"I'm Sick Of Your Lip" Jillian Barberie

Ouch!
Jillian Barberie
Jillian Barberie is one of my favorite people. She was generous enough to grant me an interview when she was hosting Good Day LA and I was just starting my writing career. So off I trotted to the GDLA green room at FOX she walked in and couldn't have been more gracious.

Sadly she is no longer on the local morning talk show, and needless to say I have stopped watching. But I have kept up with Jillian on Facebook and Twitter, naturally.

For those of you who may be unfamiliar with this dynamo here is her intro quote from her Facebook page:

"No hair extensions & my boobs are real. Take THAT LA! Oh & I'm in lotsa TV, movies & stuff."

Recently she lost a chunk of her lip to a Cocker Spaniel, and needed 10 stitches to fix the gash...Yikes!

Jillian, ever the animal lover and animal rights activist had this to say about it:

"Well, Last night (this morning) my friends dog took a big chunk out of my lip. 10 stitches later...Oh my beautiful face! It has been ruined!! LOL (kidding)

Surgeon said I'll be fine. I have other puncture wounds I didn't know I had because Doctor gave me something called Norco.

BTW: The dog wasn't being aggressive. As you know, I am a dog lover and took the risk. He had just lost his best friend last week, I was holding him and CRUNCH! There goes my beautiful, glamorous, sultry pouty lip! Too much I love you. LOL. Really, I'm gonna be fine."

Word on the Internet is that Jillian's sultry pouty lip is ready for it's comeback!

Pimping Disney? Ariana Grande

Paid Shill, or Bad Hairstyle Choice?
Ariana Grands
Is Ariana Grande on the Disney payroll?! That can be the only explanation for her questionable hairstyle. "Yes" in the tradition of the repellent man bun trend, Ariana is sporting mini bobs. Which, depending on your perspective either look like Minnie Mouse ears or an ode to Princess Leia from Star Wars.

Both interpretations prove there may be a conspiracy going on and Disney is paying her to wear them since Minnie and Star Wars are both property of the House of Mouse.

Ariana Grande undercover Disney Pimp, think about it...why the Hell else would her boyfriend Ricky Alvarez be seen in public with her looking this goofy?

The truth is out there, really it is.

Say Hello To Wonder Woman

Wonder No More!
Gal Gadot
With all the hype surrounding the opening of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice this Friday you would have to be living in your own private Idaho not to know that piece of trivia.

Me? I am 100% sure I will survive without going to see it. Having put it out there, one minor point of interest for me about the film is the first big screen appearance of Wonder Woman.

Yes, I was a fan of the TV Series with Lynda Carter when I was young, meaning I am now old. It was campy fun!

The take on WW in Batman v Superman judging from the trailer is decidedly more serious in tone. It's also providing the set up for the Amazonian Princess to headline her own movie. Now that is something I would haul my ass to a theater to go see.

Gal Gadot, the actress portraying WW had this to say about it in Los Angeles at a recent press conference:  "So I am so happy to be the one who is going to tell the Wonder Woman story. It is such an important story to tell. It is so important for girls and boys to have a female, strong, super hero to look up to. The more the merrier and there is plenty of room for many more women to come and I am very happy to be a part of it."

Since I am sitting Batman v Superman out, see you when the Wonder Woman movie hits the silver screen Gal!

Dame Judi Dench recently appeared on the popular British radio show Desert Island Discs (the longest-running programme on the BBC) selecting her eight favourite records. Among them she chose her brother Jeffery Dench's recital of Sonnet 18 - 'Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?' - from "Exits And Entrances", with the familiar line, 'thy eternal summer shall not fade',  lent extra poignancy by the fact that Stratford resident Jeffery passed away last year. Dame Judi's commitment to the project is underlined by the fact that she has made herself available for phone interviews with US media to support the release.

Hillary Clinton's Latest "Scandal"

I'm With Her
Kerry Washington & Hillary Clinton
Hillary Clinton recently visited the imaginary Oval Office on the set of Scandal. Too bad we did not get any indication of how she thought it compared to the real deal.

