The Church Of Chris Pratt

Take Me To Church
Chris Pratt
It's Sunday, and this weeks inspiration comes from The Church of Chris Pratt. Gotta love this hunky, funny, sexy monkey of a guy. I know I do!

He recently took to his Instagram to inspire people out there to keep your dreams alive. Here is what he wrote while filming Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Passengers back to back in Atlanta.

Don't you wish you were Anna Faris?!

"It's 3:20am. I got picked up for work at 6:45am yesterday. I'm not good with math, especially after being up for approximately 61 hours but I think I've been up for over 77 hours. I did a table read for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 this morning and then shot all day on Passengers and just now wrapped some 144 hours later. Weirdly both films, which i'll be shooting back to back, are being shot in Atlanta at Pinewood studios. We have the best crew. Total rock stars busting their asses. And the stuff we're shooting. My God. I can't wait for you to see it. I go back in in about 8 hours to do more. I am doing what I love. It doesn't feel like work. Even though it is. I'm having fun. I'm overcome with joy and gratitude. I felt like posting this to say to anyone out there chasing your dream... Fifteen years ago I felt the same passion I feel today, but I had very little opportunity. I had to hustle hard and go hungry. I had to eat sardines and figure out how to get gas money. And I never had a plan B. I never stopped believing. Ever. Don't give up. Apply constant pressure for as long as it takes. It will break before you do. Go get it."

Preach!

Gucci, Justice Is A Dog's Best Friend

"A Dog Named Gucci" Release (DVD and Digital on April 19th)
To Coincide With the Release Of the Song "One Voice,"
the Closing Credits Track Featuring Various Musicians (Norah Jones, Aimee Mann, Susanna Hoffs, Neko Case, Queen's Brian May, and more)
All Lending Their Talents In The Crusade To Stop Animal Abuse

From burn victim to rock star, the story of one dog who changed
a law and proved justice is a dog's best friend.

Hey all you dog lovers, have you heard the story of Gucci?
Director Gorman Bechard, whose documentary, "Color Me Obsessed, A Film About The Replacements," was named one of "The Seven Best New Music Documentaries of the Year" by Rolling Stone, takes on a rock star of a different sort with "A Dog Named Gucci," a feature-length documentary examining animal abuse laws in the United States.

The film will be released on DVD and digital platforms on April 19th, just days after the Record Store Day release of the film's closing credits song One Voice. The film's anthem song features Norah JonesAimee Mann,Susanna HoffsLydia LovelessNeko CaseKathryn Calder, and Queen's Brian May all lending their talents. One Voice will also be released on digital platforms. Profits from the sales of the song will go to support animal charities around the country.

"A Dog Named Gucci" is a timely and poignant documentary about a 10-week old puppy who was doused with lighter fluid and set on fire. Hearing the puppy's cries, college professor Doug James ran to help. After chasing away the abusers, and at the request of Gucci's young runaway owner, Doug took the puppy in as his own. Thus began a 16-year odyssey of love, devotion, and perseverance. Together with legislators, Doug and Gucci worked to create what became known as the "Gucci Bill," changing Alabama law, and making domestic animal abuse a felony.

"Instead of assaulting the viewer with images of abused animals, we chose to tell what is ultimately a positive and uplifting story of one victim who went on to become a hero," explains Bechard, who was recently named the recipient of this year's Media Excellence Award from the ASPCA for his work on this film. "This is a triumphant tale. Gucci might begin his life as Blackfish, but he's a fighter, and in the end he becomes Rocky."

The film also spotlights three other dogs who, with their owners, have made an incredible impact on the laws protecting animals. These include Louis Vuitton, from Montgomery, Alabama, the first dog to test the Gucci Law; Susie from North Carolina, who has a felony abuse law named in her honor and was the 2015 American Humane Association's Hero Dog of the Year; and Nitro from Queens, New York whose ultimate sacrifice in an Ohio kennel led to the state's first felony animal abuse laws.

