"I'm Yours"

David Archuleta
Photo:
Brad Young

David Archuleta continues to spread his wings with more brand new music. His latest offering, “I’m Yours” is available today HERE and if this song doesn’t bring a smile to your face, not much will.  ““I’m Yours” is a song I wanted to get people dancing and smiling to. It’s all about letting yourself go and being happy with a feel good, summery vibe.””says DavidCheck out the lyric video HERE

David spoke about what’s on the horizon musically with Entertainment Weekly – “Up” it’s kind of like the prelude. It’s meant to tie where I’m coming from, my past, my history — but it’s also coming from a place where I was at the bottom of that, at the end of that path. I’ve lived out the end of this, and I don’t know where else to go. This is continuing down a very dark place, and I need to get out of it now. So this is me saying, I’m accepting myself as I am, as a queer person, and letting myself be seen, every aspect of myself. And I’m just letting all of me be seen now. And not being so afraid of hiding myself and being afraid of what people will say if people find out. I’m just like, you know what, now they know! And now it’s just moving up, and I’m gonna have fun. There’s no need to hide anything anymore — just have a good time.  There are some really fun songs that are gonna get people dancing as well, that I’m really excited about. And there are still some classic ballads. I feel like these songs are more about love, something that I always shied away from before because it was something I didn’t relate to. I don’t think I ever really experienced love the way everyone talks about in songs and novels and all that. I’m talking about what it’s like for me to experience it for the first time really and fully. I’m excited to share that, in fun ways, dance ways, and also in ballad-y ways. I’m excited to share this new chapter and these new songs with everyone. The first ones will be out the beginning of summer, leading to a full album release later this year.

"Dormir Pour Rever"

Lo-Flo Records Presents

New Single, “Dormir Pour Rêver,”

Written in 1972 by Composer Jane McNealy

Featuring Emmanuelle Raoul-Duval

Dormir Pour Rêver,” was inspired by the Tahitien mural, “D'où venons-nous ? Que sommes-nous ? Où allons-nous ?” or translated, “Where do we come from? What are we? Where are we going?” painted by the artist, Paul Gauguin.

When composer Jane McNealy and collaborator Alice Kuhns first started researching Gauguin’s life with the idea of turning it into a musical, McNealy recalled, "The more I learned about Gauguin’s life, the more there were so many unanswered questions: What happens when we look back and reevaluate our life? Are we filled with regret and questions that cannot be answered? How do we resolve our doubts and justify our existence? Does it matter?"

Although "I Lay Me Down To Sleep,” written in 1971, was never used in the musical, it was later translated into French, by her mother, Ann McNealy, in 1972. Fluent in French, and a poet in her own right, Ann’s translation, "Dormir Pour Rêver," is uniquely original. As Jane likes to say, “‘Dormir Pour Rêver’ was born with my mother’s own deeply creative interpretation and her own life questions.”

The composition is beautifully sung by Emmanuelle Raoul-Duval and accompanied by Ari Fisher’s elegant string and horn arrangement.

For the non French speakers who want to dive deeper into the lyrics, you can check out the video for “Dormir Pour Rêver,” produced by Julie Flogeac, which includes English subtitles.

Out and available to stream and watch on your preferred service!

Big Big Love

BELINDA CARLISLE TEAMS UP WITH DIANE WARREN TO UNVEIL FIRST NEW POP SINGLE RELEASE SINCE 1997!

“BIG BIG LOVE”

WATCH THE OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO HERE

Currently celebrating more than 35 years as a solo performer with her critically acclaimed Decades tour, the release of “Big Big Love” will be a delight to Belinda Carlisle fans around the world. With a great vocal performance, driving synths and an amazing hook, “Big Big Love”  sounds as huge as its title, with all the ‘hear it once, love it always’ appeal of Belinda’s biggest hits.

Discussing working with Belinda Carlisle again Diane Warren commented, “I'm so excited for everyone to hear Belindas new record. She’s never sounded better. It's so great to be working together again after all these years.  From “I Get Weak” and now to “Big Big Love,” a new chapter has begun.  I can't wait for everyone to hear these new hits!”

