"Forgive Me"

FIERCELY AND DEFIANTLY, DANIELIA COTTON
RE-EMERGES FROM THE SHADOWS WITH ‘FORGIVE ME’

1st Single From ‘A Different War’ Out 2/28/20

https://music.apple.com/us/album/forgive-me-single/1500173385

“Ms. Cotton testifies to pain, need, revelation and redemption in a voice that’s as raw as it is indomitable.” – The New York Times

Hailed by The New York Times for music that’s “soulful enough to fill a revival tent,” DANIELIA COTTON has spent the past few years since her last album pulling herself out of the shadows, and she’s rising again into the light, fiercely and defiantly.

FORGIVE ME, the first single, due Feb. 28, off her newest album, A Different War, arriving later this year, sends a potent message that the “fiery rock vocalist” (American Songwriter) whose voice gives her songs “stunning power” (No Depression) has re-emerged and is delivering even more powerfully moving music than ever.

The hypnotic rhythms of the opening guitar chords transfix us, while Cotton’s somber opening vocals blossom into soaring flights of rocking soul. The evocative and transporting music of FORGIVE ME mimics the lyrics, which the Hopewell, NJ, native wrote with her sister, Catherine Fulmer-Hogan, stressing the necessity of forgiveness in any relationship.

“The only way you survive a relationship is through forgiveness,” says Cotton. “‘Don’t get lost in the fight,’ as I sing in the song. If you’re gonna last, then you’re gonna forgive each other a million times.”

Additionally praised by Billboard, the Los Angeles Times, NPR, and USA Today, among others throughout her career, Cotton, as always, inhabits a song, turning it inside and out, creating transcendent music and lyrics, and carrying us higher and higher with her in her musical flights.

Available at Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, and where music is consumed on-line.

When The Runaway Met Fanny

CHERIE CURRIE & BRIE DARLING
Announce North American & Canadian Tour Dates

New Album “The Motivator” – Debuts Top 20 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart

Los Angeles-based, female rock icons, Cherie Currie and Brie Darling have announced the initial dates for their first-ever tour together.  The tour, in support of their recently released new album The Motivator is set to kick off in Las Vegas on November 8.  The month long trek will weave through major markets including Chicago, Philadelphia and New York as well as some Canadian dates.   All dates will go on sale Friday, September 6  at 8 AM PST/11 AM EST.

“I’ve worked my whole life for this. I feel so lucky to share this new experience with an icon I truly admire.” says Cherie Currie while Brie Darling sums up her excitement for the upcoming tour with “It's gonna get noisy ...You're gonna wanna be here!"

The Motivator debuted in the Top 20 on Billboard’s Heatseeker’s Chart and has received rave reviews with The Big Takeover saying “the chemistry of Currie and Darling is awe inspiring as the vocal gymnastics of both complement each other perfectly,” while Uncut magazine raves “The pick of their three originals is the defiant pop-rock anthem, “This Is Our Time”. “It ain’t over yet, turn up our voices past 10,” sings Currie.  And they have.”

In addition to major feature stories in the LA Times HERE and Billboard Magazine HERE Cherie & Brie recently sat down with CNNto discuss the new project: Brie & Cherie on CNN

The Motivator via Blue Γ‰lan Records was produced by the six-time Grammy nominated Dave Darling (Brian Setzer, Stray Cats, Janiva Magness, Tom Waits) and features nine classic covers by bands including The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, and John Lennon, plus three powerful new originals, “Too Bruised,” “I’m Too Good, That’s Just Too Bad” and the topical “This Is Our Time.”

The Kinks classic “Do It Again” - View the video HERE  and also stream “Do It Again” HERE
The Youngbloods’ "Get Together" and T. Rex’s  "The Motivator"

Guests on the album include a host of family and friends who came in to do backups, including Currie’s sister, actress Sondra Currie, her ex-husband, actor Robert Haysfriends, Susan Olsen of Brady Bunch fame, Leslie Koch Foumberg, and actress/director, Allison Scagliotti. Darling’s brother, Henry Berry is on “He Ain’t Heavy”; and brother Phil Berry does a guitar solo on the Kinks tune “Do it Again” while her sister, Rory Berry Bishop plays drums on Thunderclap Newman’s “Something in the Air.” Patti Quatro—Suzi’s sister and a member of Fanny—plays guitar and sings on “For What It’s Worth.”

The Runaways front-woman and solo artist, Currie, met the Fanny drummer and singer, Darling, in 2017 and immediately connected.  Currie had come in to contribute vocals to Fanny Walked the Earth, a reunion album from the trailblazing Fanny, the first all-female band signed to a major label (Reprise) in 1969.  Though the two musicians were certainly admirers of each other, they had not yet met until that session.  Once connected, the idea to continue collaborating was hatched and soon the idea to record an album was solidified.

It was decided they would record an album of cover songs that resonated with the duo.  The covers chosen mostly share—unintentionally—a socio-political resonance that’s as relevant today as when the songs were written.  “The original album concept was that Brie was going to sing a few, I’d sing a few, and we’d back each other up,” furthers Currie. “But I knew our voices really work well together. On T. Rex’s ‘The Motivator,’ Brie did a great soulful rock scratch vocal but maybe I have more of a tough rock quality to my voice, so I think Dave decided I was going to sing it.  But in my head I heard a duet, me doing the first verse, her on the second verse….and that started the dialog of using our voices together as a concept. Our voices complement each other, so we decided we should share the majority of these songs, because it makes them better.”  Producer Dave Darling says, "It's extremely rare to have two such powerful vocalists in the same band. Cherie's a steam roller and Brie's a flame thrower. That just doesn't happen!"

