Whether Ms. Walters is officially using her timely quote on any New Year's Eve broadcast remains to be seen and heard (if she is I suspect it's going to be a surprise, or archival footage of her doing it.) I wanted to use the quote today here on Entertain Me to with you and yours a Happy New Year!
However you choose to spend your evening be safe and have fun! Personally New Year's isn't a thing for me. I like to spend it at home where it is nice and quite and doesn't cost me an outrageous fortune.

Well wonder no more, while I was browsing Twitter Pee Wee Herman was so kind as to point out today is National Card Playing Day. "Yes" this is a good activity to while away the hours until the next big to do, the celebration of the 2020!

The time has come to say "Get off your dead ass and do something" - yep I took some much needed down time during the New Year celebration now it's time to "Get Into The Groove" again.
Meaning hitting spin this AM, weighing in and crossing my fingers that I still have only gained three pounds of Holiday weight as I did treat myself to In-N-Out Burger yesterday, hey it was New Year's Day what else was I supposed to do?!
For some reason while browsing the WWW upon waking today, January 2nd of 2018 this image of Britney Spears performing in Vegas on NYE caught my fancy and is fueling me with inspiration. No, I am not really a fan of hers, but, I do like a handful of songs she has done here and there. From the looks of the stage she is performing one of my faves of hers Circus.

The things going on with you from last year aren't going to magically disappear at the stroke of midnight, they will carry over. Not to mean that is a bad thing, it simply means you are still going to be you. Sure you can work to improve yourself, in many ways like your health, taking a class and learning something new or being the change you want to see in the world. But new you, WTF?!
All we can do is the best we can by constantly striving to become our authentic selves in service to a better world to inhabit. Thus I never make New Year's resolutions they are only a recipe for failure and I am constantly working on bettering my world all year long.
Basically all NYE means is it's a different year. Nothing more.

What are your plans tonight? Any traditions? Well whether my plans have been staying in or spending time with friends for it, Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve in Times Square, New York City has always been my go to show to the count down to midnight. I mean who can resist watching a ball drop slowly? Admit it you know you can't.
The only time I have never watched it was when the world rang in 2000. I was in a club with three levels that had different music themes, and yes I am going to stop there. That was the exception to this my otherwise steadfast unofficial tradition.
While things have changed over the years about the show it still remains the best way to rock in the upcoming year.
So, if I don't fall asleep before the clock strikes twelve on January 1st 2017, I plan to hang with Ryan Seacrest & Jenny McCarthy and a dropping ball with whoever else may be with me.
Let's hope 2017 errs on the side of good shall we?

Tonight's the night that the venerable institution on TV known as Dick Clark's New Years Rockin' Eve airs, hosted by your neighborhood friendly Ryan Seacrest.
This year he has brought Jenny McCarthy on the East Coast, and Fergie on the West Coast along for the festivities.
Of course we all know the real reason everyone will be tuning in...Super Group Pentatonix is scheduled to perform!
The Question is "What songs will they perform tonight?" Hey it doesn't really matter, it's PTX and they are bomb ass!
