Earthly Delights

Basking in the huge success of his worldwide hit “Crème Brulée” HERE (& the remix HEREand follow-up singles, “Can I Call You” HERE & “Dulce Amor” HERE off his recent Earthly Delights EP, David Archuleta is ready to share more new music with a deluxe edition to be released on September 12 - HERE

The Earthly Delights (Deluxe Edition) EP is David’s first collection of new music in over five years with the deluxe version featuring two brand new tracks - “Fade To Black” (written by David, Michael Cody Dear, Ryan Nealon and Alexander Lewis who also produced the track) & “Inside Out” (written by David, Noah Davis,Ryan Nealon and Michael Blum who also produced the track) as well as acoustic versions of “Crème Brulee” and “Can I Call You.”

David says about the Earthly Delights (Deluxe Edition) EP – I’m thrilled to share these extra new songs on the deluxe edition of the “Earthly Delights” ep.  I’ve been inspired by so many new things in my life these past few years, and I felt like these songs deserved to be part of the story that I want to share with you all.  It’s fun for me to include you on my journey as I create all this new music and I hope you enjoy these songs as much as I do.”

“Fade to Black”

“Fade to Black” is a sassy song about moving on with life and prioritizing yourself after giving too much time to the wrong situations. Time to prioritize your own well-being.”

“Inside Out”

Inside Out” is a 80’s or 90's influenced throwback sounding song. It’s an intimate song about getting someone to open up more in a relationship and encouraging your partner to let their guard down more after having a wall up and being tough from whatever life has thrown at them, but done in a sexy way.”

David previously shared about Earthly Delights - “I’m in my indulgence mode when it comes to giving into my sensuality. Something I always villainized before. There’s something sweet about being naughty. And it’s actually helped me to get in touch with more tender vulnerable parts of myself. So Earthly Delights is taking in the pleasures of what I always thought would keep me out of heaven. For the belief I always had of the hell and unhappiness I would experience for giving into my “carnal nature” of sexuality, which is the natural instinct of humans and even what leads to the source of life itself, here’s to a big F you to my old fears and embracing the sensual side and “earthly delights” of how good and rich it feels. It really is the source to life.”

Questioning his beliefs and the indoctrination of his youth, the innately angelic David has fallen out of graces with the church and his family. Traversing through his own personal hells, he finds a connection with his inner strength in the process— and grounding in his own authentic queer identity. David now re-emerges into the realm of earthly delights. Here, he explores the pleasures and pain of terrestrial life: the sweet indulgences of connection and heartbreak, sensuality and physicality. Innocent at the core, but now balanced and rounded by newfound flirtiness and sass, boldness and humor— he’s an embodied being of the earth, here to take in the full spectrum of what life has to offer, with courage, playfulness, and a beaming inner light.

With all of this new music under his belt, David will hit the road for the first time in over five years and bring his dynamic live show here to stages across North America performing new tracks from his Earthly Delights EP as well as fan favorites “Crush” “Afraid To Love,” “Hell Together,” “A Little Too Not Over You” and more this fall.  The month long trek which is set to hit such cities as New York (SOLD OUT), Philadelphia, Toronto, San Francisco, Phoenix and more will feature support acts Alexandra John (9/17 thru 9/29) and Rachel Bochner (10/2 thru 10/17).  All dates on sale HERE.  A limited number (50 - 75) of special VIP packages will be available for $200 USD (excl.ticket face, tax & fees).

Hump Day & Chill

Hump Day & Chill with Margaret Cho!!!

Margaret Cho - the five-time Grammy and Emmy nominated comedian/actress has announced she will embark on a new stand-up comedy tour starting in August with her brand new “blistering and brutally honest” show, “Choligarchy.”

“My new show Choligarchy is bringing me back to my roots as a political comedian. I’m so frustrated with the state of the union and I know the only weapon I have is humor. We are being taken over by the richest people in the world but the one thing they cannot afford is jokes at their expense. I want to fight fascism with everything I have. This will be my most blistering and brutally honest show yet! Let’s tear down racism, homophobia and sexism with all that we have. We have to fight for what we have now, because if we wait any longer, it might be too late to save ourselves” says Margaret.

