and blue with envy. Hey, he was there for what else? Paris Fashion Week.

Taking to his Instagram with images of his surrender the pink style he stated: "Le Pink and Le Pain"...Freak Out!

Perhaps he was trying to shake the disease of his role as The Joker in Suicide Squad, because green hair is like decaying mold.

Whatever the case Jared, keep doing you!

Go Pink Flamingo With Shay Mitchell!

Shay Mitchell Sunning Pink Flamingo Style
What would we do without Instagram? We would never find photos of celebrities enjoying summertime, naturally.

So here I am checking out pages and what to my computer strained eyes did appear? Why Pretty Little Liars Shay Mitchell and one inflatable Pink Flamingo hanging in the sun!

What?! Why do I follow Shay on the internet? Because those who know me know what a huge Pretty Little Liars fan I am - and Shay is terrific as Emily Fields on the show!

Not to mention she looks amazing in this shot, but that goes without saying, I mean seriously the word "Pretty" in the title of the show says it all.

The mind does wonder what draws Shay to flamingos, is she a John Waters fan perhaps?

Hmmmmmmmmm....

Follow Shay on Instagram, because I said so at:

Michael Shinafelt: U + UR Hand

Everyone Needs A Hand Sometimes
"Keep your drink just give me the money
It's just u + ur hand tonight" - Pink

OK people it's time to keep it real, honest & raw with yours truly. Friend and fellow horror fan M.E. Franco, author of the popular supernatural thriller Dion series of books: Where Will You Run? Where Will You Hide? & Where Will You Turn? Was curious about me and my Entertainment Journalism career.

Prepare yourself, I am direct and do not hold back, I talk candidly about my most surprising subject and tell you who the biggest Jackhole was I have ever dealt with.

That's right, it's just you, me and our hands, right here, right now!

ME: Some personal things that I always like about your blog, but may not have said, is that I love the way you are supportive and respectful of people. Even when you make fun of stuff, or look at things critically, you are usually positive, and I love that about your writing
Hey M.E. Glad UR Entertained

MS: I am flattered and happy you noticed. There is too much negativity in the world and I want to Entertain as well as be truthful without being snarky or a jerk.

ME: What got you interested in the entertainment industry?

MS: Growing up I loved movies, I used to watch them, go to them and breath them day and night. I also loved TV shows as well. One of my favorite things was to watch horror movies on TV on the weekend with my Dad. I came to Los Angeles to act and ended up writing and have now gotten back into acting again as well.

ME:. Who was the first person you interviewed?

MS: Singer Erin Hamilton, who happens to be Carol Burnett's daughter. She was sweet enough to be my first interview, we met for coffee and it was a fun time!

ME:. What have you learned about interviewing since then?

MS: To prepare less and not write down any questions. All I ever write down are a few notes about names of things the subject is doing or has upcoming. My experience has taught me to simply have a conversation as the person you are interviewing will tell you everything you need to know.

ME: Whose interview surprised you most?

MS: Margaret Cho. My first interview with her was sitting across from her on a couch after a photo shoot that she had done for it. Our chat was the cover story for Frontiers magazine. She was really low key and quite demure, I thought because of the lack of energy the interview was going to suck, it didn't. She gave great answers...while I did not expect her to be like her stage personae, I also did not expect how shy she actually was. Since then I have interviewed her several times and she now knows me, we basically have conversations and she is a lot more relaxed.
Me & Margaret Cho
ME:. Who would be your dream interview, and what one question are you dying to ask?

MS: I would have liked to have interviewed Elizabeth Taylor. What would I ask? What wouldn't you ask her?! She really lived! I would also like to have chatted up Joan Rivers, another woman with an incredible life who you could ask everything.

ME: You're a big fan of horror movies and have been in a few yourself. What do you find so appealing about horror movies?

MS: There is a catharsis with them, a visceral thing. Not to mention they are just plain fun and entertaining! Who doesn't like a good scare?

ME: What was your most spectacular death scene?

MS: My death scene in The Summer Of Massacre - something that I know you have seen. I loved sitting at the premiere with my then boyfriend and seeing the Boogeyman crush my skull in slowly until it popped like a cherry on a fifty foot screen, it was awesome!
Premiere Time: Myself & "The Boogeyman" Scott Barrows

ME: Is there a famous horror character you'd like to interview? What questions would you ask?

MS: Norman Bates. I would ask him: Does mother really know best?

