Battle of the Network Stars

Wonder Woman Won!
Lynda Carter

With all the chaos in the world, today has gotten me feeling nostalgic for a simpler time...Thus I bring to you a memory from my youth Battle of the Network Stars.

The show ran on ABC from 1976 - 1988, it aired biannually and pitted celebrities from the big three networks against one another in track and field type of games.

Lynda Carter aka Wonder Woman pictured above was on a team with Farrah Fawcett, Penny Marshall & Ron Howard.

Their team won the inaugural games, and Carter won the swimming relay as well.

Seriously though, did you expect a team with Wonder Woman and one of Charlie's Angels to lose? I thought not!

Tunesday Tuesday!

It's A Flock, Not A Gaggle
A Flock Of Seagulls
Remember the 80's and the New Wave movement in music? "Yes" I was there in the thick of it, I was in High School after all.

Do you recall the most famous seagulls of all A Flock Of Seagulls? Well their biggest hit I Ran, not to be confused with Iran, has been, well, running through my mind of late.

"I walk along the avenue, I never thought I'd meet a girl like you, Meet a girl like you"

Fa la la la la...

Thus I bequeath those who will find this nostalgic, and those who will be going Hmmmmmmm with this classic 80's type of ditty.

That's correct I said "ditty" because it rhymes with, kitty!

Gotcha!

Run with Seagulls after the jump!

Nostalgia's For Geeks

Edward vs Courtney
Edward Norton & Courtney Love
Memory is a powerful thing. It can trigger many emotions, and all of them are fine. I was brought back to a time I remember fondly today, the 90's - it was a Golden Era, for me at least. Movies were great and I actually wanted to see them. Music rocked and I actually wanted to listen to it.

So imagine my my 90's pop culture shock and awe when Courtney Love (yes, I was a big Hole fan. OK insert a dirty joke if you must) and Edward Norton, the it boy of that time. Who starred together in one of the better films of the 90's The People vs Larry Flynt became a couple. Imagine it at the time, do it and do it now!!!

"Yep" I was in a whole lotta 90's fantasia! The Grunge Queen of the 90's paired up with the Actor of the time, damn it does not get any better then this!

I miss that time in my life, in a nostalgic sort of way. But I am at my personal best right here, right now.

OK, time to be present and carry on minions, but always be, be, be nostalgic!

Hey Pig, Happy New Year!

When Pigs Talk
Babe
Today marks the Chinese New Year and guess what? It is the year of the pig...oink! I am the year of the snake, make of that what you will. But today it's time to get piggy with it!

Of course my horse there is always a pig that makes me nostalgic Babe. I remember being extremely reluctant to view a movie about a talking pig despite it's critical acclaim. But eventually I caved and did it. As in watched it.

With a mighty "baa ram ewe" I loved it! "Yes" the talking pig made me eat trough.

Thus in honor of this piggy year I wanted to tip my _____ the blank is yours to fill in and fantasize as you wish. To the ultimate pig...I've got you Babe

Bye, Bye,Bye

That Time When...
NSYNC, Ellen DeGeneres & Carson Daly
When boy band NSYNC disbanded in 2002, I never thought we would hear from them again collectively as a group, individually, of course, but as a whole unit?!

Just when you thought it was safe to walk down Hollywood Blvd. NSYNC got their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, yesterday, April 30th 2018. Hence me titling this entry "Bye, Bye, Bye" because it is the only song by the boys that I can recall.

"No" I was not one of their fans. Seriously I don't think I am the target audience for a boy band, not being a teenage girl.

But, when I saw this image of them with Ellen DeGeneres & Carson Daly in tow...WTF?! It made me nostalgic for a simpler, sillier time in the history of the world. "Yes" sometimes I have odd triggers.

So let's kick off this first of May, or May Day as it were with some good vibes. You know you want them.

Back In Time: Lindsay Lohan

Memories
Lindsay Lohan
Since it's always manic on Monday I thought I would share a Sunday fun day nostalgic blast from the past. I present to you Lindsay Lohan visiting her London home from the Disney classic film The Parent Trap.

For the uninitiated Lindsay had game playing twins Hallie Parker and Annie JamesHallie lived in Napa, CA., with her father Nick Parker (Dennis Quaid).  Annie resided with her mom Elizabeth James (the late Natasha Richardson) in London.

Yes, two adorable little Lindsay's in one crowd pleasing movie. She did what is all the rage these days and took to her Instagram and posted said  photo with the caption:

"A trip down memory lane #sundayfunday, #theparenttrapmovie Annie's house but it was number 7 in the movie."

Awwwwwwwwwwww...Happy Monday and have a Terrific Week
