One, Two, He's Coming For You...Wes Craven

The Man of Your Nightmares
Wes Craven
"The first monster you have to scare the audience with is yourself" - Wes Craven

One of my favorite filmmakers, Wes Craven has passed away. He directed Meryl Streep in her Oscar Nominated role in Music of the Heart and one of my favorite popcorn thrillers Red Eye with Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy.

However he will always be known for his works of horror, most notably the high profile Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream films.

I remember when both came out. Each was heralded as contributing something unique to the horror genre.

Scream with it's unique blend of wit and scares revived horror movies at a time when the genre was pretty much dead.

As a huge horror fan I thought I had seen it all, but nothing could have prepared me for the opening scene of Drew Barrymore being stalked and ultimately murdered. It was truly frightening on every level you could imagine, her dying merely feet away from her parents gasping for air and trying to get their attention will stay with me forever!

A Nightmare on Elm Street was notorious for making people afraid to dream. It truly was the stuff sweet dreams aren't made of.

R.I.P.

"Boo, You Whore!" Mean Girls 10 Years Later

10 Years Later: L - R Lacey Charbet, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried
Lindsay Lohan & Tina Fey

Regina George: I gave him everything... I was half a virgin when I met him!

Yes as all of us Mean Girls fans know the movie is officially 10 years old. "That's so fetch" - hey I am still trying to make that happen for you Gretchen Wieners and guess what? It still hasn't. Sorry I tried.

Mean Girls is a cultural phenomena, and every October the 3rd, when I get asked what day it is I give a swoon to the person posing the question in honor of Aaron Samuels

Recently Entertainment Weekly got the stars of the film: Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Charbet & it's creator Tina Fey together for a reunion photo shoot and interview.

In it they posed the question to each of the "girls" where they thought their character would be in the 10 years post High School, as in right now.

Here are their answers. Enjoy, while I work on my Burn Book, I'm so "plastic."

THE FUTURE
SEYFRIED: Karen would manage or own a store that sells really cool dog attire, like Swarovski dog collars and Halloween costumes for animals. She’s probably really focused.
LOHAN: Cady’s with Oprah in Africa working at children’s schools with a family, teaching girls to be nice to each other.
CHABERT: Gretchen is probably running the Toaster Strudel empire. She is probably married and has, like, seven babies right now. She and Jason worked it out. She has very big curly hair.
McADAMS: Regina is a Real Housewife. She’d have too much time on her hands, for sure. She’s probably found all her other Reginas.

Called Out! Rachel McAdams Is A Class Act

Keeping It Real: Rachel McAdams

Although they have had wildly different careers - Rachel McAdams proves what I have always suspected about her, she is a class act.

When the subject of her Mean Girls co-star, Lindsay Lohan came up in a recent chat she spills that she was in fact "in awe" of her.

Ms. McAdams told Allure Magazine  for their August issue that she was impressed by Lohan's natural ability. "I looked at her as this experienced actor, and she had great comedic timing, so natural. It's just funny to hear that because you never know what people are thinking. We all try to act like we've got it together."

As far as her own career? McAdams is looking forward to a roller coaster ride. "I'm hoping it's going to be complicated and have lots of dead ends and corners and sharp turns. I hope it can't be summed up too easily when I'm done."

Love it! Thanks Rachel when asked about working with someone you kept it real and didn't dish. You also let everyone know that nobody's ride is smooth in the world of show biz no matter what public perception is...Signed, A Fan For Life!
