Film Buff Friday: The Women

Ever heard of the 1939 classic film The Women? Well now you have, right here, right now. The Women is most notable for many reasons the least of them not being it features a cast of all, well, women, naturally.

Director,  George Cukor was known in Hollywood as a "Woman's Director" because of his talent for drawing compelling performances from "difficult actresses" i.e. women with strong personalities on and off screen.

He is said to have discovered Katherine Hepburn.

Now the time has come Minions to leave you in the more than capable hands of my buddy Jay Jacobson and his Classic Movie Blog.

"Yes" Jay is the one to turn to when your thirst of film knowledge is whetted, happy link clicking!

Hump Day & Chill

Chillin'
Ghostface

Hello Wednesday, something twisted this way comes! With the hotly anticipated Scream movie opening this Friday I thought today we would Hump Day & Chill Ghostface style.

"Yes" Minions we are going to bend it like the current incarnation of Ghostface above, by kicking back and letting the bodies pile up!

Word on the street is that Scream is the best sequel to Scream since Scream. That's so Meta.

Honestly with that kind of buzz I can't wait to see what they do with this outing and who the new Ghostface is and why they wanna keep harassing the population of Woodsboro. Seriously haven't they been butchered enough?!

In fact I plan on being at the cinema this Friday with my booty firmly planted in a chair taking it all in and shouting it all out.

But for now I'm gonna go Hump Day & Chill with Ghostface, the uncertainty is real...

Boo!!!

"Ghost Riders"

Ghost Riders
Coming February 8th 2022
For the first time ever on Blu-ray & DVD
via MVD Entertainment Group

Revenge is a hearty meal for phantoms of the prairie! On a dark and haunting night, all that is visible by the campfire light is the breath of vicious lawmen. The local preacher and townspeople gather on a lonesome prairie as the lawless career of desperado Frank Clements is about to end. Just as the hangman's noose tightens around his neck, the most feared outlaw of 1888 shouts a curse of revenge on the town preacher - a curse which will haunt the preacher's family through generations. One hundred years later, unsuspecting of the events in 1888, the town is prospering. Frank Clements and his gang return from hell to seek revenge against the preacher's grandson and his family. The fight against the phantoms from the past proves futile, and they become unwilling victims of bloodthirsty outlaws. Weapons are defenseless against the phantom cowboys - you can't kill what's already dead!

Earworm

Tina Turner

"I'm the gypsy, the acid queen, Pay me before I start, I'm the gypsy, I'm guaranteed, To tear your soul apart" - Acid Queen, Tina Turner

I'm wide awake on this Monday January 10th 2022 and guess what Minions??? Acid Queen by Tina Turner from the brilliant Ken Russell film Tommy is my earworm.

While I'm not really sure why that is, hey who is ever sure of an earworm? As far as these things go I'll take it!

Honestly there are worse ways to kick off your week like the meeting I have to hit this ayem, my back being sore and then there's the fact that I have had the worst insomnia for a couple of weeks. Yeah, you get the picture.

Tina Turner singing anything is a win, so I'm gonna take her energy and head into today like...The Acid Queen!

Pay me before I start Ho's!

Sunday Funday

Give It A Name...
Drew Barrymore and an Anonymous Chicken

Today we finally receive the answer to that age old question: "Why did the chicken cross the road?" The answer is: "To hang with Drew Barrymore!" Now that's a good reason, not a million reasons, but one good one.

Drew is sharing the joy of this moment by posing with said chicken on the streets of NYC. While filming The Drew Barrymore Show, naturally.

Ahhh...Sunday Funday!

My only remaining question "?" Who's that chicken??? I mean doesn't the chicken have a name?! He's almost famous...