The completely crowd-funded film has an extensive social media presence with 68,000 Facebook fans, and tons of followers on Twitter and KickStarter. There have been numerous sold out regional screenings leading to wildly enthusiastic user reviews on IMDb.

Submit! Kim Basinger

I'm Going To Bridle You In And Make You Submit!
Kim Basinger

It has been a while since we have seen Kim Basinger in a high profile film project. Quite frankly I have missed seeing this ageless beauty who still turns heads at 62 on the silver screen.

When the casting people for Fifty Shades Darker, the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey (duh!) were looking to cast "a beautiful older blonde who oozes sex appeal and seduction" as Christian Grey's business partner and former love interest who introduced him to the world of S&M, well who are you gonna call? Kim Basinger!

Translation for all you Fifty Shades fanatics, Kim is playing Elena Lincoln.

Destiny I say. After all Kim played a submissive art dealer in the S&M themed 9 1/2 Weeks to Mickey Rourke's dominant.

Well now she gets to have the upper hand in Fifty Shades Darker.

Take us to your dungeon Mistress Kim

Hey Aisha Tyler, Just Say Not To The Topknot

When Did Pebbles Flintstone Join "The Talk?"

Women now have a hair style to rival the hideous Man Bun which is overwhelmingly reviled among the public yet some men still insist on wearing them. It's called the Topknot, and one of my favorite personalities Aisha Tyler made the poor decision call of sporting this parasitic looking style.

Of course people took to Twitter to voice how much they hated it and for some reason Aisha felt picked on and defended her fashion error.

Aisha went on The Talk stating: “I work on television and I feel very lucky that I get to come here and play and be playful and have fun.” then she went as far to say “If I came out here and I was worried about how you felt about about how I looked every day, then I would be a pretty empty shell of a person.”

Um, Aisha I think you are taking this to heart way to much. I mean the rants said you are "pretty and why would you wear such a thing"

That does not sound like hating or bullying it sounds like caring. Seriously like the Man Bun the Topknot does the person wearing it no favors. No one looks good with it!

I Still love you Aisha at:

Cure The Mid-Week Blahs, Get Some Soul!

Charles Bradley & Menahan Street Band -
Live From The House Of Soul
coming to DVD on February 12th
The first installment of Daptone Records' new video series
Daptone Records, the fiercely independent label that has been delivering the gold standard for real soulful music for over a decade, is launching a video series of performances by its artists recorded live in the backyard of their Bushwick studio headquarters, affectionately known as "The House of Soul". Live from the House of Soul will debut with a full concert by Charles Bradley, followed by episodes from AntibalasMenahan Street BandThe Mystery Lights, and more.

The first installment of Live From The House Of Soul is directed by Poull Brien and shot in the backyard of Daptone's House of Soul in Bushwick, Brooklyn. It features Charles Bradley at his best with the Menahan Street Band

Bradley's voice has evolved from a lifetime of paying dues, having nomadically labored for decades at various day jobs from Maine to Alaska - singing and performing in his spare time - before re-settling in his hometown Brooklyn and eventually finding a musical home at Dunham. In his distinctively rough-hewn timbre, one hears the unmistakable voice of experience - each note and gruff inflection a reflection of his extended, sometimes rocky, personal path. It's only fitting that producer, Brenneck (also amember of The Dap-Kings and The Budos Band), would recognize in Bradley a kindred musical spirit - a singer whose performances exude both raw power and poignant beauty.
This Live From The House Of Soul series gives viewers an intimate look into the legendary stable of Daptone artists performing at home in a unique setting. The series will be completely produced in-house and feature the tough sound that Daptone has become famous for. More episodes are currently in production.

Bradley's upcoming album, Changes, is out April 1st, 2016 on Daptone Records. For more info contact Shazila Mohammed - Shazila (at) MotorMouthMedia (dot) com.

