Benjamin proposed in and oh so romantic way, he wrote the love letter on the back of the script for their new movie Time Is Up. Can I get an Awwwwwww....of course I can!!!

Sunday Sinema: Switchblade Sisters

From Jack Hill, legendary director of Spider Baby, Coffy, Foxy Brown, and The Swinging Cheerleaders comes another iconic cult classic, Switchblade Sisters!

Lace (Robbie Lee), the leader of inner city girl gang The Dagger Debs, meets her match when new girl Maggie (Joanne Nail) moves into the neighborhood. Mistrust and conflict turn to friendship as the girls end up in Juvenile Detention together at the mercy of abusive guards. Meanwhile, The Dagger Debs' male counterparts The Silver Daggers have to contend with the arrival of a new gang, led by the villainous Crabs (Chase Newhart). But when the girls get back on the streets, a planned retaliation strike in tandem with The Silver Daggers backfires and puts Lace in hospital. Maggie assumes control, teaming up with Muff (Marlene Clark) and her gang of African-American militants from across town to declare all out war. But there's a traitor in their midst...

Filled with sharp, clever dialogue and tongue in cheek humor, this Shakespeare-influenced girl gang/women in prison/action movie medley is a stone cold grindhouse classic!

Of late I have been thinking about how much I miss Pee Wee's Playhouse being on the air. Yeah, I know there are ways to watch re-runs, and I do, but his presence is the perfect antidote to a lot of things happening in the world right here, right now.

Thus on the first day of Spring I thought his whimsy, fun and just flat out silliness make Pee Wee Herman the perfect poster boy to celebrate the occasion. No need to thank me you can just spank me, or???

Spring is my favorite time of year, or as Pee Wee might state: I love Spring, but I'm not going to marry it!

A lot can happen during a pandemic and it did with Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy Award winning musician Matt Sorum (Ex Guns N’ Roses & Velvet Revolver drummer) and his wife, choreographer, singer-songwriter, visual artist & fashion designer Ace Harper as they have announced exclusively with People Magazine HERE they are expecting their first child this summer. 

Matt & Ace have been married since 2013 and are elated to welcome this new baby into their lives.  “We are beyond elated with God’s gift of our baby girl. Of all the beautiful adventures we’ve been fortunate enough to have in our lives there is nothing that compares to the joy we feel of finally creating our own family. We’re excited to show our child all the wonderful experiences life has to offer.” said Matt & Ace. 

Prior to the new baby being born, ZZ Tops’ Billy F Gibbons will release a new album that Matt co-wrote and co-produced.  In addition, Matt is set to release his new book “Double Talkin’ Jive: True Rock N’ Roll Stories” via Rare Bird Books in the fall.  Double Talkin' Jive goes beyond the clichés of sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll, telling the very human story of what it takes to make it in music, and the toll stardom exacts from those who achieve success.

About Ace Harper:  Ace's journey began studying ballet. She then spent years as a professional dancer working with a myriad of music legends. Lenny Kravitz, Jennifer Lopez, Duran Duran and famed director David LaChapelle to name a few. In the midst of everything, she constantly wrote songs and collected ideas, quietly assembling a sound and vision of her own.  After a storied dance career; Ace started creative directing her own stage shows with music, performance art, fashion, and visuals encapsulating her kaleidoscope of creativity. Ace is launching her name sake fashion line, Ace Harper later this year. She is vehement about empowering ALL women. If I'm being honest I have never heard any of Machine Gun Kelly's music, I've just heard of him. But dang he is pretty.

Which means Megan wins in the familiarity of her work sweepstakes here on Entertain Me as I have seen one thing she has been in Jennifer's Body. That's correct Minions the Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles don't cut it for me. But dang she is pretty.
