Just Because she's giving off cooler than us vibes, Just Because she's gone completely black & Just Because she caught my eye while surfing the WWW - Ladies & Gentlemen it's Amber Heard!

I honestly don't know too much about Heard other than the domestic abuse incident between herself and her then partner Johnny Depp. 

That I believe is about to change with the upcoming release of her movie London Fields in which she plays Nicola Six who happens to be clairvoyant.

What's that? OK, here's the synopsis:

"Clairvoyant femme fatale Nicola Six has been living with a dark premonition of her impending death by murder. She begins a tangled love affair with three uniquely different men: one of whom she knows will be her murderer."

Sounds intense, no? 

Most likely not as intense as the heat Amber was enduring when this photo op happened, since it was snapped in NYC and it's, well like summer and it's New York and stuff....

Domestic Abuse

The subject of Domestic Abuse has grabbed worldwide focus again in the divorce of world famous superstar Johnny Depp and his Wife Amber Heard. 

Johnny has been vehemently defended by friends and his former partner Vanessa Paradis with whom he has two children. Many of Depp's friends calling Heard a manipulative gold digger.

Let's put the mud slinging and the whole taking sides thing away for a moment to focus on a subject that should always be treated respectfully and with sensitivity. This commentary is not about lying whores or evil pricks. It's about being aware that this is an issue that affects 1 in 4 Women and 3 million Men. 

It's about those who take advantage of someone else's emotional and physical vulnerability. Again this is not about side taking, or about Depp and Heard, it is about educating. Just because someone does not abuse all of their partners, does not mean they will not abuse others.

My good friend Romi Simmons wrote this account about her Mother in the wake of all this:

"Just weighing in .... From personal experience ... Some people don't behave the same with other partners... Usually the dynamics... Brought out by each other.....My Dad beat my Mom... But he didn't beat his other wife or his GF. They never believed the stories I told them. Nor did our community.... Plus they always said women who stay with Men who abuse them Must like it... Lol... I remember that always pissed me off... That statement... We didn't like it.. We just didn't know we had a way out...."

This is something that most people do not consider when they hear that someone is being abusive to another human being that has never done the same to them. It's an important point that needs to be addressed more in the press by those who report it. The sensationalism, insensitivity and ignorance toward this has got to stop.

It's Saturday and I came across some smoking photos of Johnny Depp and his wife Amber Heard on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival for the premiere of the Deppsters latest film: Black Mass.

They look so amazing together in their too cute for words color coordinated black outfits.

Heard's being a gorgeous dress and Depp's being a snappy suit.

It's been a long time since the red carpet has been this hot!

They're Here To Make You Rock - Hollywood Vampires

Johnny Depp will get to play rock star with two past collaborators and rock legends.

The movie star has formed a supergroup  Hollywood Vampires, with the original Marilyn Manson Alice Cooper and Aerosmith lead guitarist Joe Perry. The band will perform its first major gig at the 2015 Rock in Rio music festival that will take place in September in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, they have also recorded an album.

"Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp have been partners for a while and now with Joe Perry also on Hollywood Vampires, they will 'rock it out' yet once again."  Alice Cooper stated.

The name of the supergroup is an homage to The Hollywood Vampires, a posse of famous musicians who used alcohol as their method of initiation back in the '70s, according to the festival's statement and Rolling Stone. The "Lair of the Hollywood Vampires" was the famed Rainbow Bar and Grill in West Hollywood. Cooper, The Who's Keith Moon, The Beatles' John Lennon and Ringo Star and Harry Nilsson were among the members.

I've been to the Rainbow Bar and Grill - guess that makes me an alcohol sucker too!

R.I.P. - My Personal Encounter With Susan Tyrrell

Oscar nominated for John Huston's "Fat City" Susan Tyrrell should have won...that being stated the cult actress who was never a household name, career was best described by her Mother to the LA Weekly where Susan recounted her statement: 


“The last thing my mother said to me was, ‘SuSu, your life is a celebration of everything that is cheap and tawdry,’” the actress recalled to writer Paul Cullum, who penned a 2000 profile of Tyrrell for the LA Weekly. “I’ve always liked that, and I’ve always tried to live up to it.”

And live up to it she did! With roles in John Water's "Crybaby" as Johnny Depp's Mother and my personal favorite as "Queen Doris of the Sixth Dimension/Ruth Henderson" in Oingo Boingo's "Forbidden Zone". 

SuSu was one of a kind. Oh, and "yes" I did have a personal encounter with this unique and passionate human being. SuSu was friends with Brian Grillo lead singer of the late great homo hardcore Los Angeles based punk/rock band, "Extra Fancy". 

One night my friend Brittney and myself strutted out to a now defunct club, "Temple" in Silverlake, CA to see our "Fancy" guys when what to our wandering eyes did appear standing next to us..."yeppers" Ms. Susan Tyrrell!


We were both bouncing around and loving on the music, when out of the blue, SuSu grabbed me by the collar and said, quite sincerely I might add: "I'm going to chain you down puppy" !


Susan was a lover of life and that will always be my memory of her, hey SuSu, I know you are somewhere amazing ..!