Cho goes on to share –

“Not only do we need more than impeachment. We need a full cabinet removal. Gavin Newsom has to go in with California Closets and redo the whole thing.”

I will fight Kristi Noem at the med spa of her choosing. We would both have to dissolve our filler beforehand to ensure a fair fight.”

“Choligarchy” will bring Margaret to San Diego, New York and Philadelphia among numerous other stops. Tickets on-sale July 21 HERE

"Margaret Cho inspired me since I was a kid. She was someone who was queer, Asian and doing something that you did not immediately associate with an Asian person. There's a dearth of representation when it comes to queer people or Asian people, but I have to give credit to the people who have been out here doing it, and that's definitely Margaret." Bowen Yang

“The Notoroius C.H.O.! Margaret is a jack of all trades and master of many.  Whether conjuring the spirits of George Carlin, Joan Rivers or Lenny Bruce, she is committed to navigating the world of comedy and uniquely making it her own.  Completely unapologetic about the life experiences that have shaped her path and journey to where she is today.  These are just some of the reasons I love Margaret.”  Wanda Sykes

Margaret Cho is a pioneering, trailblazing, genre-busting badass. She also happens to be extremely amusing.”  Shirley Manson of Garbage

Margaret doesn’t just kick the door down. She lights it on fire.” Atsuko Okatsuka

“Margaret Cho is my soul sister, we see the world through the same lens trying our damndest to make things just a little groovier, mellower & a lot more fun. I admire her deeply. You’ve got to experience her live to get the whole picture so get up & make it happen! She is one of a kind” – Sandra Bernhard

I’ve said it before but it bears repeating: I would not be doing what I do without Margaret Cho. Her comedy was daring and bawdy and incisive when I first discovered her early work and seeing her now it’s remarkable how she’s been able to evolve, stay relevant and remain one of the funniest comics working today.”  Joel Kim Booster

In addition, Margaret continues to be the must-see comedian-actress with new acting roles on the horizon - Margaret has been cast as one of the Gray Sisters alongside Sandra Bernhard & Kristen Schaal in Disney's season 2 of "Percy Jackson and the OlympiansHERE  and in Gregg Araki's next film, "I Want Your Sex" with Olivia Wilde & Charli XCX.  Margaret’s star has continued to rise in recent years with starring roles in Hulu's EMMY nominated rom-com movie -"Fire Island" (People’s Choice Award, GLAAD Media Award, Dorian TV & Gotham Award winner) with SNL alum Bowen Yang and with Iliza Shlesinger in Netflix's "Good on Paper." Margaret also starred in Netflix’s “OUTSTANDING: A COMEDY REVOLUTION” docu and in the Disney+ "Prom Pact" movie - watch trailer HERE . Margaret was also part of Netflix's “Stand Out Comedy Special” and "Over The Moon" film with Ken Jeong & Sandra Oh which was nominated for an Academy Award & Golden Globe Award.  And, the cherry on the cake may be her inclusion in VOGUE Magazine’s “9 best female comedians of all-time’ alongside other comedic icons Joan Rivers, Gilda Radner and Wanda Sykes.

A pioneer amongst women in comedy, Margaret doesn’t take anything for granted as she continues to tackle difficult subjects with sensitivity and her razor sharp insight with her takes on addiction, abuse, activism and Asianness. It's all about the politics of disgust and what is disgusting about politics. Margaret has received many rave reviews for her live shows with the Chicago Tribune saying “Be it on-screen (“30 Rock,” “Drop Dead Diva”) or on stage, Margaret Cho has been one of the most exciting, unpredictable stand-up comics working for some time, and that hasn’t changed. If anything, the Asian-American female comedian’s voice has become more valuable than ever, given today’s social climate, and Cho’s material remains just as compelling, thanks in part to—and sometimes in spite of—her unapologetic delivery.”

Tracks From The Attic

Today Independent Project Records and David J (Bauhaus, Love and Rockets) share news of a West Coast tour in support of the recently announced triple album Tracks From the Attic on digital, CD, colored vinyl LP and Super Deluxe Box Set Art Edition formats out on May 3.