Belinda and Diane  first collaborated in 1987 for Belinda’s second solo album Heaven on Earth, which featured the Diane Warren penned songs, “I Get Weak” and “World Without You,” and also the anthemic, “Heaven Is A Place On Earth,” the track that shot to the top of the charts all over the world and established Belinda Carlisle as a global star.

In addition to Belinda’s new solo outings,  she has also recently recorded another Diane Warren track – “Gonna Be You” which is featured in the movie 80 For Brady. This song saw Belinda team up with Dolly Parton, Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Estefan and Debbie Harry - a line-up of female icons for the ages.

Discussing working with Diane Warren, Belinda Carlisle commented, “Twenty-seven years on from making my last English language pop record I really wasn’t thinking I would ever make one again…… and I was quite happy with that idea. Then a chance encounter in a coffee shop led me back to the wonderful Diane Warren and she gave me the incredible gift of this song and the other songs on my upcoming EP.”

Carlisle goes on to add, “Diane’s songwriting is both a joy and mystery to me. She makes it look so easy, where I imagine it must be unbelievably hard, to do what she does so amazingly well over so many years and so many records. I can’t thank her enough for writing this music for me and I only hope everyone else loves it as much as I do.”

"Do It Again"

Lit
Photo:
Nick Fancher

Go all in, go hard, no regrets. Rinse and repeat. It’s kind of been a motto of the band Lit for a very long time.  It doesn't always end well but it sure keeps it interesting and is the theme behind the band’s latest single, “Do It Again” HERE Of the track, “Do It Again” Lit says it’s about a dysfunctional relationship that you just can’t seem to say no to, because you like to see how crazy things might get. Could be a person, could be a substance, either way you kind of look forward to watching the wheels fly off the cart.” Watch the lyric video HERE

“Do It Again” follows Lit’s current radio single, “Mouth Shut” HEREWhether you posted something that didn't go over well, or you accidentally sent a text to the wrong person, we all have had foot in mouth disease at some point. Both tracks are off their long-awaited seventh studio album, Tastes Like Gold due June 17, 2022 Via Round Hill Records which you can pre-order HERE.

Lead guitarist Jeremy Popoff says, “We wanted to get back to the old school Lit sound with a modern day approach to the production.  It took a minute to get our heads in the right place, especially with all of the craziness going on in the world.  We started writing and making demos with Carlo Colasacco and YOUTHYEAR and we knew we had tapped into the vibe we were looking for. Tastes Like Gold is the album we wanted to make.”  Tastes Like Gold, produced by Carlo Colasacco, YOUTHYEAR & Lit features No Doubt’s Adrian Young, Butch Walker and American Authors

"Cover Boy"

Stewart Taylor

STEWART TAYLOR IS TAILOR-MADE IN “COVER BOY”

HIS NEW SINGLE AND MUSIC VIDEO

Stewart Taylor’s “Cover Boy” is a modern pop track with a seventies’ throwback vibe about falling in love, knowing your self-worth in a relationship, and not playing mind games along the way. Produced by DWhit and co-written by Taylor with his longtime collaborator Benjamin Samama, the song also draws inspiration from bold men who take chances with their style and aren't afraid to be both masculine and feminine, glamorous and rough around the edges.  “James Dean, Marlon Brando, Harry Styles, and Timothée Chalamet are by far my favorite cover boys,” says Stewart Taylor.   “I've always had a soft spot for the old school, brooding, classic Hollywood types.”  Stewart Taylor’s “Cover Boy” is being distributed independently and is available on Apple Music, Spotify, and all digital platforms.  Its video is available on YouTube.

“I was inspired to write ‘Cover Boy’ after landing my first magazine cover for my last single, ‘Mess Your Hair Up’,” Stewart Taylor continues from his Los Angeles home.  “I had just started dating someone new and the idea came to me when I felt like he wasn’t making enough of an effort to take things to the next level. I wanted to be his cover boy. I wanted to be front and center; the starring role in his life. The relationship didn't end up working out but it was a great premise for a song!”

“Cover Boy” expands both sonically and vocally from Taylor’s previous release, “Mess Your Hair Up”.   “I've evolved a lot as an artist over the years. I’ve tried on different sounds and outfits, stripped those things away, started over, and have rebuilt and rebranded myself into what I feel is the most authentic me in the moment.  I've come into my own with my music, dance, and fashion and everything I do now is a lot more influenced by funk and R&B while still staying very pop.”

