Sparkle Kerry, Sparkle

Shine Bright Like A Diamond
Kerry Washington
Good Morning, it's Saturday, time to sparkle minions! Today's spirit animal is Kerry Washington seen here doing a live stage reading of the Scandal finale in Los Angeles.

"Yes" Scandal is now officially over, yet there is nothing that can keep the unsinkable Ms. Washington from sparkling.

What's that? Did I see the series finale? As a matter of fact I DVR'd it and got around to viewing the farewell show last night. What did I think? First off I am not giving any spoilers because I am sure there are those who have not seen it yet. My overall thought was it was quick, efficient and worked.

Series finales are a tricky thing, you will never please everyone. For me the main reason it played is the fact that the theme of the last two episodes was bringing people into the light and that is exactly what the final episode did.

Into the light today peeps and sparkle like the shining star you are...!

So Long, Farewell..."The Good Wife"

Bye, Bye, Bye
The Good Wife
For those of you who are not fans of The Good Wife, well you missed out. For those of you who are, if you haven't seen the series finale that aired last night yet, stop reading now (spoilers!)

I'm going to go against popular flow and state I actually loved the finale. Although I think there was too much time wasted on Peter's trial that could have been used to give Cary and Diane a little more closure, to me it was the perfect way to close one of the best shows to ever  air on Network TV.

Alicia Florrick is committed, if nothing else to being "The Good Wife." so committed that she burned everything and everyone around her to achieve the goal of helping her husband Peter, while actually becoming him.

A change for the better? Perhaps not, but Alicia has always been an island unto herself and at the end of the show that's the way she ends up transformed and alone. No Peter as she walks away from him while making it clear she wants Jason by calling out his name while doing so.

No Jason he ghosted her in the crowd when Peter resigned and accepted a years probation for his recklessness. Like a ghost he vanished too.

Diane is gone too as Alicia went behind her back and betrayed her by getting fellow lawyer and partner in crime Lucca Quinn to put Diane's husband Kurt through the ringer on the stand in Peter's corruption case to help out her husband.

Will Gardner came back as a ghostly guide of sorts. More like the only shred of conscience Alicia had left. It worked and was fun to see the two of them together again.

Alicia ending up alone was quite fitting. For those of you who thought she should end up with Jason, I felt her having her fun with him was enough as the story was hers. Hey, Alicia Florrick definitely  is one woman who above all else never needed a man.

While I will miss the show, what a great ride!

Unhappy Ending With Lucy Hale

Do I Look Happy?!
Lucy Hale
Pretty Little Liars is back, five years after the torture "A" aka Charlotte DiLaurentis and guess who turned up D-E-A-D in Rosewood? "A" got out of the nut house and someone killed her ass!

Obviously this will be the central mystery (with a lot of sub plots happening) for the seventh and rumor has it, final season of the show.

What did I think you ask? I loved the five year forward jump. It added much needed new life to the show. While I would never abandon my "Liars" the switching things up move proved to be awesome! Kudos to the astute writing.

How will it all end? Out of the mouth of Lucy Hale aka Aria Montgomery comes this bold statement:

"I used to say, oh I want the girls to end up happy and live an A-free life, but I kind of want it to end really tragically," Hale shares. "I want people to be really upset, like they've lost something when the show ends, because I know that my favorite shows have ended that way, so a tragic ending. I'll just leave it at that."

Bingo! I have to get with Lucy on this comment. Cheers to an unhappy series finale!

"Revenge" Series Finale May 10th

I'll Get You My Pretty: Emily VanCamp & Madeline Stowe
What can I saw about Revenge? OK, let me start with this, season one was a quite addicting guilty pleasure. Season two lost it's marbles. Season three was hit and miss and season four was really lame until toward the middle and then went limp again toward the end.

Yet, I continued to watch. I guess it like the old saying about not being able to take your eyes off of a train wreck. Seriously last weeks episode leading up to this Sunday's series finale reminded me of a cartoon quite frankly. Hey I gave it name.

Of course I will be watching this Sunday none-the-less. The thing that kept me watching? I found the characters interesting enough to put up with the over the top cartoon storylines.

It will be interesting to see how the saga ends and who will live or die. Honestly I thought the end of season three would have been the perfect end to the series when Amanda Clarke (Emily VanCamp) successfully had her nemeses Victoria Grayson (Madeline Stowe) committed to a sanitarium.

So Revenge fans it's time for the last hurrah Sunday at 10 pm on ABC.