ME: On your blog, you outspokenly cover what you love, including controversial topics. Is there any topic(s) you avoid?

MS: Politics. I refuse to discuss that, and I can't stand people who do. If you know the answers get in office and go solve the United States many issues, please I would love for them to be resolved. I have my opinions, but mostly, unless I am with really close friends, I keep them to myself.

ME: You often build relationships with the musicians and entertainers you interview, which makes your blog so much more personal and interesting to read. Do you ever get nervous before an interview? If so, what do you do to relax?

MS: Never. Being an actor, and having a certain amount of my own celebrity sort of makes those nerves not exist for me. Especially since a lot of my subjects are friends of mine in real life. People in the music biz especially cotton to me as I have studied piano, guitar and have sang. I can still read sheet music and a keyboard - which I love. Thus I can talk shop with them and know what I am actually saying, same goes for the actors I interview as well. Since I have done, and still do it...

ME: Have you ever had an interview get out hand?

MS: Yes, Marky Ramone, who was not one of The Ramones founding members but was inducted into the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame with them. He bumped our time twice during the day to later than scheduled. The second time the PR guy gave me his direct number and said that Marky told him to have me call him in fifteen minutes. I did and Marky told me he was shopping or some lame thing and to call again in an hour. That was the straw that broke the camels back! I called the PR guy and said that clearly Marky was a complete Jackhole with no intent on giving an interview and no respect for my time and I called the whole thing off.

Grace Valerie Lays It Down! "Not For Love"

I've known the lovely and talented Ms. Grace Valerie since June 2011, when I first interviewed her for Chorus and Verse about her then hot single "When The Lights Go Down." Wow time flies!

Read It Here: http://www.chorusandverse.com/content.php?id=20110607A

She Tweeted me the other day with the video for her latest song "Not For Love" for those of you who are not familiar with her, you are going to love it! For those of you who are already fans, prepare yourself for a whole new side of Grace Valerie and this time it's personal. Grace stopped by "Entertain Me" for a quick chat about her latest, and some laughs, and here is what went down...

MS: Hey Grace, how are you?

GV: Hi Michael, it's so good to hear you.

MS: It's been a while.

GV: Right?

MS: It was so great that you Tweeted me the video for "Not For Love" out of all the songs you have done, this is my favorite, it has an edge to it!

GV: Exactly! I love all my songs, but this is my favorite too!

MS: This song works because it is who you are.

GV: Yes, I have found who I am, as an artist I am growing.

MS: Are you still with Randy Jackson's label?

GV: I had a record deal with Randy and we did all of the songs we were supposed to do. This song was done by another producer, his name is Busbee, who has worked with Pink, Hunter Hayes and is producing Shakira's  new album right now. I've changed my music direction a little bit because I want to experiment and create different styles of music. To stay relevant you have to be open to new things.

"Amazing Grace!"

MS: Absolutely! I loved the video by the way. (laughs) I didn't see that ending coming! (laughs)

GV: (laughs) That was the point. When we did that video we really thought about the story, we wanted people to watch it as a mini-movie. The ending was meant to shock people, no one would ever thought that the ending would be what it is. It makes me happy that you were surprised by it. (laughs) It was really fun creating the whole video.

MS: You shot this in Nashville, what was it like creating in the music capital of the world?

GV: It was exciting! I love the city so much! My first time there was performing last April, I met a lot of people there, including Michael Stryker the director of the "Not For Love" video. So, when I went back to Los Angeles I was really excited to work with the people I had met in Nashville. When we decided to film "Not For Love" my first idea was to go to Nashville and work with Michael and his team. It was a pleasure to work there, it was so much fun!

MS: A friend of mine went to work in Nashville for the first time a few years ago and she loved it!

GV: It's so great, the city is so soulful!

MS: Can you tell everyone any other fun things you have coming up in 2014?

GV: There are a lot of surprises including another track and another video. There will also be a tour that my team is setting up, also a press tour and radio tour. In fact this Monday I'm going to be on "Dirty Pop Live" the radio show Lance Bass has on Sirus Radio XM. I'm very excited about that and I will be doing an interview with him and singing live on the show. This is a little surprise for everyone because the only song I know I will be singing for sure is "Not For Love" you will have to tune in to hear what other songs I am going to sing. (laughs)

MS: (laughs) Well Ms. Valerie I think this song is going to do a lot for you, I see big things coming!

GV: Thank You Michael, I appreciate your support!
