"Anarchy" On Courtney Love's 50th Birthday

Can You Feel The Courtney Love Tonight?
Courtney Love recently celebrated her 50th Birthday, HBD to you! My how time flies!

I remember having her dive into the mosh pit of The Palladium in Hollywood on top of me and my friend Brittney like it was, yesterday, and meeting her backstage after the show was pretty amazing.

So for her 50th what do you think Ms. Love does? She indulges in some anarchy Sons of Anarchy that is.

Yes, one of the ways Courtney is celebrating the big 5-0 is appearing in a multi-episode arc as Ms. Harrison -- the pre-school teacher of Jax's (Charlie Hunnam) eldest son Abel. Her character reportedly takes a special interest in Abel, which will likely catch the attention of the boy's mother, Wendy (Drea de Matteo).

She will debut in episode four of the seventh and final season of the show.

It's been too long since CL has acted, she was brilliant in The People Vs. Larry Flynt, and she won a Golden Globe Nomination for it, but not an Oscar nomination, she was snubbed in my opinion.

Salute Courtney! Hope this is a great year for you! I will be watching SOA this season, oh yes I will...

Need some love?

D-E-V-O

We Are Men, D-E-V-O
DEVO The Men Who Make The Music / Butch Devo & The Sundance Gig

available on DVD and Digital Formats on August 12

Classic DEVO live in 1978-79, philosophy, and more!

Are we not men? Yeah Devo was one of my favorite New Wave 80's groups, from the wonderfully subversive S&M ditty "Whip It" to the perverted voyeurism song about masturbation "Peek-A-Boo" here for your flashback pleasure is more DEVO, no one can ever get enough of that noise!

The Men Who Make the Music combines concert footage from DEVO's 1978 tour with music videos and interstitials featuring a vague story about DEVO's rocky relationship with "Big Entertainment."

As for the bonus program, Butch Devo and the Sundance Gig, Jerry Casale says, "In January of '96, we closed Sundance Film Festival. We wore 20s style prison suits and dished out classic DEVO songs to an unsuspecting audience of Hollywood elite."

Take a look at my favorite Devo song Peek-A-Boo...

                                                           Peek-A-Boo: I Can See You

"So put your hands on your face
And cover up your eyes
Don't look until I signal"... Peek-A-Boo, Devo

They Are "Such Good People"

We're Here, We're Good, Get Used To It: Randy Harrison & Michael Urie

"So we're different colors, And we're different creeds, And different people have different needs" - People Are People Depeche Mode

The above mentioned phrase is the best way in my opinion to surmise the funny and charming indie flick Such Good People

Starring some really good people themselves Michael Urie (Ugly Betty) as Richard Nearly and Randy Harrison (Queer As Folk) as Alex Reardon a gay couple, that's right you heard me, a gaaaaaaaay couple as the central characters of this screwball comedy.

Referring back to the Depeche Mode quote the two leads happen to be gay, them being gay is not the focus of the story and there are plenty of other characters who are not gay in the film, which is a regular melting pot of "different colors, creeds and needs."

Including Lance Bass, who was sporting blue hair at the premiere I attended in Westwood, CA, yeah I know I should have gotten a photo of that.
Feeling Blue Lance?
Luckily there is Google and I did a search and found a shot, although it is not from the premiere it is of Mr. Bass with said hair color, feast your eyes, people.

The cast also includes Carrie Wiita & James Urbaniak as Alex's conniving half sister and brother in-law Dr. Paige & Cooper Whitehead, Ph.D

Not to mention the fabulous Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty, Devious Maids) as Detective Diane Kershman. A word of caution don't F#@k with the porpoises when she is on the case.
Ana Ortiz Is On The Case
With an astute screenplay by David Michael Barrett based on a story by him and Greg Sterling.

This SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Ultra Low Budget film is one of the best examples of making movies with a shoestring amount of cash I have ever seen.

A tip and a nod to the Director, Stewart Wade for his adept insight, and keeping it real.

