Hot Ghoul Summer

Lily Munster
Yvonne De Carlo

With the Internet conjuring buzz about Rob Zombie's upcoming take on The Munsters (based on what I've seen it looks frightening and not in a good way.) It made me think of the original 1964 version that I watched with glee in my parents living room. In reruns Minions, not when it originally aired, go it???

It also made me think of how much I loved Yvonne De Carlo as Lily Munster.

Thus Hot Ghoul Summer has arrived! Lily was my favorite vampire married to a Frankenstein monster ever! (mind you she was the only one, but who's embalming?)

Yvonne was a true Hollywood Beauty and no amount of ghoulish make-up could hide that and Frankenstein-ly it didn't.

OK, I've got some feeding to do before I make another bloody disgusting pun.

Get your Hot Ghoul Summer on!!!

Michael's Musings

Look Into My Eyes & Stop Staring At My Nipples
Michael Shinafelt
OK, I called this column Michael's Monday Musings last time, well because they were published on a F#@king Monday

From now on I will simply call it Michael's Musings. You never know when and where they will turn up. Are you ready? Here I go again!!!

Thanks to a well played PR stunt on Dancing With The Stars Ryan Lochte and Cheryl Burke remain. Like they would actually have Burke kicked immediately off after her return to the show?!

If you haven't seen Don't Breathe yet and are a horror/suspense fan, from one to another, I highly recommend it, go!

To Sex-Head, I mean E.G. Daily currently starring in Rob Zombie's 31, congratulations! To the rest of you see it, see it!

I heard a Latin Woman call a Latin Man "N" word pimp the other day. Thanks Donald Trump for the perpetuating of twisted hate.

I recently dumped 13 pounds. Worship me, I am 50.

Why is everyone forgetting Angelina Jolie is Bisexual all of the sudden?

American Horror Story Season 6 is off to quite the lively start. I jumped twice! Can't wait for tonight's episode.

The humidity in Los Angeles this week is grody to the max!

A shout out to Volcano Girl Shani Bayne who recently returned from Nicaragua producing a shoot in a, well, volcano. We met up for spin class for the first time in over a month yesterday, she had no lava burns or lamps.

To my favorite "bad girl" Ms. Traci Lords. Looking forward to attending the launch of your clothing line for Pin-Up Girl this Friday at the boutique in Burbank

That's all folks!

E.G. Daily...Live!

Here She Goes Again, Yay!
E.G. Daily
Photo: Erik Rimmer
Hey peeps, you know all about my friend E.G. Daily...correct? Well after years of doing voice over for various things, most notably Tommy Pickles from Rugrats and acting in everything from the classic Pee Wee's Big Adventure to Rob Zombie's upcoming 31. She is back to her singing career! Can I get an amen and a yay?! Of course I can!!!

With such hits as Say It Say It and Mind Over Matter - E.G. went back to her love of singing in a big way on the hit show The Voice in 2014, she was an audience favorite! She has ridden that wave since then with two popular appearances at the famed Whisky A Go Go on the Sunset Strip. The first being on November 22, 2015 the next being this past weekend on Friday July 22nd 2016 with co-headliner Missing Persons, that's so 80's!

I attended both with Erik Rimmer. This past one I went with him and cool rider Marla Graves. All images are from that night, enjoy!!!

Because Sharing Is Caring "Hired Gun"

My buddy Bam Bam Stegall who is married to one of my dear friends Karen Castricher-Stegall recently did an interview with Hired Gun Director Fran Strine. The documentary had it's premiere at SXSW.

This piece of truth is finding a common bond between regular working-class 'Joe's' and the working-class musician. It's pretty much a rock scene take on 20 Feet From Stardom starring my friend Darlene Love.

I love music and can't wait to see this Bam Bam

Cut to his awesome interview after the jump!

Lick it up with Bam Bam Stegall at:

E.G. Daily: Back On Track

EG Daily
No Caption Needed
E.G. Daily is an 80's icon known for movies like Pee Wee's Big Adventure and Valley Girl, as well as her hit singles Say It, Say It and Mind Over Matter.

She is also known for her prolific voice over work as Tommy Pickles on Rugrats, Buttercup in the Powerpuff Girls and Babe in Babe Pig In The City.

