Donald Sutherland

Donald Sutherland & Jane Fonda

Here is a photo of Donald Sutherland & Jane Fonda on Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles, CA. As you recall they starred in Klute together.

Donald Sutherland was very much a part of my movie going experience growing up. Don't Look Now and Ordinary People come to mind. Klute I have yet to see and is on my list.

Thanks for the memories...

Monday Motivation

Jane Fonda

“We’re still living with the old paradigm of age as an arch. That’s the old metaphor: You’re born, you peak at midlife and decline into decrepitude. ... A more appropriate metaphor for aging is a staircase. The upward ascension of the human spirit, bringing us into wisdom, wholeness and authenticity.”

~ Jane Fonda

As someone in their 50's I can honestly veirfy this as 100% True!

Monday Motivation indeed...

Barbarella

"Roger Vadim's ultra-kitsch sci-fi classic somehow improves with age"

     —Dan Geary, Total Film

Slip out of your spacesuit and into something more comfortable! It's time to join Barbarella on a series of cosmic adventures in this Dino De Laurentiis production directed by Roger Vadim (And God Created Woman) and starring Jane Fonda as the intergalactic glamour puss created by comic book artist Jean-Claude Forest. It is the year 40,000AD. When evil scientist Durand Durand (Milo O'Shea) creates a deadly weapon with the potential to cause mass devastation, the President of Earth dispatches Barbarella (Fonda) to hunt him down. Crash-landing in an icy wilderness somewhere within the Tau Ceti planetary system, Barbarella is rescued by Mark Hand (Ugo Tognazzi, La Cage Aux Folles) and guided by the blind angel Pygar (John Phillip Law, Danger: Diabolik) to Durand's lair in Sogo, a city of corruption and debauchery, where an encounter with the Great Tyrant Black Queen (Anita Pallenberg, Performance) and her minions throws her mission into jeopardy. With an all-star cast including David Hemmings and Marcel Marceau, and glorious retro-futuristic costumes and art design dripping with 60s psychedelia, Barbarella defined an era and has never looked better than this brand new 4K restoration, loaded with never-before-seen bonus features!

"Strike" A Pose

Grace and Frankie
Jane Fonda & Lily Tomlin

With the Writer's Guild and SAG/AFTRA on strike there's a lot of picketing going on in Hollywood. I see the actors and writers out in full force all over the city when I'm out and about.

Here's Jane Fonda & Lily Tomlin striking a pose in support of their fellow actors. It's a nice show of solidarity when Hollywood heavy weights like these two actually get out on the picket line. Many do not.

Keep on fighting everyone I stand with you 100%!

Jan Fonda Fitness Queen

Remember when Jane Fonda was Queen of Fitness? If so, then you are a person of a certain age. Oh yes you are...

Lightyear Entertainment, in partnership with Fonda, Inc., has announced the release of two more of the best-selling fitness videos of all time, on DVD and Digital Media, with a DVD street date of December 18, 2018.
This follows the successful release of 5 of the Fonda Workouts in 2015, including the Original Workout, plus a DVD boxed set, The Jane Fonda Workout Collection.
The new titles are the Lean Routine and Lower Body Solution Workouts. The DVDs will be released in the U.S. and Canada through MVD Distribution.

Lower Body Solution is a complete workout for abs, buns, and thighs. Adaptable for all fitness levels, the low-impact choreography is user friendly to beginners, while optional bench aerobics add variety and challenge for intermediate and advanced exercisers.

Lean Routine is the ultimate fat-burning workout for everyone. It includes low impact high energy aerobics, applicable for beginners through advanced.

Jane Fonda said: "Who knew that this many years later people would still be doing The Workout, but they are!"
Arnie Holland, President of Lightyear, said "The five DVDs we released in 2015 and the Boxed Set have been selling extraordinarily well and steadily for the past 3 years. We are delighted that Jane Fonda and Warner Bros. have agreed to allow us to release more of these programs, which changed the face of the home video business when originally released. They set unheard of sales records, dominated the sell-through charts for more than a decade, and changed American culture. Lean Routine and Lower Body Solution are two of the programs that fans have most often requested."
Both programs have been digitally remastered and color corrected for the upcoming release by Gerry Curtis at Forest Lake Films.

Lightyear Entertainment, a distributor of independent films and music, was founded in 1987.

Hump Day & Chill

Red, Red, Wine...
Kristin Cavallari & Jay Cutler
Today's Hump Day & Chill is taking a departure from the usual exploitation of naked male skin.

"Yes" today we are celebrating two of my favorite Adult Beverages that I like to imbibe when I have had a rough shot week.

First and foremost, because it is the easiest to access, out of the starting gate and ready to rumble is Red Wine. Illustrated here by the cool as ice Kristin Cavallari and her manly stud of a husband Jay Cutler (yeah, I still had to have some stud flesh, it's Hump Day & Chill minions.)

One Olive, Or Two?
Jane Fonda & Lily Tomlin
Next up we have the martini, enjoyed by the timeless Jane Fonda on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live with other fellow legend Lily Tomlin.

