Monday Motivation

Click Your Heels Together Three Times & Say...
John Duff

While surfing the WWW I spied this fun photo and it reminded me that I need to clean my place and made me a smile at the same time. "Yes" this is giving me all sorts of Monday Motivation to break out that vacuum and mop, strike a pose there's nothing to it, clean!

Upon further examination I found out this is a publicity shot for an out singer named John Duff. His current single is titled: "Do It" -

Hence I went to his, what else? Instagram page to see more...John is quite the cheeky dude with some cool beats. Who claims Paula Abdul called him "strange" in 2011. Well if you know anything about Ms. Abdul that's, uh, really saying something.

So a big Thank You to John for giving me Monday Motivation to engage in the act of housekeeping and for putting a grin on my face at the same time. It's like a unicorn, magic!!!

Bleach Your Bon-Bon

Bleach Blanket Boredom
Ricky Martin

One thing you can say about lockdown is it sure brings out one's creativity in the quest to keep ourselves amused.

Case in point, Ricky Martin, decided to "Bleach His Bon-Bon" yeah I now what your thinking, get your mind out of there. He decided to bleach his hair, but not the follicles located on his head, he bleached his beard. He posted the above photo on Instagram with the caption: "When bored, bleach."

Hey when bored, find anything that keeps you entertained and happy I say. Personally I kind of like the look on Ricky, but hey, I kind of like the way he looks period, so there's that.

Once upon a time I used to bleach my hair and even though I don't have much left, Ricky has inspired my own creativity in the way of some hairy fun.

"Yes" boredom is often the source of divine inspiration and ideas. Get inspired Minions!

Saturday Sinema: A Streetcar Named Desire

Vivien Leigh & Marlon Brando
A Streetcar Named Desire

In case you have not guessed A Streetcar Named Desire is one of my favorite films of all time. I watch it at least once a year, and while there is much to recommend it it does contain one of the most iconic performances ever committed to celluloid of all time: Marlon Brando as Stanley Kowalski.

Want to know more? Well I'm going to hand you over to my expert film buff buddy Jay Jacobson, give a click on the link below and transport yourself over to his classic movie blog. He has facts, opinions and history about this masterpiece based on the classic Tennessee Williams play.

Tell him Michael sent ya!

Weekend With Bernie's

I have a confession to make, "Yes" I love all the Bernie Sanders with mittens Memes. Now that that's off my chest, all I can say is each and every one of them make me smile. So here is a round up of some of my faves. While they are in no particular order I did choose the featured image of Bernie as the twins from The Shining based on my love of horror movies.

Time to "Feel the Bern"...😉

Michael's Musings

Back Off!
Michael Shinafelt

"I'm the trouble starter, punkin' instigator, I'm the fear addicted, a danger illustrated

I'm a firestarter, twisted firestarter" - Firestarter, Prodigy

Honestly I can't tell why this old Prodigy song is going through my mind this ayem, but since it is I am going with it. That's why this is a musings column, none of it has to be cohesive, it only has to spring fourth from my mind randomly. On that note, let's get more random shall we? We shall...

I don't know about you, but I feel a sense of calm today I haven't felt for 4 years

Biggest surprise at yesterday's Inauguration performance wise? Jennifer Lopez - WOW!

Light as a feather, stiff as a varnished eel

It's so bad. His eyes are lifted to high...wrong plastic surgery happens.

When I hide something, it stays hid

Relationships are horny

FYI I almost blocked you

To those of you offering to cover me in bubble wrap, please consider I would suffocate

Woman Crush of the Week - The first female Vice President ever Kamala Harris

Save The Date

RSVP tomorrow is the Presidential Inauguration of Joe Biden and the first female Vice President ever Kamala Harris.

"Yes" I will be watching given the Historical context of it, Ms. Harris being the first Veep and all. While we are entering a new era in this country, I for one am moving forward with hope and caution.

Let's face it, it's going to be a bit before COVID is truly under control given the negligence of the former administration. Also there's been a lot of damage done that will also take time to fix.

2021 will be a year of healing, not "your year" or anyone else's for that matter. It will be the year things move forward and make the next three years more viable for all.

So cheers to Biden/Harris I will be watching this historic event along with the rest of you.

PS In case you didn't know Lady Gaga is singing the National Anthem...
