A Bloody Nightmare

Final Girl, Final Word
Neve Campbell

While Neve Campbell will not be appearing in Scream 6, Sidney Prescott lives on. That's correct Minions Neve is bringing Sidney back in an ad for the Red Cross to encourage peeps to donate, what else? Blood!!!

It's brilliant I say! Also it pretty much gives Neve the last word on the Sidney Prescott legacy that we are fortunate enough to have had her be a part of.

Dear makers of Scream 6, you really blew it by giving up the Ghostface on this one. It will be interesting to see how the upcoming installment of Scream fares without our Sidney.

I for one have zero interest.

Check out Neve's terrific PSA below, the final girl gets the final word.

Ginger Wildheart & The Sinners

"Ginger keeps working at a rate that'd seriously tax more youthful musicians."- Classic Rock

"Another cracker to add to the many that have come with the Wildheart stamp"- Backseat Mafia

***

Ginger Wildheart & The Sinners are proud to announce the release of their debut album on October 7th via Wicked Cool Records.

Their self-titled album is an energetic album that celebrates rock’n’roll and as Ginger explains it is in “the spirit of the music that we all collectively love, from childhood to the present day. Little Feat, The Allman Brothers, Wilco, The Band, Creedence, The Jayhawks, Lone Justice, Jason & the Scorchers, Georgia Satellites, Status Quo, The Stones…from roots country to rock n roll and Americana.”

The uplifting new single " is about a dream “Not necessarily one that will come true but enough to have something to look forward to, especially when times seem a little hopeless.”

He adds, "'Lately Always' is a song about hope. About having a dream or a goal just big enough to cling onto and stay afloat on the choppy waters of life. Too much reality can bring some ugly side effects, like disappointment, resentment, or the crushing weight of anticlimax.

Sometimes you need a dream just to keep going, whether daydreaming about a holiday, fantasizing about a new love or imagining a new life for yourself. Some dreams come true, some don't, but every dream helps escape the boredom of real life.

We live at a time when hope is in bigger demand than ever. This song offers hope, escapism and positivity, all wrapped up in a good tune and some tasty harmonies."

And that, right there, is exactly what Ginger Wildheart & the Sinners are all about.. Sanctuary for a tired mind and a weary heart. The comfort of emotionally connecting with a song. The medicine that nothing but music can ever be.

Ginger Wildheart & The Sinners were formed in August 2019 when Ginger joined forces with Neil Ivison and Nick Lyndon from the band Stone Mountain Sinners. The line up was completed with drummer Shane Dixon (Tri-City Fanfare) and as Ginger explains “Me and The Sinners met for the very first time in the studio, in preparation for recording an album together. We figured out that if we can’t get along with each other then the music would be ultimately worthless. So we went to the pub and got drunk together. The next morning the music started flowing with ease. This is the sound of friendship.”

The album was recorded at Mwnci studios in Pembrokeshire, Wales, with Dave Draper producing.

The LP kicks off with the first single "Wasted Times," which sets the tone for an album of pure rock n roll, peppered with country touches. The listener will find a further seven original songs, including "Lately, Always" plus two covers: "Dirty Water" by Status Quo and "Six Years Gone" by Georgia Satellites, the first song Ginger wanted to play with the band back when this was just an idea. “I became a bit obsessed with the song while in LA for Lemmy’s funeral, and carried it around in my heart from then until we all congregated at the studio.”

There is a refreshingly familiar sound to every one of the songs on the album and it is a masterclass in how to write melodies that pull the heartstrings.

Despite the turmoil in which we find ourselves, Ginger with his Sinners give us all hope. Get with it or get out.

Younger Than Springtime

Younger
Madonna

While surfing the WWW I came across this image of Madonna getting down with her younger bad self circa 1985 as "Susan" from the film Desperately Seeking Susan.

This brings back memories of when I was in college because that is when Susan hit theaters.

It also reminds me of a simpler more enjoyable era, the 80's. Hey, they were really a great time to live through so if you didn't I'm sorry.

Time keeps on moving along though and here we all are collectively in 2022. A time where I am truly Desperately Seeking Susan.

Have a Madonna straight outta the 80's day!

Friday Flowers

In Bloom
Zoet Deutch

OK Minions I really have nothing to state on this last Friday of July 2022, thus I will leave you feeling fresh as a daisy with flowers!

Well kinda, it's actress Zoey Deutch in a floral shirt and skirt out and about in NYC.

If Zoey strutting about in this totally tubular outfit doesn't give you Good Vibes Only you might want to check your pulse just to be certain you still have one.

My Friday Flowers from me to you via Ms. Deutch.

And aren't you happy, say yes!!!

Michael's Musings

#tbt #ThrowbackThursday Fan Boying
Michael Shinafelt

Today's premiere of the HBO Max series Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin got me thinking about how much I LOVED the original Pretty Little Liars. Seriously, you have no idea!

When the Pretty Little Liars spin-off The Perfectionists was set to debut I went so far as to attend the immersive experience in Hollywood (as you can see in the photo above.)

I even attended the premiere of a little indie film G.B.F. specifically to meet Sasha Pieterse who played mean girl Alison DiLaurentis in the first go and Perfectionists ("Yes" I fan boyed.) I was bummed Perfectionists didn't get a second season I liked it, due in no small part that they brought Sasha on as well as Janel Parrish who played Mona from the OG cast.

You may ask am I gonna watch Original Sin, "Nope" - the original is always the best, and no OG cast members guest star (that could coax me to tune in.) Best of luck to the show, simply not in my wheelhouse.

From all the buzz on Twitter about last night's ROBH episode it sounds like I'm in for a really big show...hopefully I'll get to it today, if not soon!!!

Hump Day & Chill

Here we are again Minions another Hump Day & Chill. Guess what?! Much like last week it's a trailer for another horror movie.

"Yes" spooky season is just around the corner and it's my Christmas with all the horror film trailers coming at us!

The scare flick in question in case you haven't guessed already is Pearl the prequel to Ti West's nasty little opus X (which I loved!!!) dropping September 16th. Starring the amazing Mia Goth and co-written by her with West as Well.

Based on the trailer it's gonna be another Hell of a ride. My favorite byline about it via Polygon sums the preview up best:

"Ti West's Pearl adds porn and pitchfork murder to the Wizard of Oz"

In case you're wondering why this is accurate (I know you are) I suggest you Hump Day & Chill to the abovementioned preview below.

Personally I can't wait for this, now go Hump Day & Chill with your bad selves...do it, and do it now!!!
