Pride Month!

Madonna

Today is the last day of Pride Month let us end it on a high note, so to speak with the one the only Madonna!

The Queen of Pop dropped this iconic line during an interview with Graham Norton. Kylie Minogue was along for the ride as well.

"Maybe We're All Gay"

Needless to say it quickly became a viral meme.

Some food for thought as we usher out the month of Pride.

A friendly reminder the month may be over but Pride is all year long.

Served Cold

Gillian Anderson & Hannah Einbinder

They say revenge is a dish served cold...at least the signage states that things are frosty in this image. Well it looks to me like there is no revenge happening in this photo and it's anything but cold, in fact it's smoking hot!!!

The hot twosome here is one Gillian Anderson and one Hannah Einbinder in a publicity photo for their upcoming sapphic horror yarn Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma directed by indie darling Jane Schoenbrun. The tale was a huge hit at the Cannes Film Festival and hits theaters August 7th.

I'm really excited to see this one and can't wait! In the meantime we'll have to make do with being teased by these sexy photos of the two leads

Sigh...

"Falling Down"

On July 21, Falling Down, a transgressive travelog through post-riots Los Angeles, makes its global debut on 4K UHD. Director Joel Schumacher creates a compelling portrait of an everyday man feeling obsolete in the modern city. The Limited Edition release features a brand new 4K restoration by Arrow Films approved by cinematographer Andrzej Bartkowiak, hours of special features and newly commissioned extras. A Blu-ray edition will also be available.

A frustrated William Foster (Michael Douglas, Fatal Attraction) abandons his car during a morning traffic jam and begins walking toward home, only for the city around him to turn his commute into a volatile odyssey. Along the way, Williams gets more and more angry at a city that’s changing into something that he doesn’t recognize. As Foster’s encounters become increasingly dangerous, LAPD Sergeant Martin Prendergast (Robert Duvall, The Godfather) heads out to arrest him instead of taking it easy on his last day before retirement. Prendergast soon learns why Foster cannot be allowed to make it home. The cast includes Barbara Hershey (Insidious), Rachel Ticotin (Total Recall), Tuesday Weld (Once Upon A Time In America), Frederic Forrest (Apocalypse Now), and Michael Paul Chan (Goonies).

Special features include a 4K (2160p) UHD Blu-ray presentation in Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible); newly restored original lossless stereo 2.0 and DTS-HD MA 4.0 surround audio; optional English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing; an archival audio commentary by director Joel Schumacher, editor Paul Hirsch, actor Michael Douglas and others; a brand new interview with screenwriter Ebbe Roe Smith; a brand new interview with composer James Newton Howard; revisiting the real-life Los Angeles sites used in Falling Down; an archival interview with Michael Douglas; the original trailer; an image gallery; and a collectors’ booklet.

Tell Me Why I Don't Like Mondays...

Adrienne Barbeau & Friend
"The Crate"

Hello Monday...

The look on Adrienne Barbeau's face in the segment "The Crate" from Creepshow a horror anthology Directed by George A Romero circa 1982 illustrates how most people feel about today, Monday.

On a personal note Mondays really don't hold any particular weight with me as a day of the week. But for those of you it does I get why.

Here's what "The Crate" is about:

The Crate: Based on another Stephen King story, this fan-favorite segment follows a timid college professor (Fritz Weaver) who discovers a ravenous, ancient monster trapped inside an old crate beneath the university stairs and uses it to deal with his demanding, abusive wife (Adrienne Barbeau).

Have a great week and be weary of any crates you might come across...

"Some Like It Hot"

Here's a meme of Marilyn Monroe with matching dialogue straight outta one of my favorite films of all time Billy Wilder's Some Like It Hot.

On top of being quite funny Some Like It Hot is also very subversive. Marilyn steals the movie as Sugar Kane a singer and ukulele player in an all girl band.

What could be better than classic Marilyn Monroe on a Saturday? I ask you? I'm waiting...

