National Relaxation Day

Chillin' Like Dylan
Dylan McDermott

National Relaxation Day on August 15th encourages us to slow down and unwind. It’s a day to focus on taking care of ourselves and take a moment to relax. So it is written and so it shall be Hey, just because we are in a lock down with limited options does not mean we are relaxed. The world we live in is anything but that.

Thus today has been officially set aside and demands that you do it. That's correct Minions you are hereby directed to chill the F#ck out!

Entertain Me's poster guy for the day is Emmy Nominee comeback kid, Dylan McDermott. I don't know what could be more relaxing than kicking it on a surfboard out on the ocean in your swim suit. Well perhaps it could be a tad more relaxing if one was in one's Birthday Suit...

Dylan came to see a play I was in once back in the day. One of the cast members was his waiter at a restaurant he was a regular at. "Yes" he is a stand up guy not to mention a chill one. I hope he wins come Emmy time.

Meanwhile you've all got some relaxing to attend to, get to it Peeps!

Seniors, A Dogumentary

SENIORS, A DOGUMENTARY

Coming to DVD and VOD on September 29th

Featuring the photography of Jane Sobel Klonsky, the author of UNCONDITIONAL, a best selling photo book from National Geographic

NEW HAVEN, CT: Seniors, A Dogumentary, the newest feature-length animal documentary from filmmaker Gorman Bechard is set for release on DVD and Video-On-Demand on September 29, 2020.

The film is a passionate portrayal of the vitality of senior dogs, and the people who cherish and protect them. Featuring the beloved Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary of Mount Juliet, Tennesse and Chaser the Border Collie, known as "The Smartest Dog In the World," their stories converge through the keen lens of famed photographer Jane Sobel Klonsky, author of the book Unconditional: Older Dogs, Deeper Love.

Director Bechard, creator of A Dog Named Gucci, winner of the 2015 ASPCA Media Excellence Award, wanted to make an animal welfare film which would highlight a need yet make people smile. "We see so much animal abuse on a day-to-day basis," he explains, "especially on social media. I wanted to make an animal film that would bring a smile to everyone's face. It's hard not to fall in love with these dogs!"

The film follows Zina and Michael Goodin, the Old Friends founders, as they relocate into their current facilities, and introduces us to Leo, social media star and the most popular dog in the sanctuary's history. We also meet Chaser and her owner Dr. John W. Pilley Jr, who spent his final years working to show just how much a dog was capable of learning, even into her senior years. Not only did Chaser learn the names of over one thousand toys, she was able to differentiate between nouns and verbs, understand full sentences, and mimic Pilley's actions after observing them just once. Seniors, A Dogumentary also features a song from Nashvillle musician Matthew Ryan.

The DVD, coming from the MVD Entertainment Group, features numerous extras, including the World Premiere Q&A from Nashville's Belcourt Theatre in March, with Bechard and most of the film's participants.

That one and only screening brought 31 user reviews to IMDb, with the film averaging a rating of 9.7, and eliciting comments like: "A great uplifting movie," "Best documentary of the year," and " Heartwarming, happy, and inspiring!"

Let me tell you about my latest obsession, if you had ever told me I would be into a Cardi B song I would have scoffed at you. Well WAP is currently my jam. Maybe it's because of how outright brazen it is, or perhaps it's the female empowerment of it all. Whatever the reason let's get busy...whores!

Hump Day & Chill

Hump Day & Chill
Luke Evans & Rafael Olarra

Yesterday was amazing! I will address it further in my Michael's Musings column tomorrow. Thus today let's Hump Day & Chill to, love. "Yes" you heard me love. Love is such a groovy thing, no?

Here we have hunky actor Luke Evans and his boyfriend Rafael Olarra to represent. Also because Luke has a great physique and is in a Speedo, hey this is Hump Day & Chill after all Minions.

"I'm not a 'Twilight' boy; I'll never be as good looking as those lads, and that's fair enough." - Luke Evans

Well Luke you may not be one of those lads, in my book you are better. I like my men manly, not boyish.

I have a hunch I will never get a shot at Luke (balls!) but let's toast to him and his boyfriend. Love is all you need today so get out there and Hump Day & Chill to it!!!

