This weekend the Pride Celebration in West Hollywood kicks off on Friday May 30th leading up to the Pride Parade on June the 1st. June is the beginning of Pride Month. 

While I won't be taking part in any of the festivities, I will be celebrating nonetheless. For example, right here, right now....Happy Pride!

A Twerk Anthem Celebrating Body Positivity and Bear Love

 

Out singer-songwriter Tom Goss is dishing out a deliciously audacious new track with the release of “Bear Soup,” the fourth and fiercest installment in his beloved “bear song anthology” series. Following fan favorites like “Bears,” “Round in All the Right Places,” and “Nerdy Bear,” this high-energy, bass-driven banger is a celebration of body positivity, joyful indulgence, and the vibrant bear subculture.

 

Produced by Maya La Maya and featuring the unapologetically bold, Brooklyn based rapper Chris Conde, “Bear Soup” is a twerk-ready anthem that blends playful eroticism with club-thumping beats. It's an invitation for listeners to shake, jiggle, and bounce—however and wherever they please.

 

“I was thinking about fun ways to celebrate body positivity, especially within the bear ecosystem,” says Goss. “It occurred to me—why don’t bears have their own twerk anthem? Most bears have more to twerk with than just their butts. I want folks to twerk their bellies, their butts, and anything else that jiggles!” 

 

Musically, “Bear Soup” marks a bold departure for Goss, who describes it as his most dance-driven release to date. Drawing inspiration from artists like Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Ice Spice, and Flo Milli, the track pulses with vibrant, club-ready energy. “I was listening to these artists while on tour, constantly writing and re-writing the lyrics,” he explains. “Maya and I spent nearly a year locking in the perfect tempo and vibe. When Chris Conde dropped his hefty, beefy verse, the track truly came alive.”

 

The single’s music video—directed by longtime collaborator Michael Serrato—is a riot of body diversity, poolside sensuality, and unapologetic camp. Shot in a heated pool on a brisk December day, the video is a joyful, community-powered celebration of queer bodies and liberation. “We wanted to create the kind of playful, sexy visuals we wish we’d seen growing up,” says Goss.

 

So, what exactly is “bear soup”? Goss explains: “Take a pool, toss in a gaggle of jolly bears, chubs, admirers—or anyone who wants to get wet. Add a dozen or so more beefcakes, and you’ve got yourself a hefty meal!”

 

Since his breakout hit “Bears” in 2013, Tom Goss has been at the forefront of a queer musical revolution—shaping the genre while always marching to the beat of his own drum. His music consistently champions self-love, authenticity, and queer joy.

 

And as the beat drops on “Bear Soup” and bodies move, Goss’s message couldn’t be clearer: Life’s too short not to twerk like a bear. “Be proud of who you are and what you bring into the world,” he says. “It really is that simple.”

 

Next up for the trailblazing artist: the pop banger “Gay Stuff” and a full Americana album is on the horizon.

Hey, It's National Towel Day

The things you find out while surfing the WWW whoa! Well as you may have guessed from the byline I found out today, May 25th, is National Towel Day. But it's not what you think. 

I got excited because I thought it meant I could do a post of a hunky male celebrity in a towel, but alas.

Towel Day  commemorates the work of the author Douglas Adams, most known for his series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

It all relates to this passage from the books:

"A towel is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have."

Friday Feeling

With the release of Meghan 2.0 on June 27, 2025 drawing near she's popping up all over in ads and on billboards to remind us "I'm Still That B." 

Which is quite reassuring as the commercials lead one to believe that the AI android doll may have gotten soft in her temporary retirement.

I enjoyed the first incarnation of Meghan, looking forward to the second. Hey, if it's like the first it will be a fun time at the movies.

Yesterday whilst taking a Saat Naam reprieve aka yoga at Hollywood Forever Cemetery I saw these three peacocks ("Yes" they live there, along with ducks, geese, feral cats and others) standing in formation before class began.

I usually get there a half hour early to walk about the grounds and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the surroundings before class actually starts.

Thus I was fascinated that each of these three peacocks were standing and striking a pose on each tier of this wall overlooking the lawn in front of the Douglas Fairbanks Jr Memorial where we meditate.

Honestly my take is they knew I was there and were strutting their stuff for me.

Nature, gotta love it!

Sour Party

Anchor Bay Entertainment is proud to announce the June 10 release of Sour Party on Blu-ray and DVD. Directors/writers/producers Amanda Drexton and Michael A. Drexton bring us the story of two thirty-something women who are drifting through life until a family event forces them to face their shortcomings and grow up.  

Gwen (Samantha Westervelt) and James (Amanda Drexton) have done their best to avoid getting real jobs or being accountable adults. After their latest failed attempt at money-making, Gwen gets a call from her pregnant sister about her upcoming baby shower. Determined to show her family that she’s not a failure, Gwen decides to buy a gift listed on the online baby registry. This turns out to be an expensive decision.   

They cycle through ideas, until deciding to drive around Los Angeles looking for their artsy friends who they believe owe them cash. Can they collect anything before the baby shower in the afternoon? Along the way, Gwen and James learn quite a bit about themselves, their lives, and the people they considered “friends.”  

Sour Party includes hilarious performances from Reggie Watts (Comedy Bang! Bang!), Corey Feldman (The Lost Boys), and Christopher Rodriguez Marquette (Barry). Sour Party is a buddy comedy about a time when emotionally stunted friends might need to grow up.

Law & Order: SVU has been my favorite TV Drama since it premiered September 20th 1999. Cut to it making TV history as the longest running drama on network Television ever when it was renewed for season 25. Then is was renewed for a 26th season.

Guess what Minions?! Here comes season 27!

Cheers indeed! I am so happy that there is at least one more season left of SVU. It's been an important part of most of my adult life.
