Believe In The Power Of Dolly

I believe, I believe, I believe in the power of Dolly Parton!

Dolly Parton has joined forces with PledgeMusic to launch a pre-order campaign in support of her first-ever children's album, I Believe In You. Comprised of original tunes penned by Dolly, including a reading of her famed “Coat Of Many Colors”, the album is available digitally now, with a physical release slated for Friday, October 13.

Fans can pre-order the album in digital and CD form now on Parton's campaign page. The leaders in direct-to-fan platforms, PledgeMusic allows artists to get more personal with their fans, offering pledgers behind-the-scenes content and items not available anywhere else.

Inspired by her passion for fostering a love of reading amongst children and their families, as well as her beloved organization Imagination Library, I Believe In You is the star's first album written specifically for kids and those young at heart. This year marks 50 years since Dolly released her first album, and 20 years since Imagination Library was established; making the forthcoming album a special contribution to the singer/songwriter's legendary career and the cause so close to her heart.

Since its inception in 1996, the Imagination Library has expanded into four countries serving more than one-million children by providing a brand new, age-appropriate book each month.

With her PledgeMusic campaign, Dolly is inviting fans to join her in her dedication to promoting literacy and joy through music throughout America's promising youth.

Fans who pre-order the album via PledgeMusic will get the AccessPass, which will give them special access to exclusive items straight from Dolly. These include: an early digital download of the album; a custom outgoing voicemail recorded by Dolly herself, plus a CD and digital download; a Recording King RD-T16 guitar autographed by Dolly, and specially crafted to produce a vintage tone, deluxe hard case included; a signed tour laminate; and much more.

Michael's Musings

Let Love Rule!
Myself & J.M. Rich

Wow! What a motherf#cking week! Las Vegas will prevail. Yet the lives lost and people affected are unconscionable.

So this weeks tone is provocative (yeah OK, every week is) Can't we say and do anything we want at present? The jerk off who is "running" our country seems to think so. Thus if the image of tender affection between two men I posted of myself and J.M. Rich offends you. Seek serious mental help.

Moving on up I presume.

Luckily I did not lose anyone in the Las Vegas shooting. But I do have friends who did. WTF?!

Ph-Ph-Ph-Ph Photobomb!

The Only Bomb Anyone Should Drop
Tina Fey & Mariska Hargitay
What an intense week this has been and it's only Wednesday! Being that it has been I decided a little levity was in order via, what else? A celebrity photobomb, naturally...

This one is courtesy of funny lady Tin Fey on the 2013 Emmy's red carpet. See Tina give photobomb action to Mariska Hargitay of Law & Order: SVU.

Mariska is looking so stoic and Tina provides the perfect yin to her yang with a Cheshire Cat grin.

It's kind of like the state of the world at present. Think about it, but not too much.

Now it's time to bid adieu, so long, farewell and get your Hump Day on!

Don't Come Around Here No More

Tom in Wonderland
Tom Petty
Wow! Where to being on the death of iconic musician Tom Petty...he has had a huge impact on popular music and culture mere words, especially mine could not do him justice.

So, I will cover two things he did that meant a lot to me. Let's start with the byline - Don't Come Around Here No More, which is a great song, with an even greater video done with an Alice in Wonderland theme. Casting Petty as the Mad Hatter.

The images from the video and the song have emerged from my subconscious at many points throughout the years.

Another Petty moment that will always be a personal favorite is his duet with Stevie Nicks on Stop Draggin' My Heart Around. These two blend seamlessly and their voices compliment the others to perfection.

Dear Tom you had an amazing journey and left so many unforgettable memories may you rest in peace.

Walk Like A Slut

It's Super Slut!
Amber Rose
Yesterday was the Third Annual Amber Rose SlutWalk in Downtown Los Angeles. I thought about heading to DTLA to check it out having never been, but alas had too many of my own things happening.

Seriously though I have wondered for the previous two years what the exact purpose of SlutWalk was and what attending it would be like. Here is the mission statement via the SW website:

"To deliver a flawlessly executed event geared toward raising awareness about sexual injustice and gender inequality. The Amber Rose SlutWalk aims to impact and uplift, while shifting the paradigm of rape culture. The event provides a safe, all-inclusive space to entertain, educate, and empower"

Here is an overview of the SlutWalk experience:

"The Amber Rose SlutWalk is a day festival filled with many cool activities, contests and giveaways, vendors, speakers, panelist, performances, live DJs, sign making, educational booths, photo fun, free breast cancer exams, HIV testing, and much more"

Me likey, next year count this slut in!

Ghosts Can't Do It

Happy October 1st! It's the most wonderful time of the year here at Entertain Me, that's right I give Christmas the snub, I prefer Halloween.

What better way to kick off the season with a title of a little known Bo Derek film Ghosts Can't Do It with a plot that goes like this:

"Elderly Scott kills himself after a heart attack wrecks his body, but then comes back as a ghost and convinces his loving young hot wife Kate to pick and kill a young man in order for Scott to possess his body and be with her again"
Ooooops! She's Naked Again!
Bo Derek
Elderly Scott is played by Anthony Quinn, you know, Zorba the Greek. His young hot wife? Bo Derek, naturally. This was another of those amazing skin flicks directed and produced by her and her late husband Jon Derek which began with Tarzan The Ape Man.

Bo was my movie star grrrrrrrl crush ever since I saw her in "10" I even had a poster of her on my wall as a gay questioning teen to prove that fact.

Thus I kick off the supernatural month of October with a post about my love of Bo and her impotent ghost husband. Hey it's a pretty scary thought when you think about it...Boo!
