Get Out & Vote!

It's here the day we've all been waiting for the November 6th Midterms aka The People Strike Back!

Thus I posted my favorite Midterm Meme (say that three times fast.)

"Yes" it's raunchy and off color, but it adds some levity to my day and maybe yours, or perhaps not...

Whichever way you view it, you have a voice and you should exercise it today. If you don't then you have no right to complain.

I will be hitting the polls after my Abs & Spin Class this ayem. Join me in the back booth won't you? Yeah, I figured you would.

Get Out & Vote!

Need to find your polling place? Just click on the link below click your heels together three times and say "F#ck Trump!"

E.G. Daily Is "So Pretty"

If I Was The President Would It Be Evident...
E.G. Daily
"See me from the inside, inside out" - So Pretty, E.G. Daily

E.G. Daily is a music and film icon. She really hit big in the 80's with the movies Pee Wee's Big Adventure and Valley Girl. Oh and then there is her pop hit Say It, Say It

There is so much more beneath the surface. "Yes" E.G. has a new single and movement out "So Pretty." - Aren't we all more than meets the eye?

Are you ready? Let's get E.G!

MS: So can we talk "So Pretty?"

EG: It's basically like, um, I was writing for soundtracks for films. So I wasn't really thinking about it for myself as a song. After I wrote it, I had this really strong feeling that I needed to put it out. I felt this needed to be coming from me. So I financed it, and worked with my two partners. Now we need to get it out. It's a very important message. it's really timely, about what's going on right now. No matter whether you are a male or a female, young or old, we are judged on our outsides as people. and it's not fun, when you're busy watching yourself all the time. Why don't we be present so we can connect better.

MS: Oh Yeah. Since I have gotten older and I'm sure you will concur with this, you do care less about that stuff.

EG: Yeah, we are getting older, how much can you play? I like dressing up just as much as anyone else. I like taking care of myself, but it's no longer the priority. The priority is about connecting with each other.
Look Inside!
E.G. Daily
MS: The less we care the more fun we have.

EG: That's my favorite message of all, once you stop worrying about yourself magic happens. Once you get off yourself and start to be present in your day to day life that's when magical things will occur.

MS: I am obsessed with the gym and diet of late, while I get attention that isn't the reason I am doing it.

EG: You want to be healthy and take care of yourself. Yeah, you definitely want to take care of yourself especially as you are getting older. It's definitely about the bigger picture.

MS: Health is everything.

EG: I agree!

MS: It is the bigger picture, it's not like I am focused on that solely. There are a lot of other things going on.

EG: What's interesting about that is we asked people to send in videos to us about what lengths they've gone to, to be beautiful. It's funny because we got as many Men as we did Women. They would say they did things to harm themselves by not eating enough, or over exercise...some of them did surgeries that put their lives at risk, So, that's the thing. At what lengths do we go to to please other people? So when we got these videos in, it was every age range and every demographic, Male & Female.

MS: I'm not surprised. When I was young I felt pressure for that.

EG: Everyone no matter what age puts pressure on themselves about how they look on the outside. At what point is it healthy and not healthy? Where is the fun? You need to have fun!

MS: I love being in my 50's!

EG: I do too! I love seeing my kids getting bigger and being more mature adults, it's so beautiful.

So Pretty

MS: From a Mother's perspective how have you seen this affect your daughters?

EG: They've dealt with their eating issues their whole lives. A little girl wishes they could have the body of an older girl, an older girl wishes they could have the body of a younger girl. My daughters are very much about fashion and beauty. But, we make sure they are taking care of their insides in our household. You could have two hundred people around you doing your make-up, hair, wardrobe and nails and still not feel good about yourself. That's more of what the movement is about, That's why we have a crowd funding going on, so we can get the message out there globally.

MS: By the way Have you seen A Star Is Born with Lady Gaga?

EG: Yeah, I loved it! I thought Gaga was beautiful and transparent. I thought Bradley Cooper was great. It was a lovely movie. She got to show her talent, she's the real thing. She's real and is connected to something "So Pretty."

Here's the 411 on all that is E.G

Just Because...Courtney Love

Feel The Love
Courtney Love
Just Because I love her music. Just Because the Hollywood Forever Cemetery is the bomb & Just Because I can. It's a Courtney Love kind of Sunday!

See Courtney attend the Gucci Guilty launch party @ Hollywood Forever. Hey she don't wanna be buried in no Pet Sematary...

I have been a fan of not only Courtney Love's music with and without her band Hole. I am also a fan of her acting. She brings a feral quality to each of her roles and a presence to the big and small screen like no other.

Thus it's great to see her out and about and would be even better to see her act and make music again sometime in the very near future.

Today's Sunday Commandment is do something outside of your comfort zone and bend it like Courtney Love

Mic Drop.

The albums can be ordered here http://geni.us/ArchuletaWinter  and is available at all digital retailers.

Winter In The Air features 12 tracks including Christmas classics such as “White Christmas,” God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “Holly Jolly Christmas” and “Mary, Did You Know?”  In addition to co-writing the lead single “Christmas Every Day,” David also co-wrote the title track “Winter In The Air” and “He Is Born” for the new set.

“Christmas Every Day” captures the holiday spirit with David’s hopeful and cheery lyrics –

Sidewalks covered up in snow
Lights up everywhere we go
Santa’s on his way,
It’s Christmas every day
Friends all warmed up by the fire,
Sometimes I just wish that
I could always feel this way
Like it’s Christmas every day
If I could have one more gift just for me
Joy to the world it would be
With more Christmases under the tree.
David says: I tend to gravitate to more serious and slower Christmas songs. This time I wanted to have some fun and write a song that would make people happy and feel the joy of the holidays. With the help of Dave Barnes and Cason Cooley, Im thrilled with how our song “Christmas Every Day” turned out! It makes me happy.

Winter In The Air is David’s second Christmas album since 2009’s Christmas From The Heart release.  Christmas From The Heart has made a return to the charts every holiday season and has sold over 250K copies to date.  The album peaked at #2 on Billboard’s Holiday chart and Top 30 on Billboard’s Top 200 Album chart.

In support of the new release, David will kick-off a month long tour beginning November 26 in Los Angeles and will wrap up on December 21 in Utah.  Other cities on the trek include New York, Orlando & Nashville.  Click here for ticketing info:  https://davidarchuleta.com/home/live/

The Story of the Most Influential Radio Station in America

In August, 1982, a small group of radio visionaries at WLIR Long Island knew they couldn't compete with the mega radio stations in New York City. With one brave decision, they changed the sound of radio forever. Program Director Denis McNamara, the crew at the station and the biggest artists of the era tell the story of how they battled the FCC, the record labels, mega-radio and all the conventional rules to create a musical movement that brought the New Wave to America - including bands like U2, Talking Heads, Depeche Mode and Blondie.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKER
Ellen Goldfarb is the Creator, Director and Producer of New Wave: Dare To Be Different. Ellen grew up listening to radio station WLIR, which greatly impacted her life. Ellen is a major music buff and grew up listening to radio station WLIR. She experienced the format change in 1982 to "New Music" and was an avid listener and fan of the station. Ellen created Dare To Be Different to document the history and energy of the amazing WLIR at its heyday in the 1980's when it introduced New York and America to New Music and launched groups like U2, The Police and many others to greatness.

Ellen started Jomyra Productions to house New Wave: Dare To Be Different and other entertainment projects.
Ellen is a born producer and director who is excellent at organizing, networking, creating and getting the job done. She is currently residing in Los Angeles with her husband and 2 children. Ellen comes from a family of entertainment industry folk.
