I can't help but love you" - Honey Don't Leave Me, Tender MisfitHere's Monday Motivation straight outta one Ms. Kim Kardashian. Whatever your opinion of her nobody, and I mean no one rains on this woman's parade, so there!
Clearly she believes what she says because look at where she is.
A successful (very) businesswoman, Media Personality and Actress. "Yes" I said actress. While she has appeared in other things she IMHOP was the best thing, in an otherwise humdrum half season of American Horror Story: Delicate.
The woman knows of what she speaks, thus your Monday Motivation? Do what Kim K says and do it as much or more.
That's all...

Mike Clifford |
Today I'd like to give a Happy 80th Birthday shout out to friend and singer of many hit songs including, but not limited to "Close To Cathy" Mike Clifford!
Here he is pictured above at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, CA with a classic Kaiser Darrin sports car. "Yes" Mike loves cars and had one of his Birthday celebrations at the museum this past Friday.
He's also still making music, so let's all wish Mike a Happy 80th shall we? We shall!
Keep up with Mike at the links below and check out his latest video A Time For Love after the jump!
Marty McFly & Doc Brown Back to the Future |
I still to this day do not understand why we set our clocks back and hour for the Fall/Winter season and honestly I loathe it! I wished we could stay put on Daylight Saving Time year round.
Yet, nonetheless the time has come to do so yet again (sigh) - So here are Marty McFly (Michael J Fox) and Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) to gently remind you of our journey into perpetual darkness tonight...that's correct Minions set those clocks back an hour at midnight.
Enjoy the ride???

"Roger Vadim's ultra-kitsch sci-fi classic somehow improves with age"

Slip out of your spacesuit and into something more comfortable! It's time to join Barbarella on a series of cosmic adventures in this Dino De Laurentiis production directed by Roger Vadim (And God Created Woman) and starring Jane Fonda as the intergalactic glamour puss created by comic book artist Jean-Claude Forest. It is the year 40,000AD. When evil scientist Durand Durand (Milo O'Shea) creates a deadly weapon with the potential to cause mass devastation, the President of Earth dispatches Barbarella (Fonda) to hunt him down. Crash-landing in an icy wilderness somewhere within the Tau Ceti planetary system, Barbarella is rescued by Mark Hand (Ugo Tognazzi, La Cage Aux Folles) and guided by the blind angel Pygar (John Phillip Law, Danger: Diabolik) to Durand's lair in Sogo, a city of corruption and debauchery, where an encounter with the Great Tyrant Black Queen (Anita Pallenberg, Performance) and her minions throws her mission into jeopardy. With an all-star cast including David Hemmings and Marcel Marceau, and glorious retro-futuristic costumes and art design dripping with 60s psychedelia, Barbarella defined an era and has never looked better than this brand new 4K restoration, loaded with never-before-seen bonus features!
Saw this saying painted on the sidewalk on my way home from Alcove, where I had the most delicious tuna melt and truffle fries. Day of the Dead brunch if you will. So naturally I had to take a photo of such a provocative thought.
It got me thinking just what could "Art That Kills" mean. My interpretation is any artistic impulse that is repressed by fear of engaging with it. There you go Minions wisdom straight outta Los Angeles, here comes some more, or perhaps not...
A raisin can be in the sun, but it cannot be in the potato salad, the more you know
Meet me in the back. By the dumpster and the rats. Where we lean and things make sense.

Did my usual Halloween tradition and watched, what else, the movie that started it all the original 1978 John Carpenter's Halloween! It doesn't scare me like it used to, but it's still great!

Always Remember... Michael Shinafelt |
Today is the Day of the Dead, so naturally we are going to commemorate it with a Hump Day & Chill.
Day of the Dead is to remember those who are no longer with us and to celebrate them and their contributions to our lives.
This photo is from last year's Day of the Dead celebration at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, hence the skulls in the background.
I did not attend this year, as it tends to be really crowded and I wasn't in the mood for such nonsense.
So let us Hump Day & Chill today by remembering those who are no longer with us.
Peace.
