For Immediate Release: Ike & Tina - On The Road: 1971-72

If you are like me you love classic rock! You also know that despite their tumultuous personal relationship, Ike & Tina Turner were a kick ass music making machine!! I can't tell you all how excited I am for the release of this on November 20th 2012....!

By combining soul music with an explosive stage show, complete with the high energy dance choreography of Tina Turner and the Ikettes, and an ingredient sorely missed in today's soul - gritty rock n' roll - Ike & Tina Turner gained a reputation as one of the great live acts of all-time. In the early 70's, legendary rock photographer Bob Gruen and his wife Nadya toured with Ike & Tina, filming them performing, on the road, and behind the scenes. Now for the first time ever this footage is available to the public... This is a look inside a hardworking band as well as an iconic couple

With portable video recorders not as prominent during that era as they are nowadays, no one has seen scenes like this. But with the release of Ike & Tina: On The Road: 1971-72, fans are finally treated to a must-see behind-the-scenes view of the band, at the peak of their powers. Similar to an earlier DVD set, The New York Dolls: All Dolled Up, the Gruens toured with Ike & Tina and documented everything in black and white (and some color as well). Now, 40 years later, fans get to experience what it was like to be with one of the most popular touring/recording bands of this time period.

In addition to simply awesome renditions of several Ike & Tina classics, we also get a glimpse of the group at work in the recording studio, Tina and the Ikettes practicing their dance routines (and primping their wigs!), and goofing around on airplanes and in airports. We even get to see inside Ike & Tina's house and the couple's funky retro '70s home décor, as Tina cooks dinner for her kids.

A lot has been written about Ike and Tina's relationship over the years (mostly in the negative light). But for many years, they were able to coexist together in the public eye, and in the process, created some of the most exciting and gripping soul/rock music ever recorded. Now with Ike & Tina: On The Road: 1971-72, we have a more than worthy visual accompaniment to their classic sounds.

"The film Whats Love Got To Do With It? shows why Ike and Tina Turner broke up," says Gruen. "Ike & Tina: On The Road: 1971-72 shows why Ike and Tina were together for twenty years before that."

The Horror: M.E. Franco

M.E. Franco - Cemetery Style
Fellow Horror lover and author, M.E. Franco is here to have some fun with me and answer some geeky questions about Halloween!

M.E. is the author of the popular paranormal romance/urban fantasy "Dion" series of books "Where Will You Run" and "Where Will You Hide".

OK, fellow geek, let's get silly...!

MS: How excited are you for the premiere of "American Horror Story: Asylum"?

MF:  I cannot wait! Like "The Walking Dead", that show has actually made me squirm on several occasions and that is hard to do.

MS: Do you hope Adam Levine shows booty?

MF: Only once or twice every episode. Okay maybe three times, but no more than four. Okay, maybe four, but that's it.

MS: Is "Sadistic Nun" a redundant term?

MF: Absolutely.

MS:  What are you wearing right now?

MF: Pajamas, my favorite.

MS: Are you wearing that for Halloween or something different?

MF: I'll have to wear something different this year. I don't want to be "exhausted mom" two years in a row...lol.

MS: If you were a Halloween candy, which one would you be?

MF: Tootsie Roll

MS: Would you walk up to people and say "Eat Me"?

MF: Only if they made me mad

MS: What's your favorite scary movie & why?

MF: Scary movies make me laugh. I'm sick that way. So I love the campy ones like "Evil Dead 2" and "3". Although they are not movies, "The Walking Dead" and "American Horror Story" have actually given me the creeps on several occasions. I love that!

MS: Name which of these vampires you would most like to receive a hickey from - Dracula, Eric Northman or John Blaylock?

MF: That's a tough one...I'd have to go with Eric.

Eric Northman
MS: How would you react if one of your friends told you they were a supernatural creature?

MF: I would want to know if the person could turn me into one too. Unless he was a zombie. Then I'd have to pass. No one wants to be a zombie.

MS: Say you were "The Bride of Frankenstein" what would you want as a wedding gift?

MF: Fire. Frankenstein is not hot

The Horror: Joe Castro

Joe Dressed Down For Halloween
Here to celebrate the Halloween season is horror filmmaker, creature creator and make-up artist Joe Castro.

With his innovative "Terror Toons" series (1 & 2) and a library that includes titles like "Jackhammer" & "Near Death" This guy loves the macabre and the one day a year that celebrates it. Let's check in with the man behind the current award winning fright flick "The Summer of Massacre" about his favorite Holiday...Halloween!

MS: Alright Joe I know Halloween is your favorite Holiday tell everyone the five reasons why.

JC: #1 I love all of the black and white classic Universal Horror Films they show at Halloween time every year. Those movies really put you in the Halloween spirit and they really get to the roots of what horror is all about. "Dracula", "The Wolfman", "The Mummy" ..."The Invisible Man" is my favorite!