Last year E.G. came back to music in a big way by appearing on NBC's The Voice as a member of team Blake Shelton and is continuing that momentum and performing a unique one of a kind show by returning to the place that made her a star on the music scene, the Sunset Strip. Tell us all about it E.G...

MS: E.G. I hear your heading back to the Sunset Strip and performing at The Whiskey A
Go Go this November 22nd.

EG: I'm so excited I'm going to do my classic hits, "Say It, Say It" and "Mind Over Matter" from the 80's and then we're going to do some secret fun tribute things. We're also going to do some tracks from albums over the years and some brand new songs that are soooooo good! It's going to be a blast!

MS: Fun times at a cool venue and the return of E.G. Daily to the Sunset Strip where she started it all...

EG: I've been playing the Sunset Strip since I was fifteen. So it's so cool going back decades later and playing the Whiskey.
MS: When I first moved to Los Angeles you played The Coconut Teaser (now defunct) all the time.

EG: Yeah! I haven't been to the Whiskey in a while but I used to go there all the time, and I can't wait to return!

MS: You really put yourself out there again singing last year on "The Voice" as part of Blake Shelton's team, but kept a really low profile in that area of your career prior to that, what was going on with you?

EG: I went through about a year of depression, overall is was about two years. I had anxiety, I'd wake up at three in the morning panicking and have these adrenaline shakes, all this stuff. Then I started thinking: "What's going on here? What's not working in my life?" That's what you've got to do, you have to go in, you have to reevaluate your life. Then I totally remembered that I love to sing and started doing it every day. Getting back into singing started to change my life. During my two year depression I thought my life was over.

MS: Absolutely, that's how I felt during mine.

EG: When a caterpillar dies, and you think it's dead, but it's actually cooped up. It's reborn as a butterfly. That's what depression is, but when you are going through it, it's scary.

MS: I was ambushed and someone pushed me into therapy.

EG: Good! I went to a doctor and I'm like: "What is wrong with me? I'm dying," He's like: "No you're not your depressed" (both laugh)

MS: So how was it being on "The Voice?"

EG:  I came around again, and it made me brand new!

MS: That's such a great thing about that show, the exposure is amazing!

EG: Yeah, I would have liked to stay on longer, but it was a great experience! I would love to go back on there again.

MS: You've got a new movie coming out, Rob Zombie's "31."

EG
31
EG: It's bad ass! I play a great character in it! The critics are saying it's his best movie ever.

MS: My favorite Rob Zombie movie was the other one you were in, "The Devil's Rejects."

EG: Yeah, well this one they have literally said "31" is his best ever. I have a really cool part in it. I'm looking forward to getting into more acting, with really great, interesting roles again.

MS: So, November 22nd is a Sunday night, correct?

EG: Yes, Sunday night, people should get there around nine, me and my band go on at nine-thirty and we are going to do an hour set. It's going to be a great one of a kind evening, hope to see all of you there!

The Horror: Clea Cutthroat Can Spin Her Head 360 Degrees !

Clea Cutthroat Photo: Carlos Kella

What would Halloween be without checking in with "Entertain Me"'s resident Burlesque Biotch and Horror Fanatic Ms. Clea Cutthroat, I boldly went where I have never gone before with Clea, that's right we have made it past first base...

I asked her to name her five favorite horror movies and why that is. Are the answers shocking? Some of them. Are they scary? Oh yeah! But mostly they invite you into the diabolical mind that fuels our resident Queen of the Night -

OK, CC  let's get to it strike a poser with a backhanded slap, there's nothing to it...Give it to us, your Top Five that is...
Clea's #1 "The Shining"
1. The Shining-

I've been obsessed with twins ever since

2. The Exorcist-

Going to all girl's Catholic school, I watched it at a sleep over when I was 7...it scared that living shit out of me! Didn't sleep for 6 months, but at least by month 7 I mastered the 360 degree head spin

3. House of a 1,000 Corpses-

Dr. Satan, murder, satanic rituals...and last but not least, the hot Sheri Moon. Thank you Mr. Rob Zombie!
Clea's "Horror Girl Crush" Sheri Moon
4. Three...Extremes-

This is an Asian cross-cultural trilogy of horror films. We watched it on the Bonaparte tour bus...you will never eat a dumpling without of thinking of a dead baby AGAIN! Bon Appetit!

5. Halloween Resurrection-

Just in case your hanging with a large popcorn, smoking and drinking some gin & juice....how can you possibly go wrong with a little Jason & Busta Rhymes!!!

Really Clea?! Busta Rhymes?! OK, you get a pass, this time...Happy Halloween!

Have some gin & juice and watch "Halloween Resurrection" with Clea at:

"Is She Serious"?! - Showgirls 2...!

"They want class. They don't want to fuck a Penny" - Al Torres "Showgirls"

Well apparently Rena Riffel aka "Penny Slot" (wow that's one cheap jackpot) thinks you do. I received this press release in my in-box this ayem with the blaring headline:

"SHOWGIRLS 2: Penny's From Heaven"
on DVD and VOD September 17th

"Showgirls' alum Rena Riffel creates an epic, erotic satire
homage to the Paul Verhoeven cult camp classic"

Uh, OK...I must say despite every fiber of my being is saying: "Don't do it, don't watch"!  Being a huge fan of the original "Showgirls" - "Yes" I have watched it twenty plus times, I feel quite compelled to go for it, no matter the consequences....Yep, I am a glutton for punishment when it comes to things associated with a fond movie memory...Read on and see what you think...

Let the show begin... Again! Original Showgirls star Rena Riffel has taken her screen time in the original cult classic and spun in into an elaborate, erotic spin-off featuring cat fights, murder, new quotable dialogue, and plenty of brown rice and vegetables in the film movies.com says "Goes to a manic superstar level all its own."
Look Mom, No Hands
Joining Riffel are other Showgirls veterans, including Glenn Plummer ("Dexter, "Sons of Anarchy"), Dewey Weber, and Greg Travis (Rob Zombie's HalloweenWatchmen) as well as new recruits to the Showgirls legacy Peter Stickles (ShortbusThe Trouble With Barry), Shelley Michelle, Ford Austin and Paula LaBaredas.

Las Vegas stripper, Penny Slot (Riffel), sets out on an adventure to become the star dancer on a popular television show. With stars in her eyes, she tries to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow - but instead finds drama, danger and snuff movies in a town much more wicked than Sin City.

Penny's longtime fiance/boyfriend (Plummer) warns her that she needs formal technique training if she wants to be taken seriously as a real dancer, so Penny Slot sets out to learn ballet - but, she must pay the price to make it to the top.

So Cheap: Penny Slot
There are sacrifices to be made at every imaginable level, and it all comes down to... How bad do you want it?

This special edition DVD release of Showgirls 2: Penny's From Heaven includes a commentary with Rena Riffel, deleted footage, behind the scenes and more.

Special Friday the 13th screening in Las Vegas (9/13/13)

Happy Halloween !

Wanted to take a minute and wish everyone a Happy Halloween....!

Being a fan of all things horrific and supernatural, Halloween is my favorite Holiday as it brings those things to the forefront of everyone's psyche for an entire month, love it!

So, to celebrate this day, I wanted to share the trailer to my favorite horror movie ever, "John Carpenter's Halloween". I had to tag "John Carpenter" lest it get confused with the awful Rob Zombie remake. Carpenter understands what Zombie never could, the less you know about walking evil the more terrifying it is, the biggest mistake Zombie made in his re-do was giving a lot of back story as to why Michael Myers became who he was.

This was the first horror movie that had a huge impact on me and the only one that ever really got under my skin. Images of Michael Myers in his white mask walking towards me with a butcher knife gave me the creeps for years after.

Beware tonight you never know what is out there waiting for you....Happy Halloween!

Video: E.G. Daily "Wait"

It's time to roll out a video here at "Entertain Me" - "Wait" is an amazing video by friend and interview subject favorite E.G. Daily, who you may remember from such 80's classics as "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" "Valley Girl" & "Bad Dreams".

E.G. has been working on the "Me And a A Gun" project with music producer James Kaufman, for which I interviewed her for the first single and video, the lovely and moving "Somebody's Loving You" for at www.chorusandverse.com - here is the link: http://www.chorusandverse.com/content.php?id=20101210A

While I loved that song, being a horror fan I loved this even more as the visual references gave a shout out to "The Nightmare Before Christmas" as Ms. Daily looks done up like "Sally" from said movie and Rob Zombie's classic "The Devil's Rejects" in which Ms. Daily starred as a hooker who gets shot square in the head and wants to do Princess Leia from "Star Wars" drag...check it out, this song and video rules, word!
