Tis The Season..."White Christmas"

                                                                "I'm Dreaming Of A..." - Sandy Zacky

Today I am feeling somewhat (not entirely) remiss. There are merely 17 days left until Christmas and, like, I haven't even acknowledged the Holiday this month.

Well I am rectifying that today, Monday December 7, 2020! Being as we could use all of the Holiday cheer we can get this year, I hereby bequeath you with the resident Diva at Entertain Me, Sandy with a "Y" not "E" and her rendition of the classic "White Christmas."

No need to thank me, just give Sandy's lovely take on the sentimental favorite below.

It's the perfect way to kick off your week, and a perfect way to start the countdown to Christmas (say that three times fast) here on Entertain Me!

Now stop being a Grinch and listen closely. Christmas is just around the corner...Ho Ho Ho!

Sunday Sinema: Tremors

I remember seeing this at a screening, it's fun! 😄

A pulse-pounding love letter to 1950s creature features that delivers horror and humor in equal measure, Tremors is a bonafide cult classic that has grabbed audiences' affections ever since its release and spawned a successful franchise that continues to this day.

Good-ol'-boy handymen Val (Kevin Bacon) and Earl (Fred Ward) are sick of their dead-end jobs in one-horse desert town Perfection, Nevada (population: 14). Just as they're about to escape Perfection forever, however, things start to get really weird: half-eaten corpses litter the road out of town; the phone lines stop working; and a plucky young scientist shows evidence of unusually strong seismic activity in the area. Something is coming for the citizens of Perfection... and it's under the goddamn ground!

Bursting with indelible characters, quotable dialogue and jaw-dropping special effects, Tremors is back and bigger than ever in this 4K-restored and fully loaded collectors' edition.

"From KO To Chaos"

Iggy and the Stooges "From KO to Chaos"

8 Disc Box Set (7 CDs + DVD) with all of Skydog’s Iggy and the Stooges releases
plus a 48-page booklet and detailed notes by Iggy Pop biographer, Paul Trynka

Available December 18th - PRE-ORDER NOW

When the riotous, confrontational 'last ever' Iggy & the Stooges gig Metallic KO was issued in 1976 on the French indie Skydog label, it heralded the punk movement and cemented Iggy's position in it. Iggy’s career then took off, and a lengthy liaison between Skydog and Iggy Pop continued, with releases through and beyond the Stooges reunion 29 years later.

Here are all of the Skydog label's Iggy releases, remastered, in a clam-shell box set containing seven CDs and a DVD – a fitting tribute to the label’s punk pioneer boss Marc Zermati, who passed away in June. Marc started Skydog in 1973, arguably Europe’s first independent rock label, and in the same year that Metallic KO was released he organized the "First Punk Festival" in Mont de Marsan. He worked closely with The Clash, Johnny Thunders, Wilko Johnson, and Chrissie Hynde and many others.

Alongside Metallic KO the box includes the two Metallic KO source tape gigs, pitch-corrected after a tape speed fault was discovered; two collections of live and studio rare songs; unusual Iggy acoustic shows on DVD; a studio acoustic CD and the Stooges long-awaited 2003 live reunion in Tokyo. The 48-page booklet has notes by Paul Trynka, the Iggy Pop ‘Open Up and Bleed’ biographer and former MOJO editor, and rare and unseen photos.

INCLUDES:
  • Metallic KO ‘Stooges last live show’ issued in ‘76
  • Two full source shows
  • Rare studio and live collections We Are Not Talking About Commercial Sh!t and Wake Up, Suckers!
  • DVD of unique Iggy ‘Acoustics KO’ performances
  • Studio ‘Acoustics KO’ CD.
  • 2003 Stooges reunion live album ‘Telluric Chaos’ recorded in Japan
  • Additional EP tracks
  • 48-page booklet and detailed notes by Iggy Pop biographer, Paul Trynka

Portraits From The Woods

Norman Reedus presents "Portraits From The Woods"

Behind the scenes photography from The Walking Dead

Featuring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Hideo Kojima, Lena Dunham,
Diane Kruger, Dave Chapelle and many more

Available now as Hardcover (First Edition) as well as Special Collector's Edition: Clothbound Clamshell Box which includes book plus signed archival photograph

In this brand-new electrifying book of photography by Norman Reedus, he captures moments behind the scenes of TWD as only Norman could deliver. With his unique sense of humor, traveling into the Georgian woods with Norman’s cast of characters and zombies, alongside portraits of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Hideo Kojima, Lena Dunham, Diane Kruger, Dave Chapelle and many more to reveal the individuals that inhabit his life.

Norman has an indelible way of capturing the beauty and mystery in others. His photographs are beautiful and terrifying, macabre and provoking, alternately dark, and sublime.

Norman is never without his camera. Like his life on set and in the real world, Reedus’ images vacillate between the real and surreal. Certain portraits remain vivid and clear, while others are washed in intrigue: grainy, hazy and obscured. What unites all of these faces are the eyes that see them: Norman’s. From those eyes come a piercing intimacy, both precious and rare.

The hardcover first edition (144 pages, 9.5" x 12") is now available exclusively on Reedus’ website Big Bald Galley for $75. Additionally, the Special Collector's Edition: Clothbound Clamshell Box which includes the hardcover book plus a signed archival photograph is also available now. Proceeds from sales are being donated to the COVID-19 Response Fund.

Here we are, back where we started at the beginning of the Pandemic. Lockdown in Los Angeles...sigh! Since I am one who has always done my part I find this a rather frustrating quandary.

Thus today I am going to try to focus on self care and positive things like pregnant mermaids. Yeah, now that's the ticket...
