Michael's Musings

Pardon Me, I'm Levitating
Michael Shinafelt

Happy Levitation Day! "Yes" that is what I am referring to today as. All is well at present and thus I choose to levitate. Levitation is a state of mind and being. Thus may I be so bold to suggest you choose it, over staying on the ground today? I did actually suggest it, so it's too late, carry on Minions, carry on!

"No" is a full sentence

Happy Earth Day! Worship the ground you walk on!

Literally it's like a yard sale of body parts, the more you know

Never touch the gunk. You will give in to the gunk.

I'm fully vaccinated and ready for sin

There were no ovaries on the beach, where are they? Damn it!

Oh, F#ck me geek...(Yes, this is an entendre)

Did you hear the great news about Derek Chauvin???

Jim Jordan, Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Greene are drowning in the ocean. You have one seat left in the lifeboat. Who do you try and save? Answer: None of them I tell them the ocean is a Democratic hoax and move on

Due to popular Social Media demand LeVar Burton is in the last round of guest hosts for Jeopardy, you go LeVar!

Hump Day & Chill

David Eigenberg

While catching some reruns of Sex and the City recently I kept thinking how endearing Miranda's guy Steve was. Despite his faults, there was something about the couple that you rooted for and hoped that they could work it out.

That was obviously due in no small part to the actor who played Steve, David Eigenberg. Thus today we are going to Hump Day & Chill to David, in all his glory! What's that you say? He only bared his booty on SATC? Not so fast he also bared it all on stage when he performed in the Tony Award Winning play Take Me Out.

"Yes" we get to see the Full David on stage by clicking on the link to Tye Briggs Favorite Hunks & Other Things below. He featured the images in a Birthday spread he did on the actor. Ha! I said spread.

So, get to it Minions, Hump Day & Chill, David is waiting...!!!

Good Vibrations

What A Feeling!
David Duchovny - Gillian Anderson & Stella

Let's kick the week off with some Good Vibrations shall we? "Yes" we shall! Here is a photo posted on Instagram the other day by one Ms. Gillian Anderson with her dog Stella that reunites her with her X-Files co-star David Duchovny.

I was never really into the show and merely watched it a handful of times. Translation: I only watched when friends of mine guest starred on it. This being stated, this duo is nonetheless iconic in the cannons of pop culture and seeing them together definitely sends Good Vibrations.

Throw Gillian's dog Stella into the mix and you got some high octane Good Vibrations. Can you feel them? I certainly can!

So I send you off into another week of unknown adventure with this lovely reunion to keep visions of sugar plums dancing in your head.

Dance sugar plums, dance!!!

Sunday Sinema: Santa Sangre

"4 stars. This is a movie like none I have seen before, a wild kaleidoscope of images and outrages, a collision between Freud and Fellini."

     —Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times

It has been hailed as "extraordinary" (The Guardian), "visionary and haunting" (Rolling Stone) and "a grand work of art, full of symbols and imagery that reach beyond language to something primal and original" (AV Club). Now forget everything you have ever seen as the modern masterpiece from director Alejandro Jodorowsky returns like never before, with 8+ hours of archival & all-new Special Features produced exclusively for this collection. Severin Films is proud to present this 2-Disc Special Edition of Jodorowsky's epic odyssey through ecstasy and anguish, belief and blasphemy, beauty and madness - and the surreal genius behind it all - now featuring a 4K scan from the original negative supervised by the director himself.

On Saturday's We Wear Pink...

Getting Into Her Groove
Tiffany Haddish

"Yes" I know in Mean Girls it's Wednesday they wear pink, but today is Saturday. It's today I came across this paparazzi photo of Tiffany Haddish out on the town with pink hair and it is giving me life, so there!

Remember when Tiffany shaved her head bald at the beginning of the Pandemic? Well her hair has obviously grown out and now it is pink.

Gotta say I am loving her latest look, not too many peeps could pull of pink hair and Haddish does it with her usual flair. (hair/flair I made a rhyme, did you catch it Minions?)

Not to mention it, like pretty much everything she does puts a smile on your face. Hey get those good vibes anyway you can...

A Ghost Waits

On May 4th, Arrow Video will release
Adam Stovall's A Ghost Waits, a remarkable supernatural comedy romance which can best be described as Beetlejuice meets Ghost. Beautifully shot in gorgeous black-and-white, this indie film tells the story of a handyman, a haunted house, and the ghost he falls in love with (an absolutely brilliant performance from headliner MacLeod Andrews, star of The Siren).

An ingeniously unique and unpredictable combo of horror, humor and heart, A Ghost Waits is a DIY labor of love years in the making from first-time writer/director Adam Stovall and producer/star MacLeod Andrews. Tasked with renovating a neglected rental home, handyman Jack (MacLeod Andrews, They Look Like PeopleDoctor Sleep) quickly finds out why the tenants keep leaving in droves - this house is haunted. The ghost in question is Muriel (Natalie Walker), who is employed from beyond the veil to keep the home vacant.

Against the odds, Jack and Muriel find they have a lot in common... pulse notwithstanding. Having found a kindred spirit in an otherwise lonely existence, they must fight for their newfound affection as pressure mounts for them each to fulfill their "cross-purposes".

From its opening spectral assault to its achingly poignant conclusion, A Ghost Waits has shocked and surprised audiences around the world via the festival circuit... FrightFest,
Screamfest, Ramaskrik, Dead and SudBuried, Nevermore, and Popcorn Frights just to name a few.

Famed critic Kim Newman declared the film to be "one of the strongest first features of recent years," and Leslie Felperin of The Guardian gave it 4 stars and said it was "chock full of delightful narrative surprises, imaginative genre tweaks, and warming performances from its two leads."