Dubbed An Evening With David J, the tour begins on the album’s release day, Friday May 3, with a one-of-kind event at the Bodecker Foundation in Portland, Oregon titled Enter the Attic: an Evening with David J. This will be a tiered ticketed event featuring an interview and Q&A with David and moderator Jeffrey Clark (Shiva Burlesque/IPR), a two-part live performance (solo acoustic and full band) that will find David J performing from the bottom of the iconic Bodecker skate pool (already seen on the Stephen Colbert Show and known for its incredible acoustics and striking design), plus a screening of music videos and a private viewing of David’s original paintings, some of which are also included in the lush deluxe box set edition of Tracks From the Attic. Ticketed live streaming will be available for 48 hours after the performance to allow fans from all over the world to take part in such a special event. A digital download of the live show will be provided to all in-person and virtual guests after the event. Tickets available here.

Tickets to all shows can be purchased here.  Additional tour dates & further details will be announced soon.

Hand-picked by David himself, the three-LP Tracks From the Attic was originally part of Record Store Day’s RSD Black Friday 2023 and features solo demos recorded on audio-cassette between 1984 and 2004. With Tracks From the Attic, the Bauhaus and Love and Rockets co-founder invites listeners on a most fascinating journey: we’re looking through boxes of tapes, getting reacquainted with an artist we’ve known for a long time - yet, the intimate songs he recorded in solitude over three decades reveal new sides to him. Tracks From the Attic offers a unique experience that gives equal importance to the aural, the visual and the tactile.

A Super Deluxe Box Set Art Edition of only 70 numbered copies is also set for release and is autographed and extremely limited. It comes in translucent natural vinyl and features a new color scheme cover, plus a limited edition David J artwork. What makes each of the Super Deluxe Art Box Sets so unique is the inclusion of actual cassettes from David’s personal home archive, the very ones that were used to compile this career-spanning archival release. This version of Tracks From the Attic is only available from the IPR store. More details here.

"Still Holding On"

Pop-punk duo the Dollyrots have released “Still Holding On" in the US with a brand-new accompanying lyric video. The song is now available on all major streaming platforms.

Stream it here: https://orcd.co/stillholdingondollyrots

In February 2023, the band toured the UK with an exclusive UK-only early release of “Still Holding On” via Wicked Cool Records.

See the video here: https://youtu.be/RZYVFAHDvZE

“Still Holding On” chronicles the current state of the World with Dollyrots style optimism. Kelly explains, “Still Holding On” is a standalone single pulled from our newest recordings, from the first full album sessions since 2019! A hint of the flavor of the upcoming full-length album to be released this Fall. It’s a song about counting on the people you love to get you through the strangeness of modern life. The lyric video features an AI generated version of me, a digital reminder of how off-kilter the Future is becoming”.

In March they released the 7-inch single “Hey Girl”, which was co-produced with Stevie Van Zandt at his Renegade Studios in NYC, with Geoff Sanoff Engineering. The single was released during the band’s “Hey Girl” Spring US tour. The B-Side “I Touch Myself” - a cover of the Divinyls 1990 hit - was co-produced by longtime collaborator John Fields (Jimmy Eat World, All Time Low, Meet Me At the Altar), who is responsible for the bulk of production credit on the upcoming full-length LP due out this fall.

They will be bringing their live party on the road with summer tours planned in both the South and the West Coast with support by friends Don’t Panic and Dog Party. This Fall the band will also embark on a co-headlining run with Tsunami Bomb, including a September 1st pitstop at the 3rd annual Camp Punksylvania Music & Camping Festival at the legendary Circle Drive-In Theater in Pennsylvania. More dates are being confirmed and TBA, with a full list below. Tickets are on sale Monday, May 1st at: http://www.dollyrots.com

The Dollyrots have released albums on Panic Button/Lookout and Blackheart Records and are now working with Stevie Van Zandt’s Wicked Cool Records. They have hit the Billboard Heatseekers chart multiple times, have been featured in movies and television, and have shared stages with some of punk’s biggest names.