"The Invisible Man" is the scariest of all the classic Universal Horror Films, because he has the ability to murder people and because he is invisible he can't get caught. He's insane and a force to be reckoned with. If you have not seen this movie in a while, I suggest you go back and watch it.

JC: #2 This year will be different for me, but up until then I used to loved carving pumpkins. I'm on the bandwagon with saving the environment now. Not being wasteful of the Earth's resources, so this year I am making a huge pumpkin out of recyclables. I love them and I  loved carving them, so this year I am creating one instead.

JC: #3 Helping others make their Halloween costume is something that I enjoy doing. Now, I won't make them for them, but I will help out. If I made it for them I would not make it as good as my own (laughs) that's why I offer to help others make theirs. Especially someone who has really never gone out on Halloween I tell them when you go out with me it's like being Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, you have hundreds of people taking your picture. (laughs)
Joe's 2012 Halloween Greeting: The Great Pumpkin
JC: #4 I also love Haunted Houses, and going to Halloween Haunts. A few years ago I went to a Haunted Hayride where you walk around a cornfield, talk about turning into an instant child...I don't care what age you are, or how not into Halloween you might be, you go into a haunted corn field you let loose your inner brat. (laughs) It's one of my favorite things ever to do for Halloween. Also for many years I worked with the March of Dimes and helped put on really huge Haunted Houses for them, it was a blast!

JC: #5 Dressing up is my number one favorite thing to do for Halloween! It's the one time of year I can get as naked as possible in public. (laughs) Seriously that is my goal ever year how naked can I get on Halloween and not get arrested? This years "naked" costume is something I've never tried before, I'm going to make anatomically correct bat wings to wear and nothing else, except for something to cover what would get me arrested if it were exposed. (laughs) Being almost naked around everyone while they are dressed is my favorite thing to do for Halloween.

MS: What projects do you have coming up for all of your fellow horror enthusiasts?

JC: Steve and I are heavily involved in the production of "Terror Toons 3". It's called "Herschell's Gory Story", it stars Hershcell Gordon Lewis the "Godfather of Gore" and Brinke Stevens in a piece called "Brinke's Scary Story". We are forty five minutes into it right now.

Also "The Summer of Massacre" is available for download on "Amazon Instant Video Download".

MS: Thanks Joe,  Have A Happy Naked Halloween!

JC: I always do (laughs)

Sir Jet - "Shout Out To The Lonely"

Joel Evan Tye aka Sir Jet is back on "Entertain Me" you may remember him from my first chat with him
http://mshinafelt.blogspot.com/2012/01/popstar-author-sir-jet.html  with a groovy new single "Shout Out To The Lonely".

The ubiquitous Sir Jet, took some time out of his busy schedule to stop by "Entertain Me" to tell us about his latest, OK - take it away Sir Jet!

MS: So Sir Jet tell us a little bit about your latest "Shout Out To The Lonely".

SJ: It was a journey it took a really long time to put together, it was nine months by the time we got it out. It was like being pregnant and having a baby. (laughs)

MS: What is the message that you want people to take away from this single?

SJ: The number one message I want people to take away from this single when the listen to it is that no matter what  you are facing you are really not alone. We all feel lonely at times, but we are never really alone...no matter what situation you are in just know there is somebody out there just like you who could probably use your help just as much as you could use theirs. That's why you always see me reaching out in the video, reach out, you never know who is there for you when you need them.

MS: On a side note, there was a Director's credit and we all know why (both laugh) Carlton Wilborn one of Madonna's backup dancers who was featured in her film "Truth or Dare".

SJ: Yeah.

MS: He was the guy who jumped into bed with Madonna naked and she said his dick was huge and it smelled. (both laugh) - Spill the direction you are headed with this song.

SJ: This is one of four songs that I wrote and I am putting them together on an EP that I plan on releasing in November.

MS: Do you know what the title of the EP is going to be or have you decided yet?

SJ: It's going to be called "Shout Out To The Lonely".

MS: Perfect!

I'm such a Devil
'Tis the season to get scary, fa la la la la, la la la la - This October 2012 here on "Entertain Me" along with  our typical entertainment blogs, we are introducing a Halloween oriented blog that will be posted throughout the month featuring my fellow lovers of things that go bump in the night called: "The Horror" -

When you see this at the beginning of a blog you can either choose to run or bask in the glory that is gory, scary & fun!

Me on "The Lair"
Every subject of a blog with this caption is a lover of all things macabre and other worldly or directly involved in a project that is reflective of that sensibility -

So, here is a little something on yours truly, I love horror, I can't wait for the premiere of "American Horror Story" on October 17th! My favorite horror movie of all time is the original "Halloween" - Alfred Hitchock's "Psycho" is a close second.

I love haunted houses and hay rides and if I could be a supernatural creature I would love to be a vampire - oh and the late great Tony Scott's "The Hunger" is my favorite vampire movie ever.

The devil would be a second choice as a hot supernatural creature to be.

