Hump Day & Chill

Carl Nassib

"Yes" it's still Pride Month and guess what Minions? How could we not have a Hump Day & Chill celebration about the first openly gay active NFL player Carl Nassib?

I admit that I had no idea who Nassib was up until this point. Apparently he is a defensive lineman for the Las Vegas Raiders. The more you know.

This piece of 411 being included in today's Hump Day & Chill fest, Carl is a groovy guy. He took to Social Media and made a $100 thousand dollar donation to The Trevor Project. For those of you who aren't into the groove The Trevor Project provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for LGBTQ youth.

So this makes Carl hotter than your average football stud, and quite a hero, he is using his powers for good.

Thus let's focus our collective Hump Day & Chill vibes to Mr. Nassib and hit his Instagram page, and send a few dollars to the worthy Trevor Project.

Remembering Judy Garland

Mike Clifford & Judy Garland

Today marks the anniversary of the passing of a legend, Judy Garland. Being that it is Pride Month makes it even more significant as Judy was a huge gay icon and supporter.

Above is a photo of my friend Mike Clifford pictured here with Judy at the Little Club in Beverly Hills, CA. She was there to see him perform that night. "Yes" he was fortunate enough to call Ms. Garland friend.

Thus in memory of her, and in celebration of Pride Month. Here is Mike's wonderful cover of Over The Rainbow...

Enjoy, and Happy Pride!

Summer Loving

In The Summertime...
Zac Efron & Michelle Rodriguez

Summertime and the livin' is easy...and it's also a time for coupling. It was the summer of 2014, have you checked your dogs water bowl? Good!

Whilst doing that you may have forgotten that Zac Efron and Michelle Rodriguez had short lived romance. Hey, I know I actually did, it was like a refreshing cool splash of water on your face during a hot summer day, then it was gone.

There are many rumors and speculation I have heard about his particular coupling, none of which I will repeat here. "Yes" Minions I do not gossip, I tease. This being stated the official reason for them parting ways is that Michelle couldn't get over her ex, Cara Delevingne.

Saying so long to those fast and furious photo-ops 😮

Father's Day

We Are Family

Happy Father's Day and all that jazz! Jazz hands only please, thank you...

Being that it is also Pride Month I thought maybe, perhaps, definitely we would celebrate not with one, but two Dads. Sounds good? I knew it would and it is a completely wizard idea!!!

Thus we have Cheyenne Jackson and his husband Jason Landau with their twins Willow and Ethan. These two little nuggets were born via surrogacy, and since one is a boy and the other is a girl it's easy to tell them apart, correct?

Love is love and family is family.

Keep on keepin' -

Who's your Daddy???

Rainbow High

The Rainbow Connection
Kate Middleton

She's got the look of Pride Month. That's correct Minions today we have a Rainbow High Pride shout out from the Duchess of Cambridge herself Kate Middleton.

Hey, there's nothing like a dame and Kate is showing her true colors by supporting Pride under her umbrella.

To the casual observer it may look simply like Kate has a multi-hued rainbow umbrella, but to those who are in tune to the world at large we know she is giving a show of support to Pride Month.

Given that the colors are specific to said Pride ones how could you not get the Duchesses intentions? I ask you, of course I can not wait for an answer so I am moving on...

Kudos to Ms. Middleton for the show of solidarity, for those about to accessorize your frock with Pride we salute you!!!

Film Buff Friday: Major Dundee

"No true Peckinpah-lover should pass it by" —

Michael Wilmington, Chicago Tribune

After making his first bonafide classic in Ride the High Country, director Sam Peckinpah took a step towards the epic with Major Dundee. The film would, in many ways, define the rest of his career both on screen and off, as the drama behind the camera matched the action in front of it.

Charlton Heston stars as Major Amos Dundee, a vainglorious Union Cavalry officer, who mounts an expedition to hunt down Apache war chief Sierra Charriba. Building his own army of criminals, ex-slaves and Confederate POWs - among them one Captain Ben Tyreen (Richard Harris), whose intense former friendship with Dundee is tainted with a sense of betrayal on both sides - Dundee heads into Mexico, his eye fixed firmly on a last shot at greatness.

Legendarily acerbic, Major Dundee would be the first time that Peckinpah had a movie taken away from him. While a director's cut may be lost to us, this Limited Edition shows us the thrilling, morally complex epic that Peckinpah was aiming for. Beautifully shot and with a stellar supporting cast including James Coburn, Warren Oates, and L.Q. Jones, it remains a stunning achievement and an essential experience for anyone interested in the life and cinema of "Bloody Sam."