Another Broken Heart

Billy Winn Returns in Dreamland II, The Final EP of His Two-Part Series
Featuring Debut Single, “Another Broken Heart”

Billy Winn’s Dreamland II picks up where Dreamland I left off.  Thematically, at least.  Sonically, its debut single, “Another Broken Heart,” releasing May 24, turns up the drama with a heavy-octane dance number.  “I love going back to EDM, where it all started for me,” Winn explains.  “High energy dance is always a great place to get things started.”

Both EPs tell stories from the perspective of a queer kid of color who has had his heart broken.  “It’s the only position that I can write from and it’s one that I can’t recall ever hearing in pop music,” Winn continues.  “My hope is that regardless of where you come from, who you are now, or who you are becoming; you’re able to find something in these songs that resonates and makes you want to play them over and over again.”

“Another Broken Heart” was inspired by a series of circumstances in Winn’s life, including the death of his father.  “He and I weren’t close but at the end of his life, I was asked to return home to take care of him and my family.  It was an extremely emotional situation, and definitely something that I’m still healing from.”
Billy Winn
He didn’t intend on making “Another Broken Heart” a dance record.  Its original chorus was midtempo.   The idea to speed up the melody and make it a dance record came from his production team, Johnie & Elliot.  “Johnie turned the song into something rare,” Winn reflects.  “It’s a dance track with a strong, relatable message about something we’ve all been through at least once.  I think it’s the perfect summer song.”

Billy Winn is a Billboard-charting singer, songwriter, recording artist, and performer who regularly thrills audiences with his shows and music releases, ranging from high energy dance records to emotionally charged EDM.  With Dreamland II, Winn notes his inspirations as being a mix of 90s R&B and the EDM of the last decade.

“I was listening to a lot of TLC and Janet Jackson while I was working on Dreamland II; specifically, Crazy, Sexy, CoolFanmail, and Janet’s Velvet Rope album.  At the same time, I was listening to artists like Flume, Owl City, Robyn, and Tove Lo; trying to find a place musically where all those influences could exist or become something completely different altogether.”

Last year, Billy Winn released Dreamland I, an album that explored life as a perception of fantasy and guilty pleasures.   Singles “Seal It with a Kiss”, “If You Really Cared”, and “Crash” were all presented as chapters in a larger story.    “Another Broken Heart” is the next chapter in Winn’s Dreamland saga.

“In ‘Another Broken Heart’ and all of the songs in Dreamland II, the idea is that it’s all fun and games until someone catches feelings,” Winn says.

Dreamland II is a bit angrier than the first EP with a little more underlying pain because the perspective has changed.   “I’m not only talking from one individual’s thoughts or feelings anymore. In Dreamland II, I consider multiple angles.”

It’s been a year since Winn released Dreamland I and the acclaim from the album has allowed him to tour and expand his fan base.  It has also taught him to not doubt or second guess himself.    “I’m trusting my instincts a lot more these days and I have to admit I’m pretty confident in the road ahead.”

“Things will happen that are outside of my control, but I’m not letting those forces control me.”

Billy Winn’s Dreamland II is being distributed by Ferocious Music and OneRPM and is available on iTunes, Spotify and all digital platforms.  For more information, visit BillyWinn.com or follow him on Facebook.

Queen Of The Billboards, Angelyne

She's Baaaaaack!
Angelyne's Current Billboard

Angelyne, the Hollywood Billboard Queen has been famous for years for doing, well nothing. Long before it was a thing. She was known far and wide for her image on numerous billboards throughout the Hollywood area. Making her Hollywood's unofficial mascot, if you will.

She is also know for driving around the city in a hot pink corvette and everyone in town laying bragging rights to an Angelyne sighting. I remember the first time I spotted her after I arriving in the City of Angels it was like I had seen a unicorn.

Little Pink Corvette
Well after laying low for years and merely jetting around town in her signature pink corvette the Queen is back with a new billboard in Hollywood at the corner of Cahuenga & Yucca. She also has a new single out with the name "Heart" thrown in for good measure.

Hollywood's unofficial mascot has returned and honestly? It's great to have her back, especially in an era of celebrity that she was the forerunner of.

What Makes U "Say Yes"

Look Into My Eyes & "Say Yes"
Jason Walker
Jason Walker & Tony Moran are "So Happy" to "Say Yes" to #1!!!

Two-time Grammy nominated dance producer Tony Moran and Out Music Award winner Jason Walker are following up “So Happy”, their #1 Billboard hit from this summer, with a celebratory new track for fall, “Say Yes”. Written by Tony Moran and Mike Greenly, the hard-pounding single features another awe-inspiring vocal performance by Jason Walker, along with a superstar collection of remixes and a thrilling new music video by Karl Giant. “Say Yes” is available now on iTunes via http://www.mrtanmanmusic.com.

“Tony Moran approached me about doing another track right after we finished recording ‘So Happy’, our song that would climb all the way to #1,” recalls Jason Walker from his New York home. “What else could I do but ‘Say Yes’?”

“Mike and I were inspired to write the song from all the wedding ceremonies we’ve each been attending since the supreme court legalized same-sex marriage,” explains Tony Moran. “It’s made us reflect on the power of saying yes and how that simple three letter word can move mountains, promote progress and change life as we know it.”

“I asked Jason to record the single for us because that magical voice of his exudes power. He’s an incredible talent and someone that I truly believe represents the future of music.”

Moran and Walker re-enlisted videographer Karl Giant, the director of the “So Happy” video to helm "Say Yes" - check it out after the jump!