"Soylent Green"

On July 28, the dystopian science fiction masterpiece Soylent Green makes its global debut on 4K UHD. Director Richard Fleischer (Fantastic Voyage) creates a police thriller set within a desolate future where humanity is bursting at the seams. The Limited Edition release features a brand new 4K restoration from the original 35mm camera negative by Arrow Films, hours of special features and newly commissioned extras. A Blu-ray edition will also be available.

The greenhouse effect has ravaged Earth’s climate, leaving the world eternally hot and crops unable to grow in the year 2022. People survive on Soylent Green crackers manufactured from plankton, while a population explosion has crammed 40 million people into New York City. The poor and downtrodden sleep on staircases and in basements, while the wealthy live in luxury apartments and eat real food, including beef. NYPD Homicide Detective Robert Thorn (Charlton Heston, Planet of the Apes) investigates the murder of a rich man in a secure skyscraper. Police researcher Solomon Roth (Edward G. Robinson, Little Caesar) picks through the clues to uncover a motive for the killing. The cast also includes Leigh Taylor-Young (Jagged Edge), Chuck Connors (Old Yeller), Joseph Cotten (Citizen Kane), and Brock Peters (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home).

Special features include a 4K (2160p) UHD Blu-ray presentation in Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible); original lossless mono audio; optional English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing; an archive audio commentary with director Richard Fleischer and star Leigh Taylor-Young; a brand new audio commentary; archive on-stage interviews with Charlton Heston and Richard Fleischer at the BFI; A Look at the World of Soylent Green; MGM's Tribute to Edward G. Hump Day & Chill

Joan Rivers

Pssst! In case you aren't in the loop June is Pride Month and what better way to celebrate it than a Hump Day & Chill with the late, great Joan Rivers

Joan is seen here celebrating Pride at the Sydney, AU Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras in 2009. She loved and was beloved by the community.

During these challenging times I really miss Ms. Rivers. Her razor sharp wit and pointed humor is something that would be a welcome respite, right here, right now.

Thus let's Hump Day & Chill in memory of Joan Rivers today.

Happy Pride Month!

You Seem Pretty Sad...

Hollywood, CA

Here is a photo I shot of a mural promoting Olivia Rodrigo's latest album "You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love" in Hollywood, CA

So are you enjoying her latest? I know I am.

Olivia is officially the most bad ass Gen Z artist out there to me because of her duet with Robert Smith of The Cure "What's Wrong With Me."

"Went to the doctor and she said I was fine

But every movie that I see makes me cry
It's like somebody put a weight on my chest
I should talk to a friend
But I can't get out of bed
My head is spinning and my stomach is sick
Say I'm in love, so it's hard to admit
I can't eat, I can't sleep
I think you're what's wrong with me"

"Love For Free"

David Archuleta’s evolution as a person and artist are on full display with his latest music offering, “Love For Free” where he taps into the themes of growth through duality.  “Love For Free” finds David getting lost in the upbeat energy of the music while gently shedding the layers of his past that have been brought to light this year with the release of his New York Times bestselling memoir, DEVOUT HERE and embracing who he has become today in 2026.  The release will also feature an additional new track, “Better Than You,” both songs HERE produced by LEVÉ.

“Love For Free” is about knowing your worth, not dealing with games anymore and setting boundaries. You learn and grow, and this is blossoming into someone who realizes they're not messing with other people unless it's time well spent and with people who have the right intentions and value you as a person.  While “Better Than You” is a song about reminiscing. Nostalgia of a beautiful time that once was. It's also acknowledging the delusional way of seeing someone, only highlighting the brighter days and moments, and not the ugly side and toxic dynamic that may have existed. You still can't help but miss whatever it was. Even if it isn't true how you see it in your head vs how it actually was. Says David

LEVÉ shares ““Love For Free” comes from a very real place in David's life, surrounding both family and friendly connections. At its core, it’s all about self-worth and boundaries. It’s a pretty bold way of refining your own standards in any relationship without getting too deep. To me, the song is very fun, and I’m excited to see the energy it brings to David’s catalog.”

