It's time again for some Cho Bloating, Yaaaas Qween!

Five time Grammy & Emmy nominated comedian Margaret Cho has much to celebrate as she was recently named one of Rolling Stone magazine’s 50 Best Stand-Up Comics of All Time http://www.rollingstone.com/culture/lists/50-best-stand-up-comics-of-all-time-w464199?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=021417_16&utm_content=daily and is set to launch what is sure to be her sickest stand-up comedy show to date this fall. 

A pioneer amongst women in comedy, Margaret doesn’t take anything for granted as she continues to tackle difficult subjects with sensitivity and her razor sharp insight with her takes on addiction, abuse, activism and Asianness. It's all about the politics of disgust and what is disgusting about politics. Aptly titled, “Fresh Off The Bloat,” Margaret says:

“Fresh Off The Bloat” is my sickest show to date.  My grandmother said "You look like bloated as if you've been found dead in a lake after several days of searching." Koreans are the most savage of all the Asians. My new show is all about being fresh off drugs and drinking and suicide and coming back to life - finally fished out of the river Styx. It's meta. It's magical. It's me.”

Margaret’s new TV project Highland has been picked up for pilot by TNT Network. Highland will chronicle what happens when two extended, dysfunctional Korean-American families who share the same patriarch must come together after tragedy strikes. As it turns out, the most reliable person in both families is the one who just got out of rehab.

"Executive producer Liz Sarnoff (Lost,Barry) and Margaret Cho's brilliant script exposes Margaret's warm heart and bracing humor, balancing powerful emotional truths with laugh-out-loud scenes and characters," said Sarah Aubrey, executive vice president of original programming for TNT. "Highland continues TNT's commitment to bringing diverse voices and worlds to television. We look forward to making a pilot with such a singular talent as Margaret Cho.”

2016 is the year of keeping it real. So who better to do that with than Margaret Cho?

Three time Grammy and Emmy nominee, comedian Margaret Cho has been named special co-host of E!’s comedy favorite “Fashion Police.”  “Fashion Police” will cover the biggest award shows of the 2016 season beginning Monday, January 11 with the 73^rd Annual Golden Globe Awards special.

Although I am not quite a fashionista, I would love to look at it like I am changing it up - Fashion Police: Special Victims Unit. Margaret is also set to host the “New Now Next Honors” on the Logo Network February 1.  From the slopes of Aspen Gay Ski Week, “New Now Next Honors” is a celebration of what’s hot and, more importantly, what’s going to be in the year to come. 

Speaking of the year to come, Margaret has signed a development deal with Amazon for her marijuana-themed family dramedy titled “Highland.”  The hour long project follows Cho, who after court-ordered rehab gets a chance to start over, but has to move in with her dysfunctional family who now run a pot dispensary.  Co-produced by Tomorrow Studios and Amazon Studios, “Highland” was created by Margaret Cho and writer Liz Sarnoff (“Deadwood,” “Lost,” “Alcatraz.”).  Cho is also attached to star and exec. produce, along with Becky Clements and Marty Adelstein of  Tomorrow Studios.

In addition, you can catch Margaret  on  “Real Time with Bill Maher”  Friday, February 12.  

Margaret will also continue to tour with her ever evolving stand-up comedy show throughout 2016.  She will continue to tackle difficult subjects with sensitivity and razor sharp insight. A pioneer amongst women in comedy, Margaret doesn’t take anything for granted. “It’s a wonderful thing to be known as a ‘safe haven’ for people who feel disenfranchised. The audience at my shows don’t necessarily consider themselves traditional comedy fans. I seem to be a secure alternative for people who don’t think they’re being represented in society. They come because my point of view satisfies a lot of what needs to be said out there, and that makes me really proud.”
