"Bad Summer"

Maryland alternative-rock mainstays Ballyhoo! will release their new single “Slowly Dying” on August 14, offering the final preview of their highly anticipated tenth studio album, Bad Summer, out August 28 via Right Coast Records.

Stream “Slowly Dying” here:
https://1212.to/bhsd

Produced by John Feldmann (Blink-182, Avril Lavigne, Goldfinger), “Slowly Dying” is a full-throttle pop-punk anthem driven by big guitars, undeniable energy, and a soaring chorus built to be shouted back from the crowd.

“This song is a huge pop-punk ripper with a chorus that soars!” says frontman Howi Spangler. “We went into the studio with John Feldmann to make this album, and we wanted an anthemic pop-punk/rock track that would really step things up. John pitched the idea for the intro and chorus, and I wrote the verses. The guys came in and smashed their parts, and the end result turned out even better than we’d hoped. It’s a standout track among the band members, and we think people will love it.”

The new single follows previously released tracks “Bad Summer,” “Cali Girl II,” “I Guess I’ll Go Fuck Myself,” and “Thunderstorms,” each revealing another side of an album that moves between beach pop-punk, alternative rock, and massive sing-along hooks.

For Ballyhoo!, working with Feldmann marked a full-circle collaboration with a producer and songwriter whose work has long influenced the band. The sessions pushed Ballyhoo! toward one of the biggest and boldest productions of their career while preserving the chemistry, personality, and honest songwriting that have defined them for more than two decades.

“Ballyhoo! were a joy to work with!” says Feldmann. “They are all such incredible musicians and super open-minded, and we made an awesome album! I can’t wait for everyone to hear it. So stoked to be included in this musical masterpiece.”

Spangler adds, “We knew we wanted the next thing we did to be special, and I’ve always wanted to make a record with Feldy. We put ourselves out there and took a big swing to make that happen. The record turned out even better than I thought it would. We’re so very proud of Bad Summer, and we can’t wait for you to hear it August 28th!”

“Slowly Dying” arrives just days after Ballyhoo! wrapped their first European tour, which included appearances at BrakRock in Belgium and Punk Rock Holiday in Slovenia alongside club dates throughout the continent.

On Monday, August 24 at 8 p.m. ET, Ballyhoo! will premiere the video for the album's title track, “Bad Summer,” and join fans for a live chat during the premiere.

The band will return to the road later this month, beginning with an August 29 hometown-area performance at Cult Classic Outdoors in Stevensville, Maryland. Additional North American dates follow this fall, including a run with Bowling for Soup. Ballyhoo! will also join the 311 Caribbean Cruise in March 2027.

Nearly twenty-five years into their career, Ballyhoo! remain one of alternative music’s most enduring independent success stories, building a fiercely loyal audience through relentless touring, undeniable live energy, and songs made to be shouted back from the crowd. With Bad Summer, the band enters its next chapter without losing the chemistry and personality that brought them this far.

Bad Summer arrives August 28 via Right Coast Records.

Ballyhoo!

Ballyhoo!
Photo: Dennis Pike

For more than two decades, Ballyhoo! have been turning the restless energy of the Chesapeake coast into one of alternative music’s most feel-good and enduring success stories. The Maryland band’s "beach pop-punk" sound — a sun-soaked collision of pop punk, alt-rock, and massive singalong hooks — has carried them from clubs and festival stages across the U.S., Japan, and Canada to a fiercely loyal fanbase that keeps growing with every record and every tour. On August 28, Ballyhoo! will release their tenth studio album, Bad Summer, via Right Coast Records — a vibrant, hook-packed record that finds the band sounding bigger, sharper, and more confident than ever.

Produced by John Feldmann (Blink-182, Goldfinger, Avril Lavigne), Bad Summer represents a full-circle moment for Ballyhoo!, pairing the band with one of their earliest influences for what may be their most ambitious and accessible album to date. Across the album, Ballyhoo! double down on the punchy melodies, high-energy choruses, and undeniable melodic instincts that have defined their catalog from the start, while pushing their sound into a brighter, broader, and more explosive space.

“Ballyhoo! were a joy to work with,” says Feldmann. “They are all such incredible musicians and super open-minded, and we made an awesome album. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it. So stoked to be included in this musical masterpiece.”