This Live From The House Of Soul -Track Listing:
"Love Bug"
"Where Do We Go From Here?"
"Victim Of Love"
"Confusion"
"The World (Is Going Up In Flames)"
"Crying In The Chapel"
"Strictly Reserved For You"
The DVD also includes bonus music videos for "Where Do We Go From Here?," "Strictly Reserved For You," "The World (Is Going Up In Flames)," and "Heartaches & Pain."

"Spread Your Legs!" Keeping Up With The Kardashians

Where's The Guacamole?!
Khloe Kardashian
"I'm gonna get guacamole up your vagina right now. Spread your legs. Tell her to spread her legs." Kourtney Kardashian to Khloe Kardasian during a food fight involving, duh, guacamole.

OK, while I am not a rabid Kardashian fan, I do admit to being a casual observer. Define that you say? Well each weeks new episode is the soundtrack to my early morning (I wake up at five) work schedule. In other words one of the shows that is great background noise while I am on the computer.

That being stated it's quotes like the above one that keep me coming back for more sound bites. It certainly isn't the "drama" and the staged ways it is dealt with. Also I have to admit I have a special fondness for Khloe Kardashian

Khloe, always the straight shooter is a woman after my own heart. She is the one I know I could hang with and have a blast as we would be on the same page. Below are fifteen Khloe Kuotes that I have selected that sound like things I say and text to my friends & loved ones. Don't you wish you were on my list of contacts now???
1. “I hear the pitter-patter of a dinosaur.” – On hearing mom Kris Jenner’s footsteps approaching.
2. “Wow my sister has changed. She used to whip her boobs out for no reason. Now she does it to feed her child.” – On sister Kourtney Kardashian becoming a mom.
3. "Sometimes a b**ch snaps."
4. "It's haunting me for the rest of my life" – On Kim’s song “Jam.”
5. “Droopy balls? Buy briefs! A bra for your balls!” – Via Twitter.
6. “Your hair is, like, shorter than a vagina’s bush.” – To mom Kris after a haircut.
7. “I could maybe hit it better if they were black balls.” – To Bruce Jenner, on golfing.
8. “I’m Khloe. My sisters say I am a b**ch.”
9. “Hi Satan!” – Addressing mom Kris on the phone.
10. "Are you going to be a boring whore your whole life?" – To one of her sisters.
11. “Sorry, Sir, I curse a lot.”
12. “I have a nipple obsession and personally love when women show their nipples— perhaps I was a member of a nudist colony in my last life.” – On her sheer X-Factor top.
13. "A little bun in the oven. Your ass is gonna be so big." – On Kim’s pregnancy.
14. "I am gonna turn into an alcoholic tonight."
15. "Don’t go into the ocean while on your period because a shark is going to attack you."

Sundance Romance: Ellen Page

Love Birds
Samantha Thomas & Ellen Page
"Hello young lovers, whoever you are,
I hope your troubles are few.
All my good wishes go with you tonight,
I've been in love like you." - The King and I

Sundance is quite the film going experience. It can also be a place where love flourishes, especially when your lover's gone.

Case in point, one Ms. Ellen Page. Despite the fact that her girlfriend, artist Samantha Thomas, was M.I.A. by her side at this year's film festival, apparently things are still rocking and rolling with the couple.

"She's home working," Ellen spilled at her dramedy Tallulah. "I wish she could be here."
Is the Ellen and Samantha train still on track: "Absolutely" Page states.
Page's secret to the long lasting relationship? "She's awesome and we have so much fun together," she said. "We love each other and support each other. It's the best."
Can I get an awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww? Of course I can!

On January 21,  “The Real” is set to launch “Loni’s Laugh Off,” a stand-up comedy competition to find the newest up and coming comedy talent.  “This is close to me, because I started doing stand-up when I was still working as an engineer.  It took a long time before I could quit my day job and make a living off my jokes . So, if you’re out there with a nine-to-five job, spending your nights at open mics, this competition is for you.” Says Loni.