As the story goes, Clinton, knew the cast was trying to make a fundraiser for her, but was aware they would not finish work in time. So, what's a Presidential candidate to do? Why make a detour to the set on the way to her event, naturally.

The episode was being Directed by show star, Scott Foley when the former Secretary of State paid a visit.

Cast member Katie Lowes has this to say about Hillary's visit on set: "Mind blown! It was amazing"

The Women of Scandal recently made headlines for endorsing Clinton in a television commercial.

Now that's putting your money where your mouth is! You can make anything a Scandal in this day and age.

Do You Remember "Trio?" You Are Old.

One Awesome Menage

DOLLY PARTON, LINDA RONSTADT, AND EMMYLOU HARRIS:
THE COMPLETE TRIO COLLECTION

Both Legendary Albums Recorded By The Female Country Holy Trinity
Newly Remastered For Three-Disc Set Packed With Rare And Unreleased Music

Three Different Versions Will Be Released On September 9 From Rhino

"Yes" I remember them too, can I join the AARP now?

Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, and Emmylou Harris have three careers unparalleled in music history. Together they have sold over 200 million albums worldwide and performed for decades in front of countless fans around the globe. It’s no surprise that when their three voices united to release their debut collaboration, the results were remarkable. The threesome released two albums together, Trio (1987) and Trio II(1999), which have combined to sell more than five million copies worldwide and win three Grammy® Awards.

Both of these classic albums have been newly remastered for a three-CD collection packed with rare and unreleased music. Produced by Harris, THE COMPLETE TRIO COLLECTION will be available on September 9 for a list price of $29.98.

On the same date, a single-disc set will also be available entitled MY DEAR COMPANION: SELECTIONS FROM THE TRIO COLLECTION, featuring a mix of songs taken from the three-disc set, as will FARTHER ALONG, a double-LP set of all the bonus material from THE COMPLETE TRIO COLLECTION. Trio II will also be released on vinyl for the first time.

Even though Parton, Ronstadt, and Harris began recording together in the 1970s, a full album proved elusive. When the stars aligned and the friends were finally able to record a full album, a powerhouse sound of country and Americana was born. The results were remarkable. Trio arrived in 1987; sold more than four million copies; won two Grammy Awards; and topped the country album chart for five consecutive weeks. Among the standout tracks are “To Know Him Is to Love Him,” “Wildflowers,” and “Farther Along.”

It would be more than a decade before the group released a follow-up, but when Trio II arrived in 1999 it did not disappoint. The album won a Grammy Award and peaked in the Top Five of the country album chart. It sold more than one million copies worldwide on the strength of tracks like “Do I Ever Cross Your Mind?” the Carter family’s “Lover’s Return” and a cover of Neil Young’s “After The Gold Rush.”

The bonus disc is loaded with 20 songs, including alternate takes of album tracks like “I’ve Had Enough,” “Making Plans” and “My Dear Companion.” Also featured are 11 completely unreleased recordings from the trio spanning both album sessions including “Waltz Across Texas Tonight,” “Pleasant As May,” “Are You Tired of Me,” and the gospel standard “Softly And Tenderly.” Among the unreleased material is also an alternate version of “Do I Ever Cross Your Mind?” featuring Parton on lead vocals and a stunning acapella version of “Calling All My Children Home.”

Son Of A Preacher Man

Preaching: Just Say No
Tom Goss

Remember the classic tune, Son of a Preacher Man by the legendary Dusty Springfield? Well the song has just been turned on it's ass by singer/songwriter/actor/activist and all around cool guy Tom Goss.

The out, bear loving artist has given the familiar staple a powerful gay twist.

"A lot of gay men and women have been condemned by religious institutions. Our goal was to speak to that experience and show how destructive it can be.

We hope that this video reaches people, helps heal people, educates people and provides an outlet to help promote those who are doing so much to curb the pain.

Notably organizations like The Trevor Project and PFLAG."  States Goss

So without further fanfare stop, look and listen to his awesome take on an old hit!