That sense of excitement runs through every part of Bad Summer. While Ballyhoo! have always carved out their own lane, this record feels especially built to connect with fans of hook-heavy, feel-good alternative music — the kind of album that can sit comfortably alongside the pop-punk energy of Bowling for Soup, the ska-punk spirit of Less Than Jake, and the big-chorus summer immediacy of bands that know exactly how to turn catharsis into a party. It’s still unmistakably Ballyhoo!: loud, breezy, emotionally direct, and impossible not to move to. But there’s also a fresh immediacy here that makes the album feel like a genuine leap forward rather than simply a continuation of what came before.

The album release follows a string of standout singles that have already offered fans a taste of what’s ahead, including the title track “Bad Summer,” “Cali Girl II,” and the gloriously unfiltered “I Guess I’ll Go Fuck Myself.” The next preview, “Thunderstorms,” arrives July 31, further building momentum toward the full-length’s release.

Pre-save Bad Summer and stream the singles here:
badsummer.ballyhoorocks.com

If Ballyhoo!’s studio records capture the band’s charm, their live show is where that chemistry truly explodes. Their concerts are sweaty, celebratory, and relentlessly fun — the kind of sets that turn casual listeners into diehards by the final chorus. That reputation has earned them appearances on the Vans Warped Tour, Oceans Calling, and Punk Rock Holiday, along with support slots for 311, Reel Big Fish, Dirty Heads, and Less Than Jake.

This summer, Ballyhoo! will take that live energy overseas for the first time with performances at BrakRock and Punk Rock Holiday in Europe, before returning stateside for a fall tour with Bowling for Soup. The band is also set to appear on the 311 Caribbean Cruise, sailing March 10–15, 2027 from Miami to Jamaica and Grand Cayman.

For a band ten albums deep, Ballyhoo! sound anything but complacent. Bad Summer captures a group still pushing, still growing, and still chasing the kind of songs that can soundtrack both the best nights and the messiest mornings of summer. It’s a record built on everything Ballyhoo! have always done well — huge choruses, easy chemistry, and a sense of joy that never feels forced — but delivered with a renewed sense of purpose that makes this chapter feel especially significant.

Bad Summer arrives August 28 via Right Coast Records.

"Carolina Liar"

Carolina Liar is the project of Charleston, SC native and Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter

Chad Wolf. After working for legendary songwriter Diane Warren and recording in Stockholm
with Max Martin — one of the biggest pop producers of all time — Wolf broke through with the
2008 Atlantic Records debut Coming to Terms, which spawned the double platinum-certified
"Show Me What I'm Looking For" and gold-certified "I'm Not Over." The songs soundtracked
The Hills, 90210, Gossip Girl, and What Happens In Vegas, and launched tours with Rob
Thomas, OneRepublic, Kelly Clarkson, and Gavin DeGraw. Outside of Carolina Liar, Wolf also
formed the alternative rock duo The Federal Empire with Grammy-nominated songwriter McKay
Stevens, whose songs remain a regular part of Carolina Liar's live sets.

"Show Me What I'm Looking For" went viral on TikTok in 2021 — generating over 70,000
creates and driving millions of daily Spotify streams at its peak — and still pulls over 144,000
streams per week with zero promotion eighteen years after its release, surpassing 169 million
total streams across platforms. Wolf has collaborated twice with Martin Garrix — on 2016's
"Hold On & Believe" featuring The Federal Empire, and 2024's "Smile," performing live during
Garrix's sold-out run at San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.

Now operating as a stripped-down two-piece with drummer Brian Ulery under the banner of
"Garage Gospel" — a raw reinvention built on honest songwriting, delivered with the intensity of
a sermon and the intimacy of a living room — Wolf is entering a new chapter. New single "I Am
King," out June 26th, is the first true expression of that direction. Carolina Liar's music is also
heading to the big screen in the upcoming comedy Concert Heroes, starring Chris Kattan and
Horatio Sanz, where the songs serve as the soundtrack for the film's fictional band and Wolf
makes a cameo appearance. A limited-edition vinyl re-release of Coming to Terms with
exclusive tracks is expected later this year.

"Love For Free"

David Archuleta’s evolution as a person and artist are on full display with his latest music offering, “Love For Free” where he taps into the themes of growth through duality.  “Love For Free” finds David getting lost in the upbeat energy of the music while gently shedding the layers of his past that have been brought to light this year with the release of his New York Times bestselling memoir, DEVOUT HERE and embracing who he has become today in 2026.  The release will also feature an additional new track, “Better Than You,” both songs HERE produced by LEVÉ.

