“I am excited to finally release full Spanish versions of my original music for the very first time.
This is something I’ve been hoping to do since early on in my career and alot more moving forward.
I love it because it’s different getting to sing in Spanish. It brings out a whole new side of me that gets me in touch with my Latin/Honduran roots” says David.
Esteman shared – “When David Archuleta reached out to me about doing a feature on his song, I loved the idea. I had actually heard the song a few months earlier. I was at home in Mexico scrolling through my socials when a clip of the Crème Brulée video popped up on my feed, and it immediately caught my attention. I loved how catchy the song was, and I was really drawn to the fact that it was about a guy who’s comfortable with his orientation, making pop music from such a genuine and authentic place. I felt so connected to that. Who would’ve thought that just a few months later, we’d be singing it together.”
This collaboration marks a meaningful cultural moment, bringing together two artists who have each become powerful voices for authenticity and self-expression in the Latin and global pop scenes. Esteman, widely recognized as one of the leading icons of Latin American alternative pop, has built a career defined by his vibrant aesthetic, genre-blending sound, and unapologetically queer perspective. His participation in “Crème Brulée (Mixes en Español)” not only bridges cultures and languages but also celebrates a shared commitment between both artists to visibility, diversity, and emotional honesty in contemporary pop music.
In other news, David has co-written a new song for the fifth season of the popular Hulu hit series “Only Murders in the Building” that stars Martin Short, Steve Martin and Selena Gomez as an unlikely trio of crime-solvers. The song, called “Wish You Were Me,” appears to be tied to the self-absorbed character Althea (Beanie Feldstein) who also sings on the track here.