Also I have been in two horror projects, the Here TV Show "The Lair" where I played a "Leather Daddy Vampire" and the hot award winning flick Joe Castro's "The Summer of Massacre" where I play an undercover cop who gets his skull crushed in by The Boogeyman...!

Marie Parie "Dating"

Marie Parie is an “alien”. The Parisian pop atist has called the United States home since 2005. Her background gives her music a unique take on American Society.

Dating bewilders her, futuristic music excites her – and art is how she expresses it. To all of you strange creatures out there who don't know who Marie is, well it's time to get to know her.

Letting loose of her inner “alien” on her latest single it's “Dating” time with Marie Parie!

MS: Hi Marie, judging from your single “Dating” you seem to really not like it.

MP: Well...yeah. (laughs) It's not that I don't like dating, but I am from Europe and we really don't have this process of “dating” we don't even have a word for it. When someone asked for the first time if I wanted to go on a date, I'm like “What do you mean”? When it was explained to me what dating is, I was like, “Wow” I come from a completely different world.

MS: At first I wasn't sure what to make of the song and then I realized you were poking fun at “Dating”.

MP: Well what do you do? I decided to have fun with it, French people don't even know what “Dating” is. (laughs)

MS: So what is it French people do then to connect?

MP: You meet people and if you are really interested, you feel it in your heart and you like that person and you feel the potential, you and that person would go together, go have dinner, get to know each other, then you get to talk to the person and see if you feel something.

MS: Basically you are saying, you just like that one person and you go for it.

MP: Yeah, you are exclusive right away and if you want out later that's fine, not every relationship works, you are with that one person and not so many people at the same time. In America it's like Wednesday it's Sabrina, Thursday it's Marsha. (laughs)

MS: I must have been born into the wrong culture because that's what I like to do too.

MP: Part of what I like to do is challenge cultural norms, break down boundaries.

Lindsey Stirling Is Number #1...!

LINDSEY STIRLING’S SELF-TITLED DEBUT ALBUM HITS #1 (ELECTRONIC), TOP 15 MOST-DOWNLOADED ON iTUNES!
YouTube Sensation’s Channel Surpasses 137 Million Views, US Tour Selling Out – National Media Appearances Include “CBS This Morning,” “Extra,” “Entertainment Tonight,” “The Insider,” “FOX News!”
During the week of September 18th, Lindsey Stirling’s self-titled album release shot to #1 worldwide on the iTunes Electronic chart and debuted at #14 on the iTunes most downloaded list.  It also debuted in the Top 20 of Billboard’s Indie album chart.  She still currently has the #1 album as well as three singles – “Elements,” “Crystallize,” and “Moon Trance” – in the Top 10 in iTunes Electronic chart.

The hot album debut is no surprise, considering that Lindsey had previously sold over 300,000 individual songs mostly by word-of-mouth, several of which hit the iTunes Top 100 as well as the top of the digital electronic charts.

Currently on a US tour supporting Lindsey Stirling, most venues are sold-out, including her performance at NYC’s famed Webster Hall and her stops in major markets like Los Angeles, Boston, San Francisco, Philadelphia and DC, with all VIP ticketing and meet ‘n’ greet packages bought out in days.  In LA, a second show at the Roxy was added, and in her Arizona hometown a bigger venue was needed to accommodate high ticket demand!

Comprised of 12 original tracks, Lindsey Stirling showcases the YouTube sensation’s – over 137 million views and counting – signature violin-electronic-dubstep style.  Several tracks were co-produced by some of music’s hottest talents, including the Grammy-nominated DJ Poet (The Black-Eyed Peas).  Lindsey’s album is not only a big hit with fans around the world, but also with the national press: she’s appeared on “CBS This Morning,” “Extra,” “Entertainment Tonight,” FOX News Channel and “The Insider,” and will be seen on “Larry King Now” and KABC’s nationally syndicated “On the Red Carpet” among other outlets in the coming months.

Lindsey composes, choreographs, and directs all of her own original music and videos, merging unique violin stylings and electronic dub-step beats with animated contemporary dance.  Her wide array of videos are all available on her Lindseystomp YouTube channel, which has more than 833,000+ subscribers.

Between her YouTube Channel, social media outlets, and strong word-of-mouth buzz, Lindsey – a classically-trained violinist – has gained legions of fans worldwide, especially amongst gamers with her unique compositions from “The Legend of Zelda” and “Skyrim.”  She appeared as a finalist on “America’s Got Talent,” performed more recently at video game convention E3, and has played globally in such places as London, Italy, and Kenya.   Lindsey’s first headlining performance at historic Webster Hall in New York City sold out in a matter of days.

For more information, tour dates, and media appearances, please visit her official website, ww.lindseystirlingviolin.comFacebook page and Twitter.  Her new fan-oriented YouTube channel, LindseyTime, reveals a more intimate look at Lindsey’s life, music and fans.
