T.G.I.T. = Thank God It's Tanya

Groundbreaking country music icon Tanya Tucker opened up for the first time on NBC’s TODAY Show about her musical tribute to Glen Campbell and performed “Forever Loving You” this morning (click here to watch). Tucker also graces the cover of Closer Weekly on newsstands now and will appear on Inside Edition, Fox News Edge, The Insider, Lifeminute, Celebrity Page, Sirius XM and MORE during her NYC media blitz.

While their relationship and breakup made headlines years ago, Tucker channeled her heartfelt feelings for Campbell in “Forever Loving You” and is donating proceeds to Alzheimer's research.

Tucker co-wrote “Forever Loving You” with Michael Lynn Rogers and Rusty Crowe, a Tennessee State Senator who co-sponsored the Campbell/Falk Act. The Tennessee law protects communication rights for people who've become wards of the state and those who have conservators over their financial and living situations.

Michael's Musings

Reach The Beach
Michael Shinafelt
Hello Peeps! Wow this past week has been really great! How great was it Michael?! Well let me spill, there was a partial eclipse of the sun in Los Angeles, I saw my friend E.G. Daily perform raw (acoustic) at the Hotel Cafe, I went to the IT Experience in Hollywood and Donald Trump is still a F#ck Weasel....

It's time to extrapolate, now!

Best name ever for a club: Hissy Fist (if this confuses you, ask)

We only had a partial, eclipse that is, in Los Angeles. Damn not a total one! I was walking down Hollywood Blvd. at the time you would think peeps were the Walking Dead when it happened.

Warrior Juan, discuss

I got stage fright during my Mandolin auditions. Truth or Consequences???

When all else fails tell people: A Bear Kidnapped Me

Poor Little Kook

I know I posted about this, but ooooops! I'm gonna do it again. The IT Experience in Hollywood is a hoot and a holler and one eighth, yee haw!

E.G. Daily, Raw
Nobody does it better than E.G. Daily, raw! (meaning acoustic)

That time I overslept. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.....

Bethenny Frankel, that is all

How many Donald Trump's does it take to screw in a light bulb?

I wish you relevance

The IT Experience - Hollywood

As most of you know at this point, the movie IT opens September 8th. Well one of the best promotional stunts I have seen ever is the IT Experience in Hollywood. Located at the historic corner of Hollywood & Vine.

You get to go into Pennywise's house and explore all the dark depths of it. While one woman in our group of seven was completely freaked out. Me & Robert simply laughed like we were kids and enjoyed the ride.

It's a fun segue into a new realm of horror. The film I assure you is way more creepy/scary. Trust. I know a sound editor who saw clips of  it in an editing bay and told me what he saw still freaks him out to this very moment.

PS: If you choose to enter the house of Pennywise Robert says to wear sunscreen.

Enjoy the images from Robert's and My experience, if you dare....

Just Because...Christie & Reese

OMG!
Christie Brinkley & Reese Witherspoon
Just Because it's Tuesday, just because this was an amazing photo-op & just because they both look terrific together I present an image of supermodel Christie Brinkley with Reese Witherspoon at a HOME AGAIN event in East Hampton.

Christie re-defines what it is to be a woman in her 60's, she is 63. While Reese is in a category all her own.

Independent, strong, not to mention they are both lookers - these two have it going on!

To me this is hands down the best photo of two celebrities I have seen together all week. Yeah, I know it's only Tuesday, but I highly doubt (actually I am 100% sure) nothing will top this image in terms of voltage.

Now click your heels together and carry on.

Total Eclipse

Bonnie Tyler
It's Solar Eclipse day...woo hoo! I guess. I for one am going about my day like any other, I have been there and done that. However if you are on Royal Caribbean's "Total Eclipse Cruise well then that's another jam entirely....(source ABC News)

Bonnie Tyler will sing her iconic hit, "Total Eclipse of the Heart," during the actual total solar eclipse taking place today.

Tyler will perform the 1983 song alongside Joe Jonas' band DNCE as part Royal Caribbean's special "Total Eclipse Cruise."
"I'm on this amazing ship called the Oasis of the Seas and we're going to pass right through the totality area a little later on," Tyler said live from the cruise ship on "GMA." "We'll all be wearing our funny glasses of course and we'll see the total eclipse."

For The Love Of Anais

Troian Bellisario
"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." - Anaïs Nin.

Today, let's get literary. Although there are many quotes I love by writer Anais Nin the one above is a particular favorite.

Troian Bellisario formerly of one of my must see TV shows Pretty Little Liars inspired me to out myself as a Nin fan by posting this picture perfect image with said quote on her Instagram page. An action I just repeated except I posted the two together on Entertain Me, right here, right now.

Spencer Hastings, was always a fascinating character to me, because despite her flaws she had a fierce intelligence. This was due in no small part to Troian

Troian is a gifted actress with an intelligent mind, who happens to like one of my favorite wordsmiths of all time. This intelligence came across in her performance as Spencer and how she lives her life.

I'm so glad there are individuals like her in this world. She is a one of a kind unique person and I can't wait to see where she will go next.

"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail" - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Indeed.

Saturday Sinema: Between Night and Dawn

Remembering George A. Romero...

There's Always VanillaSeason of the Witch, and The Crazies, made between
Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead, showcase the extraordinary versatility
and dynamism of this irreplaceable American auteur... Three films from the late,
legendary horror director, George A. Romero, showing that although he might
have defined zombie cinema, it didn't define him.

Synopsis:

THERE'S ALWAYS VANILLA (1971)
Young drifter Chris and beautiful model Lynn embark upon a tumultuous relationship which seems doomed from the outset.
SEASON OF THE WITCH (1972)
Joan Mitchell is a bored housewife whose dissatisfaction with her humdrum life leads to an unhealthy interest in the occult.

THE CRAZIES (1973)
A small rural town finds itself in the grip of an infection which sends its hosts into a violent, homicidal frenzy.

We like it because:

When George A. Romero passed away in July, the film world didn't just lose its beloved 'King of Zombies', but also a groundbreaking and fearless innovator who inspired not only generations of genre directors, but also experimental and guerilla filmmakers for whom he laid down the template.

The three films collected in this box set - two early Seventies 'lost films' and a classic plague panic thriller - show there's more to the legendary director than simply gut-munching ghouls. The comedy romance There's Always Vanilla, psychological thriller Season of the Witch, and infection horror The Crazies - all filmed in and around Pittsburgh - serve to display the broader thematic concerns and auteurist leanings of a skilled craftsman too often pigeonholed within the genre; that said, The Crazies is one of his strongest horror offerings, with memorable performances from Lynn Lowry and Richard Liberty.
Romero managed to inject his films with subtle social allegories, nuanced examinations of the human condition, and just the right amount of black humor, so that they were immediately recognized as his and his alone. The box set showcases the director feeling his way towards the mainstream and showing a formidable assurance in three very distinct genres.

This fantastic box set includes brand new restorations of the three films, a lavish 60-page booklet featuring new writing on this fascinating chapter of Romero's career, a wealth of extras including interviews, featurettes and behind the scenes documentaries, reversible sleeves for all three films featuring original and newly-commissioned artwork, and a beautifully designed and striking slipcase featuring an iconic image of the man himself.