So Jane, is it a vodka or gin martini? I prefer mine gin, vodka is too obvious and easy.

What's your favorite Adult Beverage to Hump Day & Chill with? Do tell, not in a tattling way, in a confessional way.

"I'll Have What She's Having" Jane Fonda

9 to 5 Plastic Surgeons Pick Jane Fonda
l - r
Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton & Jane Fonda

What a flashback to my Freshman year in High School thrill it was to see the three stars on 9 to 5 - Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton & Jane Fonda reunited at the 2017 Emmy Awards last night!

Oh, those were the days my friend, I'd thought they'd never end...well they really haven't especially for Jane.

Lily always the earth mother looks good for her age, Dolly the bigger than life glamour puss looked very Dolly. Jane on the other hand was a whole different story. At 79 years young she showed up looking like she hadn't even hit puberty. Yet still looked like a wonderfully aged star!

All kidding aside denizens of Hollywood, if you are going to go under the knife, please bend it like Jane. Don't look like a science fiction experiment, or a freakish version of who you once were.

Be like Jane. Look crazy young, and like yourself. Don't distort what the public has liked about you all these years. Nip, tuck and whatever else you have done gracefully, not grotesquely.

Who cares if you have work, everyone in Hollywood does it. All the popular people do it. But you'd better know how to get work, that werks!

In need of a good plastic surgeon? Who you gonna call? Jane Fonda!

Jan Fonda, Vibrator Saleswoman

Feels So Good Inside
Jane Fonda
On the upcoming season of Grace and Frankie Jane Fonda gave Ellen the 411 that her character becomes a vibrator saleswoman. Yes, you read that correctly, call it fitness for the over seventy set?

On the plus side the directions are in large print so they are easily legible. Jane cried uncle and admitted to trying out all different kinds of Joy Toys for season three research.

You go Jane Fonda! I hope to look and feel as good as you do at 78!

On that note I leave this for you on the floor as it were.

T.G.I.F! I hereby decree this, use it or lose it Friday

Your mission this weekend, should you have the balls to accept it is to Bend It Like Fonda.

Cheers!

Working "9 to 5"

Trio
l-r Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin & Dolly Parton

Well this should be fun! Jane Fonda & Dolly Parton are going to present Lily Tomlin the 53rd SAG Lifetime Achievement Award at the what else? The 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on January 29th

OK, I don't get the 53 and 23 thing, but I do comprehend why the award is being presented on the SAG Award Show. It really doesn't matter anyway when it brings us 9 to 5 reunion, right?!

"Yes" Fonda, Tomlin & Parton have remained close friends all these years since their classic work place comedy 9 to 5 was released December 19th 1980, the day after my Birthday, there's a piece of trivia I bet  you didn't know before.

I was taken to see it that weekend actually (I wasn't old enough to drive yet and of course you know my Mother wanted to see it too) What a fun movie it was and still is.

This will make the SAG Awards a must see for me this year, well at least this part of the show, and I am sure this news has put a smile on all your collective faces, thus I have done my job.

Later and have a Groovy Tuesday

Pamela Anderson, Jane Fonda & Jake Shears Are "Connected"

Stripped Down
Pamela Anderson
Bet you'd never thought you would see this combo of three names together? Frankly, neither did I, but in the good ole biz of show these days I also know anything goes.

Oh yes, let me spill exactly how these three appear in the same headline. Pamela Anderson stars in a sci-fi short by Luke Gilford, bearing the title Connected. Which also features narration by Jane Fonda and music by Jake Shears. Got it?

Here is what filmmaker/photographer Gilford has to say about it:

“’Connected’ is a portrait of a woman grappling with aging, self-perception, and transformation in a technologically optimized world,” Gilford explains on his website. “Jackie (Pamela Anderson) is … obsessed with self-improvement tapes (voiced by Jane Fonda), and she is soon drawn to an advanced yet enigmatic wellness spa that promises to enhance her mind, body, and soul.”
The short is quite effective and shows Ms. Anderson in a whole new light, as someone who is yearning for something different than what she has been pigeonholed as. Kudos Pamela you did a bang up job! Cheers to seeing more of this type of of thing from you in your future endeavors, stay Connected.
View Connected after the jump!

Ladies Who Lunch

Let's Do Lunch
Lady Gaga & Jane Fonda
I love coming across photos of two stars who paths you would never imagine crossing enjoying a moment together.

This week the prize for my favorite goes to the legendary Jane Fonda and the amazing Lady Gaga.

Both were on hand to give out money at the annual Hollywood Foreign Press Association Grants Banquet held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

Fonda & Gaga reportedly stole the show, and it is fitting that these two bigger than life personalities should engage in conversation and a photo op together.

Fonda is back in full force with her hit show Grace and Frankie with Lily Tomlin on Netflix and Gaga in the upcoming season of AHS, American Horror Story: Hotel.

Would love to have been a fly on the wall for the sound bites exchanged between these two!