Viewers (18 or older who have never appeared on television doing stand up) have until Friday, February 12 to go to www.TheReal.com  and upload a short video (no more than 3 minutes) of their best comedy routine.  Loni will pick her 3 favorites and then viewers will vote on-line on the 3 finalists with the winner being chosen on “The Real” March 2.  In addition, the grand prize winner will get to open for Loni at one of her LIPSHTICK STAND-UP COMEDY SHOWS at the Venetian in Las Vegas, Nevada.   Lipshtick was the 2015 winner of “Best Comedy Show” by the Las Vegas Review Journal, and has featured comediennes such as Loni, Lisa Lampanelli and Roseanne Barr.

In the ten plus years since she began doing comedy full time, Loni has found her niche on The Real(“It's like a younger, intoxicated version of The View” said Jezebel), as well as regular appearances spinning tunes as the house DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.  Loni also currently co-hosts the Café Mocha radio show cafemocharadio.com with rapper MC Lyte.  They’ve interviewed President Obama and the First Lady as well as superstars like John Legend, Toni Braxton among many others.  Café Mocha is the only nationally syndicated show of its kind that was created exclusively BY and FOR women of color.  You can catch the nationally syndicated show on over 40 stations across the country including SiriusXM Channel 141. Additionally, Loni has guest hosted on Fashion Police and has been a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight and E!  Along with her work on television, Loni is set to co-star on the big screen this spring in director Garry Marshall’s new film, Mother’s Day and can also be seen in several movies, including the successful Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 opposite Kevin James, Soul Plane with Kevin Hart and the Bad Ass franchise with Danny Glover and Danny Trejo.

In addition, Loni is the subject of the documentary “Being Loni Love.  “Being Loni Love” traces Loni’s life story from her early days as a latchkey daughter growing up in Detroit’s Brewster-Douglas housing projects to national stand up comedienne, tv and movie star. “ I was honored when the “Being” producers wanted to hear my story. I want to share my life story to inspire all women that they can become and achieve whatever they want.”  Says Loni.

Making Scientology Seem Sane, "Children of the Stars"

Children Of the Stars
coming to DVD on March 8th

The strange but true story of a UFO contactee group who relive their past lives
on other planets by making their own science fiction films.

"Is that you Mo-Dean?
It's me Mo-Dean
Is that you Mo-Dean?
On a UFO
Is that you Mo-Dean?
It's me Mo-Dean
The interdimensional outer space being"

- Is That You Modean? B-52's

Children of the Stars tells the strange but true story of a UFO contactee group who relive their past lives on other planets by making their own science fiction films.

In 1973, Ruth Norman, a 73 year old widow and self described cosmic visionary purchased 67 acres of land in the mountains east of San Diego, California as a landing site for the Space Brothers, emissaries from the Intergalactic Confederation. Nearly 40 years later, a group of dedicated followers still await their arrival.

                                                                    Trailer

At the Unarius Academy of Science death does not exist, Nicola Tesla was a Space Brother, Satan drove a Cadillac and science fiction is real. To relive their pasts the students film their own sci-fi extravaganzas with the increasingly extravagant Ruth Norman as the star and the lines between fantasy and reality dissolve.

Using spectacular footage from original Unarius films and Hollywood Sci-Fi flicks to illustrate, comment upon, and subvert interviews with the remaining Unarius students,Children of the Stars covers millions of years, hundreds of galaxies and dozens of B movies to present a sympathetic look at faith and how people justify it in different ways.

I made it with my longtime collaborator Garrison Starr and an incredible and inspiring crew of artists. It is my glamorous and glittering tribute to family, comedy, anger, fame, gayness, grief, fat pride, love and hate. “ – Margaret Cho

Back in November, Margaret made her musical performance debut with her band “The Dog Children”on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” with her fan favorite song “Lice.”   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYSfFSvuY58