Such Good People is Such A Good Movie, seek it out like a missile on video.

Too Darn Hot: Joe Manganiello & Sofia Vergara

Hotter Than Georgia Asphalt: Joe Manganiello & Sofia Vergara

"But when the thermometer goes way up,

And the weather is sizzling hot Mr Pants, for romance, is not"

- Too Darn Hot, Cole Porter

It's seems that America's favorite deceased Werewolf  True Blood's Joe Manganiello and Colombian spitfire Sofia Vergara of Modern Family are dating.

From the sounds of things they met at a White House correspondence dinner and are now one of the hottest couples to ever walk the planet.

Oh Yeah! Wow, this is a match made in publicist heaven.

Best Wishes to the both of you.

Entertain Me.

True Blood: R.I.P. Alcide

Joe Manganiello as Alcide
Yes, True Blood fans our favorite Werewolf hunk, Alcide met his demise in last night's episode of the series final season.

Were any of you shocked? I for one wasn't, after Tara met the true death in the season premiere and knowing this is the last season my instinct immediately kicked in and said to me: They are going to be killing off a lot of characters this year.

Mark my words this is not the end of other loved characters dying...

Let's face it even though Alcide was a real stand up Werewolf sort of guy and great eye candy, he really was not necessary to the story line.

Joe Manganiello who played the too cool for school Alcide had this to say about his character's death:

I called it pretty early on. As soon as Sookie and Alcide got together, I remember turning to a friend and saying, “I’m dead.” You can’t go anywhere from that; she needs to settle up with Bill and Eric. You can’t have her break Alcide’s heart, because then the audience is going to be angry with her for breaking the nice guy’s heart. I told my friend, “I bet you everything I own that I’m dead.” The other side of it is, if you look at all the other characters, Alcide no longer has anything to do with the story. If you talk about characters that you could kill and make an impact with, I was probably No. 1 on that list. Why would you keep me around? All Alcide ever did was get in the way. I had dinner with [showrunner] Brian Buckner and he cited all the same reasons I just told you.

Bye Alcide you will be missed.

Fact: Helen Mirren Is Hot!!!

Helen Mirren Promoting Her Saturday Night Live Appearance, Hot!
When I was a freshman in High School, my dear deceased Dad took me to see Excalibur, one of the best tellings of King Arthur to ever hit the silver screen aside from crushing on Nicholas Clay as Lancelot, I was quite taken with the actress playing Morgana, Helen Mirren - she was riveting, not to mention sexy as all get out!

I really did not become aware of her again until Peter Greenaway's  The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, which I paid to see one Easter weekend I believe. Brilliant hard to watch film in which the amazing Helen bared her body and her soul.

This is about the time I became riveted by this amazing actress. She was fearless and always off the hook sexy no matter what age she was.

She also appeared in a certain cult movie called Caligula and if that isn't balls out I don't know what is?

Although she had deserved one for years before she won her first Oscar at sixty playing Queen Elizabeth II in what else, the Academy friendly The Queen. (you have to be toned down as an artist for this award people, let's face that.)

However the awesome Helen bounced back into the hot, sexy, rule breaking risk taker she always was by becoming one of the few female action stars who has had a hit movie Red, in her sixties no less, you go Dame Helen!

Recently she told the magazine Redbook, as she still busts down the walls at sixty-nine:

"I don't really know what a beauty routine is"

"One thing I consistently use is Latisse [the prescription lash-growth serum]. It really works, and if your eyelashes look great, you can let a lot of other things be crap,"

"Kate Somerville face wash. You don't have to spend a lot of money to get quality stuff nowadays. A brand like L'Oréal has amazing technology."

She also addressed the rumor that she cuts her own hair:

"Not always, but yes, I can't handle going to the hairdresser every six weeks, so I only go about once a year. In between, I get out the scissors and do something, usually rather disastrously. Sometimes I'll even chop my hair the morning of a big red-carpet event."

There's Nothing Like A Dame, Dame Helen That Is:
