The Horror! Author M.E. Franco

She'll Put A Spell On You
M.E. Franco
It's that time of the year again minions, Halloween! Which also means it's time for the annual Season of the Witch tradition here at Entertain Me of chatting up fellow Horror/Halloween fan, author M.E. Franco.

M.E. is the author of the popular books the Dion Series which consists of Where Will You Run, Where Will You Turn & Where Will You Hide.

She is here to answer anything I throw at her, and she did! Shall we play games? Because...

"This is Halloween, everybody make a scene, Trick or treat till the neighbors gonna die of fright" - Marilyn Manson from Nightmare Before Christmas

MS: What scares you most, clowns or cockroaches?

ME: That's a tough one. I can outrun cockroaches, so I'd have to choose clowns. They're faster than they look. MS: Tell me what famous horror archetype is your spirit animal

ME: I can't be the cheerleader or the virgin, so I'd have to go with the nerd
F#ck
Jigsaw

MS: Let's play F#ck, Marry or Kill with these three names. Pennywise, Jigsaw & Michael Myers.

ME: Brutal. The clown has to go. I'd have kinky sex with Jigsaw, and I'd marry Michael. He's quiet. He wouldn't talk back if I asked him to take out the garbage. MS: Do you believe in life after love? Or more simply put, ghosts?

ME: Yes. I haven't seen one yet, but I keep looking.
Kill
Pennywise
MS: Which of the sexy men in your Dion series of books would you be for a day?

ME: I love Raith, but I'd be Reinn since he can travel anywhere MS: Being him what would you do?

ME: I would travel the world, and feed off people who piss me off. LOL

Marry
Michael Myers
MS: You are a supernatural being, tell me what you would be and how you would roll.

ME: Vampire, no question - long life, riches, power, great hair. The blood thing is a little gross, but I'd get past it. I'd travel the world and party with my friends. I'd have to give up tanning though. Sad face. MS: Whose plastic surgery is scarier, Caitlyn Jenner or Wayne Newton?

ME: Wayne Newton scares the sh*t out of me. No lie. MS: Do you dress up for Halloween?

ME: Every year! MS: Tell me the scariest thing that has ever happened to you during the Season Of The Witch.

ME: When I was a junior in high school, I made the mistake of listening to a friend of mine. She suggested we dress up like a pimp and prostitute and go trick or treating. I told her we were too old, but she kept bugging me until I gave in. Unfortunately, I was the prostitute. I never thought about all of the dads and grandpas who would be opening the doors. Got offered more tricks than treats that year! Scariest Halloween ever! LOL

The Horror: Child Eater

Nom, Nom, Nom, Nom...

Based on the popular short film with the same name, Child Eater is the directorial debut of Erlingur Thoroddsen and is a creepy, stylish roller-coaster ride inspired by the classic horror films of the 1980's.The deal was negotiated by Eric D. Wilkinson for MVD Entertainment Group and Raphael Margules and J.D. Lifshitz for Boulderlight Pictures on behalf of the filmmakers.

In Child Eater, little Lucas (Colin Critchley) goes missing from his bedroom in the middle of the night, his babysitter Helen (Cait Bliss) ventures out into the deep, dark woods armed only with a flashlight. But these are no ordinary woods. They were once the home of Robert Bowery (Jason Martin), a serial killer who years ago came for children's eyes in order to keep himself from going blind. But Robert Bowery was stopped and killed... or was he?

Originally conceived as an award nominated short at SXSW back in 2012, producer Perri Nemiroff shares her excitement in turning it into a full length feature film and it's 1980's horror inspiration: "Having grown up in the 80s, we're undeniably influenced by classic slashers like Freddy, Jason and Michael Myers, and also the tone of their respective films, particularly their ability to deliver powerful scares, but exhilarating and enjoyable ones, too. Child Eater is bigger, badder and scarier and really gave us the chance to subvert genre tropes and truly show horror fans things they've never seen before."

Following its World Premiere at the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival that boasted sold out screenings (a second late night screening was added which was sold out as well) in addition to winning four awards at the Fantastically Horrifying Cinema Festival (including Best Film, Best Cinematography and Best Actress), MVD Entertainment Group picked up the film for North American distribution. MVD's Director of Acquisitions, Eric D. Wilkinson, expressed his excitement about the film: "Like the filmmakers, I too grew up on 80's horror and immediately fell in love with this movie. Robert Bowery is every bit as scary as Freddy Kruger and in some ways, even more so. After fans watch this film I'm willing to bet they will be sleeping with their closet lights on!"

MVD Entertainment Group has scheduled Child Eater for release on March 28th via VOD, Digital and DVD.

The DVD can be ordered at the MVD Shop or on Amazon

It's October 1st and here at "Entertain Me" we celebrate the macabre by posting a whole month of what I like to call "The Horror" every posting this month will celebrate my favorite time of the year...30 more days 'till Halloween, Boo!

German Horror Filmmaker Timo Rose is the "King of Scream" in his native country, Timo first came to my attention via his mutant cannibals on the loose and in the woods gore fest "Barricade" starring two horror staples I am well acquainted with Raine Brown and Joe Zaso. Well what makes Mr. Rose frightened? Here to tell us his five favorite scare scenes in a horror movie is the Rose, Timo!

Timo Rose
1.) Jaws - when Quint dies - I think it's scary and brutal to see that an animal kills you right now ! hah...eaten alive must be hardcore ! I don't wanna die that way
2.) Grizzly - maybe the whole movie - it scared my when I was a little boy and I think it still scares me. It can really happen - and it's the atmosphere of the movie that scares me. Dunno why but I really love that movie
3.) Poltergeist - the pool- scene - when JoBeth Williams is falling into the water/ pool...and the corpes dive up... scary to see dead people swimming close to ya

4.) Silver Bullet - maybe it's the unreal that scares me...I don't know... like the scene when Corey Haim is sitting in his wheel chair and the werewolf is trying to reach him/ kill him... thats scary somehow... liked that flick...
Timo's #1 Scare!

5.) The Entity - guess it's the UNSEEN that scares people everyone is afraid of things they can't see ...