Hump Day & Chill

Elizabeth Taylor

"I'd cry my eyes violetElizabeth TaylorTell me for realDo you think it's forever?" - Elizabeth Taylor, Taylor Swift

Here is the one and only Elizabeth Taylor on the set of Cleopatra. When offered the role Ms. Taylor asked for one million dollars to portray the Queen of the Nile. This was an unheard of salary for an actress at the time.

As the story goes she asked for said amount because she thought they wouldn't pay it. Well much to her surprise they did!

Here's what she said about it:  “If someone is dumb enough to offer me a million dollars to make a picture, I’m certainly not dumb enough to turn it down.”

"Gonna Be Alright"

Chaser

Southern California melodic punk band CHASER return with Gonna Be Alright, a new 2-song 7” arriving May 29, 2026. Featuring a reimagined version of Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds” alongside a newly reworked version of the fan-favorite “My Promise,” the release captures the uplifting spirit and emotional sincerity that have become central to the band’s identity.

While the band is still working toward its next full-length album, Gonna Be Alright serves as a special release created to bridge the gap before an extensive summer touring run across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Vinyl copies of the 7” will be available exclusively at CHASER live shows.

“We are so excited to share this release,” the band says. “While we’re not quite ready for a new full-length yet, we wanted to put something really cool out before our tours this summer. These songs came out amazing and we know people are going to sing along with them at the shows.”

The first single, CHASER’s energetic punk interpretation of Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds,” is out now. Built around soaring melodies, driving rhythms, and the band’s trademark emotional urgency, the track preserves the optimism and warmth of the original while giving it a fresh melodic punk energy.

“When my son was born, the first song I sang to him in the hospital was Bob Marley’s ‘Three Little Birds,’” says bassist Jesse Stopnitzky. “So we reimagined it as an upbeat punk rock version, adding our thumbprint while preserving its message of positivity, hope, and unity, which are the ethos of our band and live shows. Built for summer, this high-energy nostalgic singalong is a feel-good reminder that everything’s gonna be alright. It seems we can all use some good vibes right now.”

The second track, “My Promise,” arrives May 29 alongside the official release of the 7”. Originally appearing as an acoustic song on the band’s 2010 album The Big Picture, the song has been transformed into a soaring melodic punk anthem while maintaining its deeply personal core.

“I wrote ‘My Promise’ for my daughter when she was born in 2006,” explains vocalist Mike LeDonne. “It’s a heartfelt song about protecting the ones you love and always being there to guide them through life. Twenty years later, this reimagined melodic punk version captures a new perspective on parenthood. The lyrics and message are as pure today as they were then.”

Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Paul Miner at Buzzbomb Studios in Orange, California, Gonna Be Alright also showcases visually striking artwork from two celebrated artists in the punk scene: Mark De Salvo and Samuel Lucas. Each side of the 7” features completely different artistic styles while remaining connected through themes of hope, light, and positivity.

“We wanted the artwork to feel completely different from each other stylistically, while still capturing the same emotional thread,” says the band.

For “My Promise,” Mark De Salvo created a hand-painted canvas piece using warm colors against a darker palette to reflect the song’s heartfelt emotional weight. Meanwhile, Samuel Lucas brought bright, vibrant tropical imagery to “Three Little Birds,” capturing the uplifting spirit of the song while subtly paying homage to the original music video by depicting the wolf and pig as allies rather than enemies.

Homegrown in the heart of Southern California, CHASER — comprised of Mike LeDonne (vocals), Jesse Stopnitzky (bass/vocals), Bill Hockmuth (guitar), and Davey Guy (drums) — have spent years building a reputation as one of melodic punk’s most positive and emotionally resonant live acts. Since 2018, the band has toured extensively throughout Europe, Canada, and the United States, appearing at major festivals including Brakrock Eco Fest, Music 4 Cancer, Envol Macadam, Jera On Air, Punk Rock Holiday, and Punk In The Park, while completing multiple headline tours overseas.

Known for their uplifting and unifying performances, CHASER continue to connect with audiences across punk, hardcore, metal, and rock through songs rooted in resilience, sincerity, and community spirit.

With Gonna Be Alright, the band delivers exactly what its title promises: a timely reminder of hope, connection, and finding light through music together.