“Love For Free” is about knowing your worth, not dealing with games anymore and setting boundaries. You learn and grow, and this is blossoming into someone who realizes they're not messing with other people unless it's time well spent and with people who have the right intentions and value you as a person.  While “Better Than You” is a song about reminiscing. Nostalgia of a beautiful time that once was. It's also acknowledging the delusional way of seeing someone, only highlighting the brighter days and moments, and not the ugly side and toxic dynamic that may have existed. You still can't help but miss whatever it was. Even if it isn't true how you see it in your head vs how it actually was. Says David

LEVÉ shares ““Love For Free” comes from a very real place in David's life, surrounding both family and friendly connections. At its core, it’s all about self-worth and boundaries. It’s a pretty bold way of refining your own standards in any relationship without getting too deep. To me, the song is very fun, and I’m excited to see the energy it brings to David’s catalog.”

"Gonna Be Alright"

Chaser

Southern California melodic punk band CHASER return with Gonna Be Alright, a new 2-song 7” arriving May 29, 2026. Featuring a reimagined version of Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds” alongside a newly reworked version of the fan-favorite “My Promise,” the release captures the uplifting spirit and emotional sincerity that have become central to the band’s identity.

While the band is still working toward its next full-length album, Gonna Be Alright serves as a special release created to bridge the gap before an extensive summer touring run across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Vinyl copies of the 7” will be available exclusively at CHASER live shows.

“We are so excited to share this release,” the band says. “While we’re not quite ready for a new full-length yet, we wanted to put something really cool out before our tours this summer. These songs came out amazing and we know people are going to sing along with them at the shows.”

The first single, CHASER’s energetic punk interpretation of Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds,” is out now. Built around soaring melodies, driving rhythms, and the band’s trademark emotional urgency, the track preserves the optimism and warmth of the original while giving it a fresh melodic punk energy.

“When my son was born, the first song I sang to him in the hospital was Bob Marley’s ‘Three Little Birds,’” says bassist Jesse Stopnitzky. “So we reimagined it as an upbeat punk rock version, adding our thumbprint while preserving its message of positivity, hope, and unity, which are the ethos of our band and live shows. Built for summer, this high-energy nostalgic singalong is a feel-good reminder that everything’s gonna be alright. It seems we can all use some good vibes right now.”

The second track, “My Promise,” arrives May 29 alongside the official release of the 7”. Originally appearing as an acoustic song on the band’s 2010 album The Big Picture, the song has been transformed into a soaring melodic punk anthem while maintaining its deeply personal core.

“I wrote ‘My Promise’ for my daughter when she was born in 2006,” explains vocalist Mike LeDonne. “It’s a heartfelt song about protecting the ones you love and always being there to guide them through life. Twenty years later, this reimagined melodic punk version captures a new perspective on parenthood. The lyrics and message are as pure today as they were then.”

Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Paul Miner at Buzzbomb Studios in Orange, California, Gonna Be Alright also showcases visually striking artwork from two celebrated artists in the punk scene: Mark De Salvo and Samuel Lucas. Each side of the 7” features completely different artistic styles while remaining connected through themes of hope, light, and positivity.

“We wanted the artwork to feel completely different from each other stylistically, while still capturing the same emotional thread,” says the band.

For “My Promise,” Mark De Salvo created a hand-painted canvas piece using warm colors against a darker palette to reflect the song’s heartfelt emotional weight. Meanwhile, Samuel Lucas brought bright, vibrant tropical imagery to “Three Little Birds,” capturing the uplifting spirit of the song while subtly paying homage to the original music video by depicting the wolf and pig as allies rather than enemies.

Homegrown in the heart of Southern California, CHASER — comprised of Mike LeDonne (vocals), Jesse Stopnitzky (bass/vocals), Bill Hockmuth (guitar), and Davey Guy (drums) — have spent years building a reputation as one of melodic punk’s most positive and emotionally resonant live acts. Since 2018, the band has toured extensively throughout Europe, Canada, and the United States, appearing at major festivals including Brakrock Eco Fest, Music 4 Cancer, Envol Macadam, Jera On Air, Punk Rock Holiday, and Punk In The Park, while completing multiple headline tours overseas.

Known for their uplifting and unifying performances, CHASER continue to connect with audiences across punk, hardcore, metal, and rock through songs rooted in resilience, sincerity, and community spirit.

With Gonna Be Alright, the band delivers exactly what its title promises: a timely reminder of hope, connection, and finding light through music together.
