CRSHD

CRSHD
Available on VOD & EST August 4, 2020
Available on DVD August 11, 2020

"Irrepressibly inventive and often impulsively unrestrained, Emily Cohn's CRSHD guilelessly celebrates digital youth culture and its sometimes messy inconsistency with abundant energy and attitude." - Hollywood Reporter

End-of-the-year celebrations are underway at a small liberal arts college in Ohio. The night's main event? A CRUSH PARTY. The rules? Submit your crush and they get an invite. Or if you're "crushed," you also get an invite.
Self-conscious freshman IZZY ALDEN is still a virgin and the crush party is her last chance to do something about it before summer. ANUKA and FIONA, Izzy's best friends, help Izzy on her mission to "bone" as they pursue romantic interests of their own.
In millennial fashion, social media plays mediator as the girls chase their crushes in real life and online.

Executive produced by Judy McGrath, former CEO of MTV Networks, CRSHD debuted at Tribeca in 2019 and played TIFF New Wave in February 2020.

"Winning and sweet... Very funny." - New York Times
"A wonderful new spin on the college sex comedy." - Hollywood News

"Deeply hilarious!" - Garage / VICE

"Sure to make you laugh!" - The Playlist

Tunesday Tuesday!

Rocking 65!
Dale Bozzio
Yesterday was Missing Persons front woman Dale Bozzio's 65th Birthday! Wow! I remember getting in tune (pun intended) with the band my freshman year in college via a well rounded, musically, guy in my dorm.

In fact he and I had tickets to see them in concert, but alas, the show got cancelled 😢 No worries I did see Ms. Bozzio perform with a version of Missing Persons (version meaning, not the original line up) on a double bill with E.G. Daily a few years back at the Whisky A Go Go on the Sunset Strip.

Thus in honor of my Missing Persons fandom and Ms. Bozzio's Birthday I am bequeathing you with a song that is quite timely at present by them "Destination Unknown."

"Life is so strange when you don't know, How can you tell where you're going to, You can't be sure of any situation, Something could change and then you won't know"

Get the picture? Hit the video after the jump!

Saturday Sinema: The Initiation

Since it's the season of the witch, shall we continue our horror countdown until Halloween? I thought you would concur, here we go with gore, gore, gore!

THE INITIATION [Blu-ray(11/8)
HERE'S TO BEING YOUNG... STAYING YOUNG... AND DYING YOUNG.

Marking TV star Daphne Zuniga's debut in a leading role, The Initiation ranks amongst the finest of the college-based stalk-and-slash flicks - now finally restored in glorious High-Definition!

Kelly's new sorority has a special initiation ritual in store for her - an after-hours break-in of her father's department store. But what begins as a night of harmless college fun turns sour when, once inside the enormous mall, Kelly and her fellow pledges find themselves locked in for the night... with a deadly intruder stalking the corridors.

Arriving in 1984, The Initiation might have been late to the slasher party, but, alongside the likes of The House on Sorority Row and The Mutilator, it remains one of the stronger entries to emerge in the latter days of the slice-and-dice boom.

Pee Wee Herman "Bowtie is the New Black"

    Need I Say More?
I'm so excited, and, no, I'm not going to hide it...so there! This ayem while checking out the news, entertainment and otherwise I found this awesome item via Vulture online:

"The news has been rumored for a while, but now it's confirmed: Judd Apatow's long-gestating Pee-wee Herman movie is headed to Netflix, the streaming giant announced today. Pee-wee's Big Holiday will tell the story of how "a fateful meeting with a mysterious stranger inspires Pee-wee Herman to take his first-ever holiday." It's being produced by Judd Apatow and Paul Reubens, written by Reubens and Paul Rust and directed by first-timer John Lee (Broad City). "Bowtie is the new black," said "Pee-wee" in a statement. He's on-brand already!"

Oh Hell to the yes! Pee Wees Big Adventure is one of my favorite films, I remember seeing it my freshman year of college. It was directed by first time and then unknown Tim Burton and it was pure genius!

Years later I sat next to him opening night of my friend E.G. Daily's one woman show Listen Closely, remember her as his girlfriend Dottie in his big adventure? That was so cool!

The pairing of he and Judd Apatow is genius....I'm pulling for you Pee Wee!

PS - Please put E.G. in it too.

    Miley Cyrus: I Kissed A Schwarzenegger - Kennedy & I Liked It

You Have Something Stuck In Your Teeth: Patrick & Miley
Will Miley Cyrus become the next Jackie O? Will model son Patrick Schwarzenegger go political? Oh, who cares!
But he and one of my favorite artists Miley Cyrus are so hot making out and that's what matters!
The singer and model/college student, both 21, were making out Thursday for all to see at the USC vs. Berkeley football game at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum. Adorably, Miley dressed in Trojans gear, wearing a hat and letterman jacket to show her support for Patrick's school.
This past weekend Miley and Pat enjoyed a date night out with some friends at Bagatelle restaurant in West Hollywood. .
Young love is awesome! Will it last? Time will tell...
    Meanwhile have fun you two!