Stewart Taylor sings in a sexier, lower tone on “Cover Boy,” reminiscent of early Robin Thicke.

The music video reflects his evolution as an artist.  Directed by Brad Hammer and styled by Kiki Xtravaganza and Kályd Odeh, the video is vintage, stylish, flirty and joyful.   Taylor turns out many different looks from Guess, Versace, and Chanel; surrounding himself with old vintage magazines, Polaroids, and a stereo from 1982.  He even dons a triangle jacket that pays homage to Madonna and the movie Desperately Seeking Susan

“I love bringing little moments from the past and carrying them into the future like that in videos. Hopefully some of the hardcore Madonna fans will get the reference!”

Stewart Taylor is an LA-based singer, songwriter, dancer, and MMG model. He grew up in a small town outside of New York City, where he began writing songs and performing in local talent shows and Lower East Side clubs. Since graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston, he's collaborated with Grammy-nominated songwriters and producers Charlie Puth, (Wiz Khalifa) Kara DioGuardi, (P!nk, Katy Perry) Jayson DeZuzio, (Imagine Dragons) and David Pramik (Selena Gomez).

In addition to writing for himself, Stewart Taylor has penned songs for Romanian pop star Antonia and American Idol's David Hernandez.   He is an active voice in the LGBTQ+ community and his coming out story was featured in the New York Times bestselling book, It Gets Better: Coming Out, Overcoming Bullying, and Creating A Life Worth Living.

“I struggled through this last year of pandemic,” he reveals, “but I'm coming out of it wiser and more driven to succeed than ever before.  I’m not waiting in the wing for the industry to shine its stage light on me.  Nor am I going to wait on the side while some guy decides whether or not he wants a real relationship.  My time is valuable and I’m not wasting another second.”

Stewart Taylor’s “Cover Boy ” is available on Apple Music, Spotify and all digital platforms.   Its video is on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=numGLNO6B7c.  Visit www.stewarttaylorofficial.com.  Follow on Instagram @  Stewarttaylormusic

"Gossip"

Sound of a Squint in Partnership with Symphonic

Release New Single

“Gossip”

By Experimental Electronic Duo

NMND

In Support of Skid Row Housing Trust

March 5, 2021

Sound of a Squint (SOAS), an imprint helmed by music industry veteran Allen Avanessian, has just released “Gossip,” a new single by NMND , today, March 5, 2021. Following the recent release of Mana Contractor and McLean Macionis’ debut EP, Integration, the duo’s next tune is a colorful and eclectic dance track featuring chopped-up vocals and lo-fi vibrations ricocheting over shards of broken breakbeats. Avanessian’s new label, in partnership with Symphonic Distribution, will donate a portion of proceeds to the Skid Row Housing Trust, a Los Angeles-based non-profit organization seeking to eliminate the structural causes of homelessness. To learn more about NMND, please visit https://linktr.ee/nmnd

We are thrilled to release our next single with Allen, says NMND. Our creative process is motivated by the intention to make a positive impact on people’s lives. Having spent most of our lives in cities surrounded by a growing homeless population makes this collaboration with Sound of a Squint, in support of Skid Row Housing Trust, that much more meaningful to us.

With their latest single, NMND builds on the collage process that is central to both artists’ creative practices. In Macionis’ words, “‘Gossip’ is a reflection on the power of our words and the manner in which we use them to influence the people around us.” Beginning with a cacophony of glitched-out conversation amongst family, Contractor improvises a melody garnished with an emphatic sigh; blowing off the drama before sharing her exasperation with a sly sonified eye-roll. Her voice is then pulled apart, rearranged, and reorganized using a plethora of creative technology. These alluring vocal manipulations spread like a rumor throughout the track, tempting the listener ever closer until they find themselves right in the middle of the conversation. Contractor calls out several repetitions of the phrase “you are” as if to point an imaginary finger toward the listeners themselves. The chorus signals a triumphant and unifying shift as the phrase “who we are” resounds over scintillating synthesizers and a playful lo-fi piano lead. The track is sealed with a kiss and Contractor’s lighthearted beatboxing leaves the listener tapping their foot having long-forgotten about what all the fuss was about in the first place.
