It's the first Friday of Spooky Season and I thought this signature line from Dana Carvey as The Church Lady straight outta SNL fit the Current Mood of the day.

Well now isn't that special? Of course it is, because during this most wonderful time of the year when anything goes you have to ask yourself "Could it be Satan?!" because you know deep in the darkest regions of your soul it could very well be the Prince of Darkness.

Ya know something I believe I am simply going to leave you with this sentiment and send you off on your demonic ways Minions.

It's my first column of Spooky Season, the most wonderful and my favorite time of the year!!! This is me using a photo I took one year at Knott's Scary Farm of an Evil Clown on a maze called a Dark Ride as background.

There was a plethora of strobe lights going on and I was disoriented and could not find my way out so I held my phone up and took the photo of the Evil Clown and asked him how to get the F#ck out of the meat locker, naturally...that's so me!

There's some horrors in this house, "Yes" really!!!

Near Dark

It's Scary Season, you know what that means? Time to Hump Day & Chill to one of my favorite vampire movies Kathryn Bigelow's Near Dark!

Here's how the story goes:

Cowboy Caleb Colton (Adrian Pasdar) meets gorgeous Mae (Jenny Wright) at a bar, and the two have an immediate attraction. But when Mae turns out to be a vampire and bites Caleb on the neck, their relationship gets complicated. Wracked with a craving for human blood, Caleb is forced to leave his family and ride with Mae and her gang of vampires, including the evil Severen. Along the way Caleb must decide between his new love of Mae and the love of his family.

"Yes" it's as good as it sounds and then some. I hate to give away any more than this synopsis, but suffice it to say this is a unique one of a kind vampire movie that takes you on a journey that is anything but boring.

RICK CASTRO FOREVER: Photographic Retrospective of Life & Death

Exhibition from renowned photographer and Los Angeles native, Rick Castro in the historic Columbarium.

Starting on October 6th running through November 30th, the exhibition at Hollywood Forever will display 87 of Rick Castro’s most captivating photographs from 1986 through 2022, curated by Hollywood Forever’s President Tyler Cassity.

The 87 works feature mask wearing as well as portraits of different figures related to Hollywood Forever (including trans residents – The Goddess Bunny AKA Sandi Crisp and Holly Woodlawn, images from Hollywood Cemetery circa 1990, Gore Vidal, (is not a resident) as well as intimate photographic portraits of Rick’s family members over time.

The free and open to the public exhibition will reflect themes of love, melancholy, meditation and remembrance with inclusions of masks images as an offering for Día de Los Muertos.

Monday Motivation

Alice In Wonderland

Here we go some Monday Motivation wisdom straight outta the rabbit hole from Alice In Wonderland.

Not sure if this one is really motivating in terms of what it says, but it is more in terms of accepting it as the truth.

Different things happen to us every day. Thus how could we possibly go back to yesterday because it is those things that propel us forward and change us. Now the changes could be for better or worse. The choice is yours, it's all in how you process those things. "Yes" the non-tangible, mystic things that you can't see, yet they affect you on a deep level.

So my take is approach each day with open arms and an outlook of acceptance and allow them entrance and bridle these experiences in and make them submit, you decide how they affect and work for you not the vice versa.

Got it? Now get out there and slay Minions!!!

Why is that you ask??? Because it's Spooky Season starting with the today, the first and climaxing on the 31st with Halloween! Hey, it's always Halloween in my soul.

In case you are not familiar with, nor read Attitude Magazine well Gus Kenworthy decided to reveal what a horny guy he is. Don't believe me, here is the quote from the interview he did with them:

“In terms of being viewed as sexual, I don’t care. I’m flattered and fine with it. I’m a very, very sexual person and I’m very open about it.”

Oh the mind does wonder what specific kinds of activity this does cover. "Yes" it's obviously sexual, but I want specifics, sexual covers a lot of territory.
