National Joe Day

Got Joe?
Taylor Swift & Joe Alwyn

In today's turn and face the strange news, did you know that guys named Joe have their own day? Well now you do today is National Joe Day! Seriously, it is, look it up if you don't believe me.

So if you have an actual friend named Joe, perhaps you want to meet up for a cup of Joe or two to celebrate. Of course we all know how Taylor Swift will be celebrating this day being as she has a beau named Joe, actor Joe Alwyn to be exact.

Now I don't think they will celebrate dressed to the nines as they are in the above moment, but I am sure they will most likely be up to something, something.

Remember today the world belongs to all the Joe's and you just live in it...

Good Vibes Only

Cowabunga!
Liam Hemsworth

Do you feel them? They're coming...Good Vibes, yeah that's the ticket! We need to constantly remind ourselves that their is good in this world of chaos, fer sure!

Thus Surfer Dude Liam Hemsworth seen, well surfing, in Byron Bay Australia seems like an apt conduit to them.

Seriously, what says Good Vibes more than a laid back Surfer Dude in casual attire and bare feet? I ask you, I know you won't tell, whatever...

If something is working your last nerve today, think of  Liam, surfing in Australia, it most likely will help bring on a better vibration for you.

Surfs Up!

Hump Day & Chill

Mike Sodini

Let's Hump Day & Chill to a classic, as in a 1999 Playgirl spread of model Mike Sodini. Turns out Mike has an interesting back story on his way to becoming a Supermodel. He started out as an aspiring Screenwriter and Public Relations man, that was until one day...

"No" I am not going to tell the rest of the tale, that's in the capable hands of Tye Briggs who tells it and posted many images of the "Full Mike" on his Favorite Hunks & Other Things blog.

So I don't know about you butt I'm ready for it are you? Of course you are, so click on the link below and read Mike's story (if you can peel your eyes away from his full exposure) and Hump Day & Chill!!!

In the words of Mike: "Let's Watch The Passion Develop" Yours Truly, Mike

STRICTLY ELIZABETH CONFIRMS NEW ALBUM RELEASE CONTEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION ON MAY 28

Eight-Song Album Will Be Released Digitally and On Vinyl from Multi-Disciplined Artist Via DashGo

Strictly Elizabeth confirmed today the release of her new album Contemporary Construction set for release on Friday May 28 digitally with vinyl to follow. It will be distributed via DashGo on Data Water Records.

Recorded at Misphonia Studios, Contemporary Construction is a collaboration between Strictly Elizabeth and producer/musician Shane Soloski (Brian Wilson, Five For Fighting). It’s a deeply personal album made of hard work and dedication in the studio touching on themes of sex, grief, vanity and getting clean.

It's almost all original tunes including an ode to Coretta Scott King entitled "Coretta". In reference to two of the songs on the album Jessica Elizabeth said, " ' Coretta ' and ' You and Free ' have their origins in New York City ", she explained. " When I picked them back up in California, I began to feel them as premonitions. I realized that my searching for meaning and purpose in life was already here in these songs and the experiences of my grief shed light on their completion. In addition to the original material, three cover versions from Everclear, Billy Joel and Love & Rockets complement it.

Contemporary Construction follows the 2020 release of Shelter in Place as well as the animated short film, What Happened to Stephanie? Shelter in Place which was released to great acclaim and built a solid following at college radio. The short film received the Best Music Video Award at the LA Film Awards in March of 2021. This three-song EP/Video features a new version of the track “Oscillation Friday” with noted producer and musician Ira Ingber (Bob Dylan, Van Dyke Parks, Danny Elfman) as well as previously released tracks “Baby, C’Mon” and “Seduction Trash” from Shelter in Place.

Contemporary Construction is awash in musical and lyrical complexity and contradiction, a hymn to her and a psalm to silence. Dreamy, heavy, light and dark, the sweetly vicious confessions of Strictly Elizabeth's music cuts and soothes with post punk grooves you won't soon forget.

Monday Vibe

Put A Ring On It
Bella Thorne & Benjamin Mascolo

Spring has sprung and that usually is conducive to love being in the air, and well, engagements. This spring is no exception why it was only yesterday that Actress Bella Thorne's boy friend of two years, Musician Benjamin Mascolo popped the question.

Benjamin proposed in and oh so romantic way, he wrote the love letter on the back of the script for their new movie Time Is Up. Can I get an Awwwwwww....of course I can!!!

Taking to Twitter Bella captioned their engagement photo: He used my first love (acting) to ask me to be his forever love 💓💓

Stop it you two, you are making the rest of us look like rank amateurs during the season of love.

Thus the Monday Vibe is, love, duh! Whether it's a romance, bromance, friendship, sisterhood or puppy, love is in the air, get yourself some...

Sunday Sinema: Switchblade Sisters

From Jack Hill, legendary director of Spider Baby, Coffy, Foxy Brown, and The Swinging Cheerleaders comes another iconic cult classic, Switchblade Sisters!

Lace (Robbie Lee), the leader of inner city girl gang The Dagger Debs, meets her match when new girl Maggie (Joanne Nail) moves into the neighborhood. Mistrust and conflict turn to friendship as the girls end up in Juvenile Detention together at the mercy of abusive guards. Meanwhile, The Dagger Debs' male counterparts The Silver Daggers have to contend with the arrival of a new gang, led by the villainous Crabs (Chase Newhart). But when the girls get back on the streets, a planned retaliation strike in tandem with The Silver Daggers backfires and puts Lace in hospital. Maggie assumes control, teaming up with Muff (Marlene Clark) and her gang of African-American militants from across town to declare all out war. But there's a traitor in their midst...

Filled with sharp, clever dialogue and tongue in cheek humor, this Shakespeare-influenced girl gang/women in prison/action movie medley is a stone cold grindhouse classic!
