Friday is Halloween! Thus I thought we should Hump Day & Chill to something horror related. While The Rocky Horror Picture Show isn't considered a horror movie, it does lift many elements from said films.

Did you know you can get a lot of wisdom from Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry) straight outta The Rocky Horror Picture Show? 

This gem holds particular resonance with me of late. Been encountering far too many people who know everything except when to STFU!

Makes me wished I carried an ample supply of ball gags with me. But alas that would be too much to carry around on a daily basis.

Today's Monday Motivation comes in the form of dreams. Without dreams life would be a tedious affair. Dreams of what you want from life, or they can just be a flat out fantasy to get you through an otherwise mundane day.

Dreams are essential to our well being. Without them we would be nothing, and vice versa. The Rocky Horror Picture Show's number "Don't Dream It, Be It" has always been a go to source of inspiration. If you seriously have to ask why then you truly do not get the RHPS. 

Push the boundaries of your life and the expectations placed upon you and others and never look back with any regrets. Anything someone else can do you can do as well as long as you believe in your power of you.

This Monday December 10, 2018 be it damn it, don't merely dream it....

Oh, and a gentle reminder, 15 more days until Christmas in case you give a F#ck. How many F#cks do I give about that? Current tally 0 - I'm to busy being it, not dreaming it...

So something magical happened this week. How magical was it you may be wondering??? 

Well if I was a Unicorn I'd wanna be Courtney Hadwin. While I never watch America's Got Talent, thanks to a certain something called Social Media someone I am friends with on Facebook posted her audition for the show. WTF?! She's a mere 14 years old and sings like that? Whoa!

Here are some more thoughts on AGT and such...

So, Tyra Banks is the host of America's Got Talent now. When I saw her on it the song "Sweet Transvestite" from The Rocky Horror Picture Show sprang to the forefront of my mind.

What if Courtney Hadwin, had won AGT? (I heard she didn't) - whatever she got the exposure and will have a fantastic career. 

PS and who are the F#cking F#cks that didn't make her Queen of the F#cking ball?!?!

Magenta of course! Christina Milian is the latest addition to the cast of Rocky Horror Picture Show on Fox. 

She will be proving incest is best, playing Magenta sister to Riff Raff and (this one's for you Karen Castrischer Stegall) Maid! At the castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter.

With an already eclectic cast that includes Laverne Cox as Frank-N-Furter, Victoria Justice as Janet, Ryan McCarten as Brad, Reeve Carney as Riff Raff, Adam Lambert as Eddie and Tim Curry as the Criminologist Narrator.

This version of Rocky Horror is set to be at the very least an interesting ride, whether it fails or not to capture fans of the film and stage production, we'll find out when it airs this fall.

Toucha, Toucha touch me, Victoria Justice will be playing the role of Janet in the FOX remake of Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Knowing nothing more about Justice other than she has starred on Nickelodeon's Victorious. Having never seen the show, this casting choice is one that I hope is a really great surprise. Yep, I love it when actors get a chance to show what else they can do and succeed, so here's hoping playing Janet is the star making opportunity for Justice that it was for Susan Sarandon in the movie before her.

Remember this is 2016 people keep your snarky to yourself! 

The re-do will also star Ryan McCarten (Liv and Maddie) as Brad, Reeve Carney (Penny Dreadful) as Riff Raff. With the unstoppable Laverne Cox from Orange is the New Black as Dr. Frank-N-Furter.

40 Years Of "Rocky Horror"

I could not pass up running this photo from Entertainment Weekly's reunion of The Rocky Horror Picture Show cast forty years later, and still going strong. It's the movie that will never die and how appropriate considering the time of year it is.

By the time I got to see it, at age eighteen when I was able to without a parent or guardian, it was already a cult film on the midnight circuit. With people acting it out in front of the screen and using props at various points throughout it. My favorite thing was throwing the toilet paper rolls and calling out "virgin" at the obvious newbies attending. Something about yelling "virgin" at someone is quite entertaining to me.

Needless to say The Rocky Horror Picture Show shaped a lot of how I view the world around me today, meaning I have a great sense of humor!

With it recently turning the big 40 cast members Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, Meat Loaf and Patricia Quinn reunited for a photo shoot and discussion of the cultural phenomenon.

So raise a glass propose a toast and have some Meat Loaf while you're at it...!

MEAT LOAF GEARS UP FOR FALL TOUR

Although I enjoy Meat Loaf's music - he will always be Eddie from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" to me.

One of Rock's greatest live performers is gearing up for a return to his natural habitat. Meat Loaf – the world-renowned performer whose career has spanned over forty years – has just announced plans for an upcoming fall tour, with the initial dates beginning October 23 at the Pechanga Theatre in Temecula, California. The shows will mark his first extended series of tour dates in 2 years. “As a performing artist, being in front of a live audience is a feeling you can't get with anything else,” he says. “The adrenaline you feel when the fans are singing along with the words to your songs, combined with their loyalty, is an amazing feeling. After all, I didn't start yesterday, and they've been with me every step of the way.” The Dallas native moved to California after college, and quickly formed his first band – named Meat Loaf Soul. He became a much sought-after performer in the Los Angeles area, landing a featuring role in a production of Hair. The exposure that he received from that role led to an audition with Motown, where he was paired up with Shaun Murphy for the duo Stoney & Meatloaf. Together, they tallied one Top-40 hit on the R&B charts (“What You See Is What You Get”), but even more highlights were ahead. Meat Loaf appeared in a stage production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, which later led to his being featured in the film of the same title. In 1977, he released his landmark album Bat Out Of Hell, and his career hit the fast lane. The album sold over 40 million copies worldwide, and led to successful follow-up albums such as Dead Ringer (1981) and Bad Attitude (1984). He earned a Gold single for the 1977 release “Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad,” and achieved his biggest hit with 1992’s "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That),” which topped airplay and sales charts all over the world. The dramatic power ballad earned him a Grammy for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Solo. With a show comprised of the biggest songs from his long list of Gold & Platinum selling albums, Meat Loaf will not disappoint The tour is set to begin 10/23.
