Hello December...

Ho, ho, ho it's December 1st 2023 Minions. That means it's a scant 24 days until Christmas and today being the first is World AIDS Day.

To kick off my Birthday month (it's the 18th in case you were wondering) I thought that I would post this meme with John Hamm and Sharon Stone that sums up my feelings heading into 2024.

Hey, it's my new mantra, in fact I meditated this morning and chanted it in my head whilst doing so.

Basically it's a clever way of stating we are all going to get in our own way from time to time. Where's the lie? I ask you, as usual I'm waiting for you to answer (sigh)

Thus on these notes, let us welcome December with open arms and legs.

World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day
Annie Lennox

It's World AIDS Day today - this is to remember as well as search for a cure. While having HIV does not mean you will contract AIDS and people on medication can live healthy lives thanks to Western Medicine. There are many parts of the world that isn't true.

This day is to remember and never forget those who came before us and were ravaged by the disease and did not have the scientific advances we have today. It is also to know that in some countries it is still and epidemic.

Thus I bring you one if my favorite Divas & Activists Ms. Annie Lennox who works tirelessly to find a cure. Hit the video for he song Sing below that addresses it.

Remember everyone is going through something, try to be kind to one another...

World AIDS Day

Today is World AIDS Day - while I have no eloquent way to address this subject I wanted to honor this day and the people whose lives have been affected by this.

We are living in questionable times so I choose to celebrate humanity in the form of Harvey Milk's inspiring speech Give Them Hope.

It is simple, yet amazing, and most important right here, right now in this particular time in history, uplifting.

I can't believe it is December 1st 2018 already! Make today great!

Michael's Musings

Look Ma I'm On Top Of Graffiti!
Michael Shinafelt
Hey y'all it's December 1st let's have a hootananny! Wrong time of year, is there really a correct time for that? It's on, the countdown to Christmas and my Birthday has begun!

Yo, I am a Christmas baby born exactly one week before, December 18th to be exact for those of you who suck at math, like me. Unlike Monty Python's Life of Brian I was however, never mistaken for the messiah...wait I recant, I have heard "Oh Jesus" many times before. Let's get December started, shall we?

Damn it! I want an invite to Martha and Snoops Potluck Dinner Party, ASAP!

And this line is your path...don't question me.

If you don't fit in, you are doing the right thing.

Guilty Confession: I love the Mistle-Tones with Tori Spelling & Tia Mowry and watch it every Christmas season.

I regret nothing. NOTHING!

Last year I turned 50 on my Birthday, can you guess how old I will be this year?

Not only is it December 1st it's also World AIDS Day.

So, Disney is making a Star Wars related movie a year. The newest one opens 2 days before my Birthday, bad decision, it will become stale as fruit cake. PS I didn't see the last one either.

Remember my Birthday, I am on the downhill slope to 60 and I deserve your respect!

World AIDS Day

"Science has brought the world to the point where the end of AIDS – though not necessarily HIV – is in sight" according to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
And, she added, "It is science that will allow us to finish this job."
The job, she has famously said, is to create an "AIDS-free generation" – something that once seemed like a pipe dream and now, after more than 30 years, seems increasingly possible.
This statement was made just yesterday by my President - Ms. Hilary Clinton, in honor of World AIDS Day December 1, 2012.
In honor of today I am posting an amazing video that was and still is way ahead of it's time and is inclusive of everyone AIDS has touched.
Neneh Cherry's brilliant cover of "I've Got You Under My Skin" by Cole Porter off of the first of it's kind CD to benefit AIDS "Red Hot + Blue"
"No knowledge of the facts, kept in the dark, Scolds my soul and it hurts my heart, the young and elderly just running blind, Hurts so bad they denied their own kind, Papa turned around and said that ain't mine, It just made it hard for life on the line, and it's a shame to see a little child mature, Growing up knowing that there ain't no cure" Neneh Cherry "I've Got You Under My Skin" Red Hot + Blue