Current Mood

When I woke this morning I was feeling many things. Some good, some bad, some happy and some sad. "Yes" I know I just came off like a Dr. Seuss book, moving forward I stumbled upon this image of Russell Brand as Captain Hook taken by Annie Leibovitz for a Disney ad campaign.

This image encapsulates my, drum roll please...Current Mood. I am not going to break it down into detail for you, I believe the generalizations above are enough. Besides I don't want to be accused of trying to control you by planting ideas into your head, I want you all to have your own unique take on this photo.

You've got it, I'm all about freedom and creativity, Thus on that note be free my Minions and do it your way, make your dreams come true!

Just Because...Peacock

Strut
Garcelle Beauvais

Just Because it's Monday and we all need motivation, Just Because I'm getting my Tejava buzz going & Just Because, well birds of a feather and such. Here is RHOBH Garcelle Beauvais rocking a sheer peacock print robe in West Hollywood, CA!

While Ms. Beauvais has yet to truly get into the mud with the rest of the Housewives (Hey she has been working in addition to being on the show) I for one find her energy a refreshing balance to the negativity and mean spirited tone of the current season.

She's the voice of maturity and reason among the pettiness. Should Garcelle return next season my money will be on her as the one to watch. Trust me she's got the most game out of all of those women. She is simply testing the waters now, but once she knows how to navigate them...

Watch Out!!!

Que Sera Sera: Resurrected

Johnny Thunders - Que Sera Sera: Resurrected

35th Anniversary 3CD Box Set featuring a remixed version with extra tracks, the live version, the original album plus a 36-page booklet

Coming September 11th

FULL TRACK LISTING and PRE-ORDER HERE

In 1985 Johnny Thunders went into the studio in London, to record his third and final solo album. He gathered friends Mike Monroe, Patti Palladin, John Perry, Wilko Johnson, Henri-Paul Tortosa, Nasty Suicide, JC Carroll,Stiv Bators, Glen Matlock and others, and the resulting album was christened Que Sera, Sera

It wasn't all plain sailing - with Johnny it rarely was. Johnny had spent the previous two years in relative stability. He'd been gigging around the world, and between tours he was filming in France. Life was a series of nice apartments and hotels shared with his constant companions - his girlfriend Susanne and his manager Christopher.

Now circumstances meant he had neither. Without a new release, touring slowed, and his high-maintenance lifestyle led him to seek friend favors for somewhere to live. The major labels that Christopher hoped would provide financial support hadn't materialized.

In a row with Susanne, she complained that Johnny had never written a song for her. Johnny obliged, and along with new songs from his live set, he recorded "I Only Wrote This Song for You." Before the album was finished, as soon as he had a rough monitor mix of the song, he flew to Sweden to attempt a reconciliation.

Those remaining at the studio were left to put the pieces together. Patti Palladin oversaw the mixing with the engineer, and found there wasn't really enough for an album. Patti added "Tie Me Up" from the b-side of her Crawfish project, and "Blame It On Mom" was found from an earlier session. The title-track was actually an afterthought; recorded as a single 16 months later.

The album was well-received, and it got Johnny touring again, but there was always a sense that it could have been better, and that the guitar was restrained - in '85 many artists were seeking mainstream crossover. Two tracks were left off - Jerry Nolan's "Countdown Love" song was unused as he hadn't yet recorded it; and "Talk About You," a lengthy blues workout that didn't seem to fit.
With those two tracks in mind as bonus tracks for a reissue, Pat Collier, former Vibrators' guitarist, was asked to mix them. When the results came through, it became obvious that Pat should remix the whole album using today's technology and viewpoint.

In the multi-track tapes a few outtakes were discovered, and last year the Resurrected version was released as a Record Store Day double-vinyl with 5 bonus live tracks. After interruptions, the CD version was reappraised and expanded to a three-disc box set. The original album is included, reinstating "Tie Me Up" and the old, familiar mixes. Three live gigs were uncovered, and they became the live version of the album as a bonus CD.

Johnny Thunders' biographer, Nina Antonia, has written new notes with interviews for the 36-page booklet. It also includes lyrics and unseen photos from the recording sessions, the cover session and from one of the featured live gigs.
